I hope everyone has a peaceful, prosperous and fantastic 2010.
New CLOSET is Coming!!!
I’m so excited! I received enough gift cards and cash to head on over to The Container Store and build out my closet. Oh boy…13 feet of wall space here I come! I have most of my stuff organized but after building out a closet in our first house I love the idea of utilizing the entire wall with a double-hang. Currently with the single-hang I have to still stow away my summer clothes. I’d really like to see all I have for layering purposes.
Here are some pics of the before. I’m hoping to go this week to design it and then set it up next weekend. I want to paint the closet too but husband is against it so I may have to settle for a fun rug or something.
Jewelry Storage
How do you store your jewelry? I currently have mine on my two dressers on separate accessory stands and vases and trays. I’ve been purchasing more jewelry from J Crew that I’m actually wearing. I’ve got other pieces that I hardly ever wear.
Some of these are actual jewelry holders while other are trays, vases and bowls I purchased at TJ Maxx.
I like this but I have more that I’d like to display (so that I know I have it and will wear it) and I’m not sure how to do it. I don’t want it to seem too cluttered. I’d love to add drawer knobs to the wall to hang the necklaces but husband still has visions of re-painting the walls.
I have minimal bathroom counter space and the closet is mostly husband’s while mine is the guest room closet. I’ll have another post on the before and after of that closet but can you imagine working with a 13 x 6 x 8 (I’m loving the 13 feet length).
I digress…I’m curious how you store your jewelry? In the boxes, bags they came in? Jewelry holders? Displayed out or in drawers?
Merry Christmas
J Crew Campo Messenger Bag
I wandered into the other J Crew store in town last night and saw this.
Now, I had been eyeing it online for about two weeks in this exact color, Dark Pewter. I almost bought it with the 30% off but decided on Cashmere instead (glad I did…Love my Jalapeno Cashmere Shawl Popover Sweater!). Online it is $159.99, down from $268. It’s a great neutral color and has a fold-over flap to close the bag. I love my Mini Campo bag but sometimes I just don’t like having my purse open all the time.
Anyway, I walked into the store and saw this and several other purses, all store returns from online purchases. I knew I would be paying $159.99 but that was much better than paying $268. I checked the tag inside the bag to find out it was not that price. It was less…much less…half-off-the-sale-price-less. Yep, $79.99 was the price on the tag. That sealed the deal for me and now it’s mine.
But here’s what I don’t understand J Crew. Why are you not consistent with the prices? I understand if it was less online than the store return but to be less in the store than online…huh? The only thing I can figure out is that it was purchased when it came out online, immediately returned and has been sitting in the store for quite a while.
I guess I don’t really need to understand it because it’s mine, mine, mine, for $79.99.
