I have a Shoes-day Guest post today! A new online friend, Dianna, has agreed to give a quick review on the Gap Chelsea Bootie in Black Leather.

I am pleasantly surprised by my new purchase.  At 40% off the retail price with a coupon code, these booties are reasonably priced with a superb quality.

The leather is soft.  The stitches are precise.  And they are really a comfortable pair of shoes if you need to be on your feet for a long time.

The knit side made it easy to put on the take off the shoes.   It comes in brown and gray too.  Well done GAP!

Thanks Dianna! I have seen the Chelsea Booties in person and the black look really nice.

My search for booties originally started with finding a pair of Blue Booties, in leather or suede. I don’t know why I want blue other than maybe because I haven’t seen them on anyone and they will go well with my Fall clothes. I stopped by Nordstrom because they almost always have what I’m looking for. I didn’t find any but that may have been because I was distracted by these.

~ Newbury Newbuck Booties, Gray, size 7 1/2 ~
I was originally worried when I tried these on that the heel would be too high and uncomfortable but instead the heel was very manageable. The interior is all leather. I tried on a size 7 in the Newbury in Canvas and found them to be a little too snug, even more so with a trouser sock. The 7 1/2 gave me just a little more room to wear a trouser or thin sock.

The J Crew Factory Quinn Booties in Rustic Gray are on the right. You can see how much more of a blue undertone the gray takes.
These are such a splurge but so gorgeous and I know I will wear them every chance I get. I have found when I buy something that’s a little more on the pricey side, I want to get that cost-per-wear down as fast as I can. Quality not quantity, right?

What has been your latest splurge?

~ Faux-Suede Ankle Boots, Wine Suede, size 7 ~

I saw these booties on someone on Instagram and was shocked to find out they were from Old Navy. I headed to my nearest store and found them right as I was about to give up. They come in whole sizes only and my normal size 7 fit perfectly.

The heel height is 3 inches and very manageable. I wore them all day without any issues or feet hurting at all.

The color is a beautiful Wine/Burgundy/Maroon (however you want to call it) color. The suede is faux but doesn’t look or feel cheap to me.

At a price of $35-40, it’s a good buy for your budget. I know I’ll get quite a bit of wear out of these, especially when I want a heel instead of a flat or sneaker to wear. The day I wore these I received so many compliments and was happy to pass along that they were at Old Navy
Happy Shoes-day!

Happy Shoes-day and Happy Fall! It actually feels a little cooler here in South Central Texas right now.

~ Quinn Suede Ankle Bootie, Rustic Gray, size 7 ~

I wasn’t necessarily in search of Gray Booties but found another pair I really liked and wanted to compare the Quinn’s to them. I used my Gilt 30% coupon to order these.
They fit TTS in my normal size 7. They won’t fit if I wear a thick sock with them though. The suede is very nice and better than I expected for the Factory. The gray has blue undertones which I didn’t notice IRL until I saw the photos.
The heel is not quite 3 inches and is stacked so I feel it’s very manageable to walk around.
They look a little western-wear to me especially the shape of the top and the back. The sole is man-made and could probably use a little rubber added to prevent the sole from being to slick.

Though the Rustic Gray color didn’t work out for me I do like the Quinn Bootie overall. I’d take my true size 7 in the Dark Cedar if I was looking for a brown bootie. The price is pretty reasonable, even without a promo.
Have you tried the Quinn Bootie?

I found these Alani D’Orsay Flats at Banana Republic one weekend they reminded me very much of the J Crew Suede D’Orsay Flats. The color is called Deep Chestnut and is a pretty Taupe color. Like the J Crew Flats I sized down to a 6 1/2. The front toe is suede and the back heel is leather.

And more D’Orsay Flats…

I really like these and they are a nice dupe for the J Crew version. I saw an embossed black leather in-store as well. These will be a good transition into cooler days and then perfect for Spring.

Happy Shoes-day!
