I purchased the Silk Tie Scarf and wanted to try and style it the way J Crew did in their Style Guides from September and October. This {pin} is kind of what I used to create this outfit, just as far as layering the scarf under my clothes.

To be honest, I wore my Calf-Hair Shearling Slippers most of the day and then added the Martina Wedges when we went to dinner with The Boy. He is on his way back to school today.
I really liked the look of the scarf at the neckline. It was peaking out enough to make you think it was another shirt layered under the sweater. I do think I should have put one end of the scarf to the side instead of both ends dangling in front.
I bought the Midnight Green color of the Silk Tie Scarf. I like the look of the Black Cobalt and the Overcast Grey but I am not sure 1) how often I would layer the scarf under my clothes and 2) actually wear a silk scarf.
Do you ever take a styling idea from the Style Guides?

I really cannot get enough of the Harvest Moon Poncho. It would have to be my favorite Winter purchase this year. Especially the Maize color. I honestly did not think I could find anything to wear with this color. It turns out, it’s just as versatile as the Ivory I purchased. The sweater color is perfect to bring out the mustard yellow color in the Plaid Shirt.

I have been switching from this darker color of the Pilcro Stet Slim Ankle Jeans and the lighter color that’s currently available now. I love the fit of them and they work so well with all my short boots.

See other outfits with the Harvest Moon Poncho here.

I need to figure out what I am going to do with my Short Chalet Boots. I love them and have worn them almost every day in Winter for the last three years. I like these over Uggs because they aren’t as wide-looking as Uggs. I bought a different-brand replacement insert I was hoping would fit but it was too snug. If I size down on the insert I think I’ll feel it. I’m so sad that it may be time to retire these boots. Any suggestions on shearling boots that aren’t too chunky and wide-looking?

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year’s Eve. We made it to and from Dallas without any major issues. We had to cut our trip a little short since Husband had some tooth issues but otherwise, it was so nice to catch up with our friends.

I am excited to share this Que Bella today since it has the whole family. The Boy has really stepped up his wardrobe since going off to College. At least he has since he’s been home. He’s probably been wearing basketball shorts and ironic tees to class but I don’t see that.

He does have to dress up for his Chapter meetings and really liked this sweater he received for Christmas. I bought him this Heather Maroon and the Heather Elm.

For New Year’s Eve, I wore my Willa Dress from Tory Burch with some sweater tights and my Harper Boots. Hubs has on a J Crew Merino Sweater and some AG Cords!!

Thank you all for spending a little time with me every know and then! I really appreciate it and look forward to a Great 2015!

Have a Great Evening!

Christmas Day went by in a flash for me. I was up really really early (4:30 a.m.) and had to wait for everyone else to wake up. We finally had to wake up The Boy or he would have slept all day, Christmas or not! Once presents were opened I was in the kitchen until our guests started arriving, still in my Christmas PJs (pj pants, tee, slippers).

I knew I was going to wear my new Cashmere Sweatpants. They were such a splurge, even with 40% off, but they were so cozy and comfortable once I put them on. I really didn’t think I would get into the sweatpants trend but they really did look nice with my Janey Printed Flats. (I chose a Leopard Kiki option in my image below.) I went with a size Small in the pants, based on the reviews, and I think I probably could go to an XS in these. They do stretch out a little. I’m hoping I can catch the Navy or Heather Acorn color on sale. Today’s the last day for 30% off on these.

The Merino Wool Pocket Tunic in Deep Forest has been waiting to be worn since I purchased it. The tunic was just enough warmth for the day. The stones in the Gemscape Layering Necklace (now on sale + 40% off!) paired well with the green tunic.

I am now officially on vacation, which is through all of next week and am totally ready for it. We are hoping to see some friends in Dallas for New Year’s. I’m shopped out right now but I’m sure I’ll be refreshed by the time we get to Dallas!

Have a Great Evening!

Can you tell I love the Harvest Moon Poncho from Anthropologie? This Ivory color goes with everything. I wore this outfit a week ago to try to finish all my Christmas shopping and received so many compliments on both the Poncho and the Hebrides Geo Pendant Necklace. The Tartan Shirt look great underneath it though now I wish that it was offered in the longer length this season so it would have extended past the sweater. Why does J Crew not bring this back as a staple each year? Or at least a Factory staple?
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and received everything they wanted! I hosted Christmas Day this year and there were presents galore for my niece and nephews. It was crazy but we all enjoyed a delicious Italian lunch of Lasagna, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Baked Tomatoes, Caesar Salad and lots and lots of desserts, most of which my mom made. Cookies galore!
I’m working today so I hope everyone enjoys the after-Christmas sales! MamaBella is going out today to check out Dillard’s and Talbots.
Have a Great Day!
