I jumped on the site this morning and found something interesting. Someone may have pulled the trigger a little early on adding new pictures to the various category headers. And I like some of what I see.

Though the copy states this is a Colorblock Boatneck Top under the Knits and Tees Category, the picture shows a Sequined Polka Dot Tee. Yes, please. And, if you click on it you will be taken to the Colorblock Boatneck Tee.
The Martina Wedge in a Mint…Love!
A gorgeous skirt with some contrast piping…and look at the cute cardigan!
No, this is not a picture of the Stovepipe Trousers under the Pants Category. But, if you didn’t like the French Hen Sweater then how about a cute doggie?
I hope this cute sweater is not Dream.
Mint Hacking Jacket!!!!
A gorgeous watercolor dress that can transition to Spring.
And this pretty plaid scarf is not the French Hen Scarf but I like the colors.
So, I wonder when we will get to see some of these new items online or in-store? Some are piquing my interest after a lackluster rollout the last two times.

My PS messaged me to let me know my store had received the Collection Jeweled Collar Sweater aka Jeweled Peter Pan Collar Sweater in the store and was gorgeous. That part I knew but I was unsure about the sizing. After reading posts from My4Boys, AJC and ShopWithM I prepared myself to be let down. (I couldn’t find FFM’s post.)

And I initially was. I tried on my normal size Medium in sweaters this was boxy and ill-fitting all around. The underarm part of the sleeves looked almost Dolman-like. Even my PS agreed with me and suggested I size to a Small and since I was already let down I knew a different size couldn’t make it look much worse.

See…Dolman
Oh, but a lovely jeweled collar.
And it wasn’t worse. It was better. I was plesantly surprised and in lust again with this beautiful sweater. The sleeves are a tiny bit tight but through the body the fit was much better. Yes, it’s a little itchy being Alpaca/Wool but not as much as the currently in-store only Peter Pan collar sweater.
Size Small
This super itchy wool Peter Pan Collar Sweater is offered in Burgandy and Navy. It’s very cute but seems very girly…like little girl girly. Take a look.
I don’t know if you can see the detail of the shoulders that well but they are slightly puffy and the sweater is very thin. So, puffy shoulders with a cutesy Peter Pan collar and club-girl see through all in one. Yep, so not for me. I’m not even sure what you could wear under this sweater other than a long-sleeved tee. Not a collared sweater and I’m not sure a turtleneck would look good.

Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the tag but according to FshnOnMyMind the style # is 15559 and it’s $89.50. I’m wearing the Navy sweater with the Pleated Crepe Skirt in Vibrant Fuchsia. (I didn’t think Fuchsia could get any more Vibrant or bright but that’s the Crew for ya.) I have on a size 6 and it fit well. I was really interested in the Cabernet colorway but remembered I have the Burgandy Double Serge Cotton Pencil Skirt so I don’t need that color. The material is a bit heavier in weight and is Poly according to the website…booo! And lined in Poly…double boo! That skirt is a pass, especially since they want $128 for a Poly skirt. I’m not sure why but the Pleated Skirt in Polka Dot Crepe says is Silk Crepe de Chine. I didn’t get a pic of the tag so I’m hoping the website is wrong. It seems longer on the model too but it’s 19 inches long. It does look good all the way around, IMO.

Wearing the Neon Azalea Sydneys!

I was in a rush when I tried these on and just went in to try on the Jeweled Collar Sweater. I have an official PS appointment Friday evening. The Boy and I will also be school shopping. I’m hoping he’ll put a few more JC items in his wardrobe other than tees. I saw the most beautiful blazer in the men’s section but I don’t think he’s ready for that. We’ll see.

Though I don’t say it enough…Thanks for reading!

I had a personal shopping appointment Saturday at J Crew and my PS did not disappoint. She pulled some great items for me and I may have changed my mind about not needing anything from the First Fall roll-out. She has a great eye for mixing prints and colors. There is just so much that I tried on I’ll start with an anticipated item for me, the Zig Zag Sequin Tee.

Blythe Blouse in Polka Dot, Pale Graphite, Sz 8 – I’ve said my piece many times about this blouse. It’s a great silk blouse and always comes in wonderful colors but I always have to size to my bigger top size due to the shoulders. Then the body of the shirt is too big. For me, this blouse is better as a layering piece. Wishlisted
Zig Zag Sequin Tee, Natural, Sz M – This also comes in Mint. This “tee” has a nice weight to it and lots of sparkle, unfortunately wearing it alone, without a layering piece is bothersome (last pic below). Every time I moved I wanted to scratch. A long-sleeved tissue tee will be best underneath this sequin tee. Or you can layer it like I have here. I think the combination of the two prints and the colors go well together. I’d like to see this blouse underneath the Mint colorway. Wishlisted-Mint
Minnie Pants in Stetch Twill, Boulevard Green, Sz 8 –  I had several pairs of Minnie Pants when they first came out and eventually sold them all as I had stopped wearing pants, especially body hugging ones. But I like the dark green of these and they are the perfect ballet flat length on me. Wishlisted-Green and Navy
Schoolboy Blazer in Wool Flannel, Modern Red, Sz 6 – Blazers have been my winter coat the last several years due to the mild winters we’ve had. The size 6 is a bit tight, especially with the layering underneath so I would go with an 8 to be more comfortable. I have so many blazers and a coral tweed one from a few years ago so this one is a Pass.
I’ll have lots of shirts and sweater layering combinations coming in the next few days. Other than the dresses those were probably my favorites.
Have a Great day!

Shorts and lightweight skirts and dresses are a main staple in my closet for Summer. Texas hit the 100s while I was on vacation and hasn’t let up. I look at J Crew because they have an array of lengths and colors every year.
This year I found the Nautical Striped Shorts in my store in Tangier Orange, which is an orange-red stripe. These are a Linen-Cotten blend with a little bit of a higher waist, slight pleating and a 3-inch inseam. The zip is on the side which makes for a leaner look, IMO. And at $65 I wasn’t about to not give them a try.

I loved the fit of these so much I ordered them in the Coastline Blue colorway as well. I can’t seem to stop wearing the Linen Cable Knit Sweaters from J Crew. This time I am wearing the Neon Azalea with the shorts and the Soludos espadrilles in White. I went with a size 8 as the 6 was just a bit too snug across the hips which then caused the pleating to pull a little bit. Size 8 is my standard JC Shorts size.

And look who else likes them too?

Ali Fedotowsky helped Sauza Tequila kick-off their Regional Rescue Tour. She paired hers with a denim shirt, red necklace and cute blue wedges. (I am not a Bachelor/Bachelorette watcher so I had to Google her. I originally thought she was a soap opera actress.)
Has anyone else tried these shorts?

Saturday I did the craziest thing ever in my love for J Crew. I drove 90 miles one way for a skirt! When I told The Boy what I was going to do he looked at me and laughed! And then asked why. Well, my dear Boy, because I needed it. I compared it to when he needed the latest Call of Duty video game or the latest map pack and he understood.

So what skirt would cause me to lose my mind for a moment and drive 90 miles to get it?

It went on sale in stores this week from $118 to $69.99. I was already contemplating a full-price purchase on this skirt but when it hit sale, my store and the other in San Antonio sold out in the size 4 in this color. My PS was going to order it for me but I asked her to look and see if there were any in Austin first. There was one at Barton Creek Square and a few at the Domain. She called BCS and had it put on hold and I drove Saturday evening to pick it up. An hour and a half drive for a 10 minute stop (I picked up some Lammes Candies Longhorns too) and then we turned around and came home.
Now, why, you ask, would I drive to pick this up instead of having it shipped and possibly getting the additional 30% off? Because I’ve re-planned my packing list for the umpteenth time and included this skirt as a possibility. So I had to have it as quickly as possible and I knew it wouldn’t get here by Wednesday.
And I was a walking J Crew ad for my adventure on Saturday. After seeing the Gimlet Skirt in Coaster Stripe on the CNBC show about Mickey & J Crew I was itching to wear it again. I paired it with one of my favorite Linen sweaters, the Linen Dot Popover, and my Iris Sandals in Tortoise
How Crew “Cray Cray” have you ever been? Confess!
Have a Great Day!
