This week I’m styling the Ryder Dress from Tory Burch, taking it from Late Summer to Early Winter (at least here in South Texas).

~ Ryder Dress, Tory Burch ~
~ Blossom T-Strap Flat, Tory Burch ~

These were the shoes I ordered during the Fall Event and I’m so happy that I did. I ordered the size 7 and they fit TTS. I was worried that the strap wouldn’t be long enough since that has been the case for several other Tory shoes I’ve tried on. But this time, the strap was long enough and has a few extra holes. I’ve worn them a few times already and they are pretty comfortable. The body of the shoe is leather and the toe is patent. The little flower blossoms are by the buckle. This blossom design is also offered in a ballet flat, a bootie and a tall boot.

~ Ryder Dress, Tory Burch ~
~ Cashmere Tee, J Crew (one, two, three) ~
~ Strappy Heeled Shoes, Zara (one, two, three) ~

This was probably my favorite outfit of the three. I initially chose a cashmere cardigan in the same color but loved how the tee transitioned this from a dress to skirt. I also have the idea incorporate tortoise into this outfit by adding some opaque black tights, the Gemini Link Loafers and my Tortoise Flower Necklace (one, two, three). I cannot wait until it’s cold enough to break out the cashmere. I will probably add my black Lexington Blazer over this.

~ Ryder Dress, Tory Burch ~
~ Chunky Shawl Collar Cardigan, J Crew (one, two, three) ~
~ Harper Boots, J Crew (one, two, three) ~

This last outfit will be perfect for my work-from-home attire. I’ll be able to stay nice and cozy in this chunky sweater while still looking put together for my day “at work”. The waist on this dress is elastic so I think I do need to add a black belt. This will help keep the dress from riding up at the waist.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I styled the Ryder Dress. You can always see more items I’ve styled on my Tumblr.

There are some great dresses at Tory Burch this season though the Cora Dress will always be my favorite. I liked all but one of what I tried on.

~ Palais Dress, Small ~
~ Gemini Link Printed Patent Loafers, size 7 ~

This dress is made of merino wool with a fit-and-flare style and cable-knit design. I found the Small to fit just a little snug but due to the style I wouldn’t size up. The length hits be just below the knee. It’s really cute and I think it would be a great work dress. There’s a matching cardigan as well.

~ Musee Dress, Medium ~

This is made of a silk jersey, which I love but fit really small. This dress isn’t made for curves. I am not even sure if the Large would fit well. The belt doesn’t help to create any shape either. The length hits above the knee and the dress is a pullover-style. The geometric design is cute but there’s too much that’s wrong with this dress to buy it, even on sale.

~ Julia Dress,  size 8 ~
~ Gemini Link Printed Patent Loafers, size 7 ~

Here’s another silk jersey dress that fits much better in a numbered size. I love the pattern and perfect Fall colors on it. The belt matches the dress and has a d-ring closure. I think this dress would be better suited with a different belt since the current one isn’t very structured. The length is actually good on me and what I would consider midi, for my height. There are side slits at the hem allowing some movement in the skirt. I can see wearing a good chunky sweater over this for Fall. This dress is also on sale.

~ Sardy Dress, Medium (also blue) ~

This sporty little dress is made of Merino Wool. It slips over the head without having to un-do any buttons at the shoulder. The mock neck isn’t tight and always something I look for in turtleneck-style items. The medium was a great fit too. This was a dress I really liked and will try to get it on sale in the Navy which has a green racing stripe. If you prefer, there is a sweater

~ Ryder Dress, size 8 ~
~ Gemini Link Printed Patent Loafers, size 7 ~

This dress was my favorite of everything I tried on. It is 100% silk twill and has an elastic waist. I’m a sucker for Tory’s silk dresses, especially if they are a shirt-dress style. I easily came up with three different ways to style this dress. I also love how the dress looks with the Tortoise Loafers

I ended up purchasing the Ryder Dress, Gemini Link Printed Patent Loafers and the Blossom T-Strap Flat. I think it will be a unique little black flat to wear this Fall. I have some outfit ideas for the Ryder Dress that I’ll be sharing with you soon!

Tory Burch is having a wonderful Fall promo where you can take 30% off your purchase of $250 or more, with code FALL16. I had just happened to visit the store last week and was able to try on some new arrivals as well as some recent markdowns.

~ Hallandale Dickey Sweater, Medium ~

Hearing the word “dickey” makes me think of 70s style. The silk-twill floral print is layered under a merino vest with a striped hem – layers without the bulk. The Medium fit well. The colors in the shirt portion are pretty and vibrant against the black background. Of course, if you prefer the actual layers you can choose the Azra Bow Blouse and Seine Sweater.

~ Silla Skirt, Black, size 8 ~

This skirt also comes in Redwood, which what I originally saw in the store. Unfortunately, they didn’t have a size 8 or 10 to try on in that color but there was an 8 in the black. The size 8 fit really well and the length is above the knee on me. The inverted pleats don’t puff out too much and the waist is detail with leather tabs and Gemini Links. I liked the black but do prefer the Redwood color.

~ Fleur Tunic, size 8 ~

I always look for an interesting tunic to try on when I’m in the store and found this one with little pom-poms. The metal the poms were attached to jingled. I didn’t walk around but did notice the jingling when I was tying the neckline. The floral print from the Dickey Sweater is embroidered at the shoulders and waist on the Fleur Tunic. The size 8 fit well in this cute cotton tunic.

~ Judson Silk Blouse, size 8 ~

This style of blouse doesn’t quite work with my chest. The front has a few hook-and-eye closures and you can see they are pulling just a bit. I would size to a 10 in this top to have a little more comfortable fit. The waistline is a little higher and there’s a pleat down the center on the bottom. This little babydoll top wasn’t really my style and I’m afraid that if I did size to a 10, it might get too loose.

~ Avery Stripe Sleeveless Tunic, size 6 ~

I have been watching this top since it arrived online. I resisted buying it full-price or with a promo even though I had several options to wear with this striped tunic. I finally tried it on last week and the size 6 fit well, making this tunic run big. It had also made another round of price cuts and was marked to $118. I still didn’t buy it. I think it’s a little too boxy and could have a little shape at the waist. Of course, buying this as an add-on, with the 30% off does make this tunic more appealing to add to my closet.

~ Gemini Link Printed Patent Loafers, size 7 ~

These Tortoise loafers were gorgeous IRL. They have the Gemini Link detail across the front and a stacked mid-heel. When you look at the bottom, the heel is shaped like a horseshoe. You’ll be lucky wherever you go when you wear these Tortoise Loafers.

You know I’ve tried in the past to find a great pair of patent tortoise flats. I think these are probably one of the best tortoise pair I’ve found. They aren’t flats, but are a comfortable 2 1/2-inch heel. They also went so well with everything I tried on. You’ll see more of these in tomorrow’s post.

tb_geminitortoise_2

If you don’t prefer the patent tortoise, there is also the solid loafer in Jtiney Green or Navy. There is also a flat loafer in black, redwood or calf-hair. If you want something different in the patent tortoise, try the bootie, pump or either (one, two) mule.

I’ll have a few dresses from Tory Burch for you tomorrow. Happy Friday!

Tory Burch is having a semi-annual sale and you can take 30% off sale items with code EXTRA30. This promo ends July 11.

~ Bridget Dress, Medium ~

This dress had me imagining a vacation to Greece. The Medium fit well and the neckline and hem are beautifully embroidered. I ended up passing on this dress to get the one below but I may have to go back to the store and buy this.

~ Gigi Shirtdress, Hudson Blue Linosa, (Lemon Curd) size 6 ~

I found this dress in-store, while the Lemon Curd is still available online. It’s really cute and perfect for the upcoming 4th of July holiday since it’s red, white and blue. It’s 100% Silk and unlined and has pockets. I was swimming in the size 8 so this does run Large. I tend to be more of a Medium/8 in Tory Burch and rarely size down.

~ Miller Sandals, Dulce de Leche, size 7 ~

I have been wearing my Miller Sandals in Brown Snakeskin almost daily. I love that they dress up any outfit. The Dulce de Leche are also called White but they are really a very pretty cream color. The difference between these and my snakeskin sandals is the double-T logo. On this sandal it’s hard and metal on top with very little give. There is no metal double-T logo on the brown sandal. These do run TTS.

I would suggest calling a store because I know there are items in the store that are no longer online. They can then try to find what you want in another store. This promo is not valid at the Tory Burch outlet.

Are you shopping this Tory Burch EXTRA30 promo?

A few weeks ago I stopped by Tory Burch to try on an off-the-shoulder top they had. I knew it would match the J.Crew linen shorts in Byzantine Copper perfectly. They also has the matching embroidered skirt in-store so I grabbed that to try as well.

~ Eliza Embroidered Top, size 6 ~

I found the top to fit surprisingly well in the size 6. I thought it would be tight across the chest when the top was pulled up, like in the second pic below. I know some off-the-shoulder tops are needing to be adjusted quite a bit to stay off the shoulder. Unfortunately, I was tugging on this one all day the first time I wore it. But in the top’s defense, I was holding a baby or playing with little kids most of the day. I think if I had worn this when I wasn’t so active then it would have stayed put.

TB_EmbroideredTop_3

It looks just as good not off-the-shoulder, making it wearable when that trend goes away. The top also comes in a bright red. The white is on sale here.

TB_EmbroideredTop_1

~ Cassie Embroidered Skirt, Medium ~

The Medium was a nice fit and wasn’t too full at the hips but I could have sized to a Small due to the elastic waist. The sides of this skirt are a little shorter than the front and back. Both items are embroidered in bright thread, making it stand out against the white background. This embroidered pattern also comes in a jean and dress. I found the skirt on sale here.

TB_EmbroideredSkirt_1

The sandals I’m wearing are the Pecha Sandal and sold out everywhere online. I’m wearing a size 7 and they were very comfortable for such a high heel. They also blended well with my skin-tone. I did have an issue with the ankle strap being too short so I passed on buying them. I’m happy with the J Crew Factory Stacked-Heel Sandals. There is a Pecha Mule available that my store had plenty of as well.

TB_EmbroideredSkirt_2

Shop more of my picks from Tory Burch! I have the Miller Sandal in Snakeprint but I also think the confetti print is cute for Summer.

I was given a gift card for my birthday so I am trying to decide from the picks above what I should buy. I’d like to buy on sale to have the money go farther and am leaning towards the striped Jackie Tank, and the embellished Hit the Road Tee.
