J Crew has a new promo that started today and runs through Sunday. Take 25% off $100 or 30% off $200 with code SHOPMORE. If you want to see what I’m considering, I’ve updated my August picks over on the side-bar –>. One of the items I included is the Indigo Vintage Cotton V-Neck Tee. The Indigo Tee actually comes in a variety of necklines as well as stripes and either short- or long-sleeve.

My store only had the V-Neck available. I thought I would have preferred the crewneck but once on, I really liked it. I wanted this to fit well and not very loose so the Small is the perfect fit to achieve that. The Vintage Cotton Tee is so very comfortable and I love the Indigo color. I would/will buy a long-sleeve version.
~ Patio Pant, Navy, size 6 ~

I’ve been waiting to try the Patio Pant since they first arrived in April/May. But my store never received them and they sold old very quickly online. They are back in stock in several colors. I like the comfort level of these, cotton with stretch, and the size 6 fits ok. If they came in petite I would prefer the 8 Petite. The inseam claims to be 25-inches but they run just slightly cropped wearing heels on my 5’2″ frame. Which is good because I would be lazy about getting them hemmed to the perfect length. I think the size 8 would be a better fit for the length to be just at the floor and to have a little room in the hips and thighs without them being too loose. If you do vary in pants size like I do, I would get your larger size. Especially, if you are hippy like me.

Overall, I liked both of these items and I did buy the Indigo V-Neck Tee. I am passing on the pants since I don’t have anywhere I would wear them regularly.

Here are my other reviews of recent items, if you are considering the SHOPMORE sale.

~ Cap-Sleeve Marble Print Top, size 6 ~

Once I knew the Chiffon Dress in Marble Print was not going to work out for me I put my hopes the blouse. The size 6 was a nice fit and not tight or pulling anywhere. I like the print but I just can’t understand why it’s put on Poly and then price over $100. Yes, it’s now machine-washable but this pricing poly material item as high as silk items is ridiculous.I’ll buy my J Crew poly at the Factory store.
~ Faux Leather Pleated Mini Skirt, Black, size 8 ~

I knew this skirt would not have any give in the waist and so I grabbed an 8 to try on. That was the right call. It hits me at my waist and stop about an inch above the knee. It’s normal length on me as opposed to “mini”. The black doesn’t look to “faux”. Sometimes you can tell when an item is not real leather from across the room. I like the pleating as it gives the skirt some movement. I can’t recall if this is lined. I don’t think it is. Overall, it’s a nice skirt and getting great reviews online.

I’m not in need of either of these but for some of you tall ladies, the skirt does come in Tall sizing.
Have a Great Day!

I ordered a pair of jeans and a skirt from Boden as well.

~ Wideleg Jeans, Vintage, size 8P ~
I do need some wideleg jeans and I have been looking for a nice pair to replace a GAP pair I have had for years. I was hoping the Boden pair would work out for me. This fit well in the waist but was a little snug down the hips and upper thigh. There’s a little stretch so that will work itself out. The length works well with heels but I would also want a pair to shorten and wear with flats. I was on the fence about the fading in front and back on the legs. I do recommend these if you are looking for a nice wideleg jean. I would stick with my Petite sizing on this one and on a re-order I would probably choose the Indigo. This comes in Black, Indigo and White.

~ Florence Skirt, Multi Seaside, size 6R ~
The print on this skirt is so pretty and the blues are very vibrant. Unfortunately, the pleats just weren’t working for me. The waist was a good fit in the size 6 and the length hit me just above the knee. I wish this had been an A-line skirt without the pleating.

This is lined in cotton and has pockets, which are a nice bonus. I wasn’t interested in any of the other prints in this skirt so this is a return and not an exchange. If you like this print, definitely get it. There was a scarf in this print that I should have bought. I would have worn that.

I think these orders were just a matter of timing for me and my personal style crisis I am trying to manage. I made the mistake of ordering some items while purging my closet and not re-assessing what I really need, other than the jeans. I still want to buy clothes like I work in an office, with people, when, in reality, I do not.

I’m not #BeautyBella so you know I am not one to recommend any beauty products I myself haven’t tried and love. I’ve raved about Benefit’s Big Beautiful Eyes and that is still the most constant in my routine. Since that post, I’ve changed cleansing and make-up.My face really started to react to the Neutrogena Bar so I had to stop using it. Then it started to react to the moisturizer I was using so I had to switch as well. I’m currently using CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and Eucerin Moisturizer but the CeraVe doesn’t remove all my make-up and the Eucerin, though it has an SPF, does not hydrate my skin very well. It tends to dry out during the day so I have to re-apply.

Enter L’Occitane. I’ve been using the hand cream here and there, especially in Winter for a few years now. Though there is a store here, I had no idea what else they sold. One day last week, I ventured in, since I needed to buy a larger tube of the hand cream and was hoping to find a hand soap for the guest bathroom. I found way more than I needed and unexpectedly found some new cleansing products.

I’m all for samples and was given several different ones with my purchase. I did see the Shea Cleansing Oil and the SA raved about it, and advised me on how to use it. Rub a single pump onto a dry face, including over your closed eyes to get to the eye make-up and mascara. Let it sit for a minute and then wet your hands and rub your face again to form a small lather. Rinse and you’re done. Not only did it gently remove all my make-up it, my face felt amazing after I used it. It wasn’t dried out and I almost went without moisturizer. That’s how great it felt.

The SA then gave me some samples of the Divine Cream. Wow! Seriously amazing stuff. After washing my face with the Cleansing Oil I put on the Divine Cream and my face felt even more amazing…very clean and moisturized. I should have been more stingy with my samples as I had no idea how much it was. As far as I’m concerned it’s worth the price and have already bought the full-sized jar, along with getting a few more samples for travelling.

Lastly, I bought the Foot Cream. It’s just as amazing as the hand cream. I failed to keep up with my foot care and have some rough heels right now. After 4 nights of using the foot cream, my rough heels are softening up. I’ll be sandal ready in no time.

I wore full make-up every day for 4 days and the Cleansing Oil and Divine Cream (until I ran out) were the only cleanser and moisturizer I used. My skin will react within a day, even when I do take my medication for Rosacea, if it doesn’t like what I’m using so I know these are keepers. I seriously wouldn’t recommend any of these products if I didn’t feel they were worth it. Especially with my very sensitive, Rosacea-inflamed skin.

I received several various samples and so I put them in the guest room and guest bathroom for that use. Sample and travel sizes are always fun to have and they have quite a few different packs to choose from as well.

I’ll stick with the skincare for now but may venture on to body cleansing and hair care. Did you know they have that stuff too?

Have a Great Day! Stay warm!

Knowing I really shouldn’t have, I bought a couple of Final Sale items last week. Here are the reviews, just in case you were contemplating these too.

I have had both the Navy and White on my wishlist since these came out. The reviews state these shorts run large and I somewhat agree. The waist fit well and I could have sized down to a 6 but that would be after having slimmed my tummy a little. The hips and thighs are very big and baggy but I think they are made that way. They aren’t supposed to be slimming. I think the size 8 was the right call for me and that is my consistent shorts size.

These white is very white and they are also lined, in polyester. I don’t understand why linen isn’t always lined in Cotton. Of course it’s cheaper but it should be a designer rule.

After some ironing, they will look nice with a slimmer top, since they are baggy through the thighs. Overall, I am glad I bought these and would love to get the Navy on a pop-back.

~ Collection Cashmere Featherweight Henley, Small, Neon Orchid and Heather Pearl ~

The first thing you’ll notice is that the featherweight cashmere is pretty sheer. I’m consistently in a nude bra and you can see it showing through. Of course, this is a sweater so it will be worn in Winter, which means layering will deal with the sheerness.

The description states a relaxed fit and I sized down to a Small. I won’t be layering anything but a thin tee under this so the sizing is perfect. These do have the drop-shoulder seam, which I’m normally against but they didn’t bother me in these. (I guess because they were both Final Sale.)

I love both of these colors and am contemplating buying either the Navy or Brilliant Blue.

~ Cotton Cropped Sweater, Medium, Navy ~
This was not Final Sale but I wanted to try it while it was on promo, with the discount. I knew the Navy would work better in my closet than the Caribbean Sand (tan) colorway. This is cropped, as you can see it hits the top of my waistband on the Bermuda Shorts in Italian Linen. The sizing is perfect in my normal Medium. You can see it is just slightly sheer but I’ll be layering this over the Silk Sleeveless Blouse in Solid-Vintage Cabernet and Heart Dot.

The back is just a tiny bit longer than the front, but not much. This is still pending as a keeper as I’m sure this “cropped top” trend will soon disappear.

So there you have it. I’m buying Final Sale so you don’t have to. Have you tried any of these Final Sale items?
