My local Anthropologie had it’s Spring Fashion Show on Thursday and I was excited to go. It was such a fun event and the models looked like they had a lot of fun. Here are just a few snaps from the event. I’ll be back with what I was able to try on.

~ Schatz Sleeveless TurtleneckPintura Ball Skirt ~

The is the stores personal stylist and that’s her dog she adopted at one of Anthro’s Adopt-a-Pet events.

Local Anthro card holders were invited to the event. They even picked some customers to be models. How exciting!

Have a Great Evening!

J Crew’s new promo, through Tuesday, April 14, is 25% off with SHOPNOW. There seem to be a few exclusions like Collection and third-party brands. I had placed and order as well as shopped in-store during the 25/30% off promo last week.

~ Perfect Shirt in Linen, White, size 8 ~
I have several of these in various colors. My favorites that I wear consistently are the Navy and White. At the end of last Summer I found a hole at the shoulder on my White shirt so I needed a new one. I’ll keep the other for a pool cover-up. That one is an 8 Petite and I may have caused the hole since it was getting a little snug in the shoulders. This new one is a size 8 and fits well. The white is very bright, maybe because it’s new. These really are a perfect Summer staple for me as I usually feel cooler in this shirt than a tee.

~ Metallic Linen Boyfriend Tee, Small ~

This just fit in the arms and might actually be a little snug. That’s me and not necessarily the shirt itself. I’d do better in a Medium just for a little more room in the arms, especially with that dropped shoulder. I wasn’t really thrilled with this overall but I will try the Medium on, if it’s in-store. I have the Metallic Linen V-Neck Sweater that I prefer to this tee.
~ Pull-on Short in Falling Flowers, Classic Ivory, size 8 ~
These were probably my favorite from the roll-out and though I’ve tried on the Factory Pull-On Shorts before and returned or passed on them, I really liked this Retail version. The size 8 fit well and though the inseam is 2 1/2 inches, you can drop the waistband to your hips for a little longer look. I really like the look of these and will probably get quite a bit of wear out of them this Summer.

Lastly is my Easter Sunday outfit. I wasn’t thrilled with the colors of the Stacked Sequin Shell but I did like the White/Grey of the Stacked Sequin Sweater. I bought a Small since the sweater looked really big in the Medium. It’s a nice fit throughout and stretch some too. The sweater is sheer so a nude bra or cami is needed. The Vintage Apricot color of the 4″ Chino Short is a perfect match to the sweater as well, as one of the sequins is the same color. I threw on a nude cami underneath and was pretty cool all day until the Cascarone fight. This is me and Husband right before we were smashed again.

I was able to swing by Madewell and try a few items on. I have never tried on their jeans and have to say that if and when I need a new pair, I will definitely go to Madewell first.

~ Slim Boyjean, size 29 ~

I really would like a new boyfriend jean. The ones I have are too long and I don’t like them enough to get them hemmed. The Slim Boyjean are just a little slimmer than regular boyfriend jeans and I like that. The are just baggy enough and if you want even slouchier you can go up a size. I like that Madewell has complimentary hemming if you buy in-store, which is what I would have done to these.

The size 29 was a great fit. I doubt that even if I lost weight, the 28 would fit across the hips. I like the lighter wash on these too.

I tried on the Crop Tee thinking maybe I could pull it off. It was almost long enough to do the trend but maybe with a higher rise jean it would work better for me. I have on a Small which was a nice fit. I like the basic of the gray also.

~ Skinny Skinny Crop, size 30 ~

Story of my life…Crop jeans that are normal length on me. These are actually PERFECT for regular length on me (left pic, left leg). I would probably have them hemmed to what the right leg shows so that they are cropped. I sized up to a 30 in these and they are a great fit. I think I might want a darker wash without the fading and light whiskering though.

A great first time for me with Madewell Jeans. I don’t need any right now and am trying to get rid of a few more pair but both the Slim Boyjean and Skinny Skinny Crop are next on my list when I do need jeans.
Do you have a favorite Madewell Jean to recommend?
