I found a few Madewell pics on my camera from a few weeks ago.

~ Shirred Maxi Dress, Dark Plum, Medium ~
This was on my wishlist early but made me look huge once I tried it on. The size is wrong and I should have grabbed a Small. The belt was also missing. Belted would give it a better shape on me. The color isn’t right for Spring either. It’s a Fall/Winter color. I do like that the slip only goes to the knee and not to the floor. I find a longer slip/lining only sticks to me and make me hotter.

~ Eyelet-Hem Stitched Peasant Top, Dusty Burgundy, Small ~
This looked cute on the hanger and I’m a sucker for Peasant Tops but this one was not a good fit. I think the sleeves don’t work with the top, for me and the pleating at the neckline only seems to add bulk on the lower part of the shirt. Maybe an Extra Small would work but overall, I don’t see myself wearing this on a consistent basis.

~ Geo-Lace Eyelet Tank, White, Medium ~
Oh to be young and hip enough to pull off wearing this tank. But I’m not so it was just fun to try it on. The Medium did fit well and I’d add a cami under, of course. There’s always the Geo-Lace Eyelet Dress

I know there is a new roll-out and I hope to get to the store soon to see what they have.

Have a Great Day!

I found two dresses to try-on, one of which had been in my wishlist.

This looked cute on the hanger but a sack when I tried it on. I definitely need to size down to a Small as it is really big everywhere. The chambray felt soft against the skin and the length hit just at the knee. It’s currently on sale, with today being the last for 20% off sale items. It’s a cute dress, but overall not a fit for me.

This dress has been on my wishlist since it first came out. It’s also on sale and though it was an “I need this dress.” when I first saw it, I wasn’t so enamored with it when I tried it on. The fit is good but could use some adjusting in places. I don’t think an Extra Small would adjust some of the fit issues in the chest or width either. I like the ombre’ effect on it but I can’t see wearing this if I brought it home.

A few more dresses I’ve added to my wishlist.
!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js’; var cb = new Date().getTime(); p += ‘?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);
What dresses have you tried lately at Anthropologie?

I have a couple of Shoes-day posts I’m behind on so let’s get started.

~ Calf Hair Double-Strap Sandal, size 7 ~

These were part of a new roll-out two roll-outs ago. I placed a decent sized order during both roll-outs since I had and extra percent off with the Gilt City coupon and then another email coupon last week. These are a dupe of the Camden Calf-Hair Sandal though the strap across the toes is thinner on the Factory version.

Though completely flat, these didn’t feel too uncomfortable. The strap across the instep wasn’t too tight on me either. The size 7 is my normal size.

I liked the look of these sandals but not on my feet. I think because they are completely flat they allow your feet to relax and spread. The straps then make my feel look even wider than they really are.

I do recommend these even though I don’t like them on me. I do have the Lillian Sandal in Calf-Hair and love those because they have just a little wedge, changing the look of my feet in the sandal.

These really don’t seem like a Factory sandal. I know that the upper is faux but they are still a nice looking pair of sandals.
What do you think of the Calf-Hair Double-Strap Sandal

~ Elevenses Windowpane Culottes, Ivory, size 8 ~
Culottes, Wide-Legs, Gauchos, non-skinny pants…I love them all! These were so pretty I had to try them on. They are cropped on the model and just a little cropped on me, hitting at my ankle-strap of my Terah Heels.  I would probably try the 8 Petite to bring up the length just a little. The size 8 was a good fit and these were really comfortable on. They are a linen blend so I think that there will be less wrinkling.

The waistband both inside and out are very pretty. They also come in Black.

~ Floreat Embroidered Lace Tee, White, size 6 ~
When I saw this tee I knew it was a perfect match for the Culottes. Considering the embellishment this was very lightweight on. Though sheer/see-through, the lace detail covers up the main areas.

The size 6 was a nice fit, draping well without any excess material making me look wider than I am. I probably could have pulled it down a little more to give myself a little leaner look on top.

What do you think of wide-leg trousers and culottes? Are you a fan? It’s a nice break from all the “skinny” we’ve been seeing the last few years.

I apologize. I had full intentions on posting right after the Fashion Show but sometimes you get in a rut. To pick up from the Anthropologie Fashion I have some try-ons.

The store was pretty busy, of course, after the Fashion Show so I quickly walked the store to find some things to try on.

~ Embroidered Shorts, size 8 ~
I think these are by Elevenses but I didn’t grab a pic of the inside tag. These are high-waisted and look to have about a 4 to 5-inch inseam. I liked the fit of these on until I started moving around. The waist kept shifting and the hem/inseam of the shorts kept riding up. I don’t want to have to fidget with my shorts all day. Though I loved the embroidery and colors of the shorts they are a pass. (As soon as I found out what these are I’ll update with a link.)

Pretty pops of neon pink throughout.
I loved these linen pants. I think it was not only the color but the embroidery along the side. Though they are crops the size 29 hit me right at the floor. These are a relaxed fit and though I might be able to fit into a 28, I like the relaxed look of the 29s. If I were to get these, I’d have to probably get them hemmed to be cropped. There is a button holding up the hem so that would have to go, along with the strap. Usually you see this on shirts.

I saw Ivory and Wine in-store and there is also Green showing up online. They Grey is my favorite color of the four.
Lynden Chambray Tank, White, Medium ~

Online there is only the light denim color but I did find White in-store. I wanted something neutral to try on with the bottoms I grabbed and chose this tank. It’s not really a favorite of mine. The fit is ok but it just kind of hung there. It definitely needs a cardigan or pretty jewelry to liven it up. The Medium is a good fit but I think I could size to a Small to deal with the gaping at the arms.

~ Maeve Fluttered Maya Blouse, Neutral Motif, size 8 ~
I love the look of the flowy-ness of this blouse. It comes in both solids and several print options. The size 8 fit well but I think I could size down to a Petite or a size 6. I do like how the flutter-sleeve covers my upper arms but overall, I think I can do better. I have added it to my wishlist hoping to catch it on sale.

And what I wore to the Fashion Show. The Nimbin Peasant Blouse was in the 2013 Fashion Show and it was the one item I bought that day. I’ve worn it several times but have never posted a Que Bella. The shorts are the J Crew Pleated Structured Short from a few years ago. {Factory} The shoes are from Anthropologie last year, the Terah Heels. They are perfect for transitioning into Spring with an open-toe but not fully a sandal.

Have a Great Day! I have a lot of goodies to review over the next few days! Hope you come back by!
