Anthropologie SALE!

Wow! Lots and lots of stuff showed up on sale atuesday atbAnthro. My SeesTheSale.com wishlist emails kept coming. With a birthday gift card burning a hole in my pocket I ventured over to Anthro Tuesday afternoon to see what I could find.

North Coast Skirt by HD in Paris, Sz 8 – I tried this skirt on a month or so ago in a 6 and never showed pics as it was waaaay too tight. The size 8 fit well and the Lobster on the front is cool.
Leadlight Cropped Top, Sz 8; Leadlight Maxi Skirt, Sz 8P – I’ve had the skirt for a while but haven’t worn it. I took it with me debating on whether to return it or not. I decided to try it with the Cropped Top expecting to not like it as my body is not in “crop-top shape” but, as you can see, it’s not bad. The skirt sits higher on the waist, almost meeting the bottom of the top, showing very little mid-section. The cut-outs, on the other hand, are very va-va-voom. I’m still debating on keeping both of them but, as one of the SAs stated, it’s “a patio outfit” and I do have one of those.
Musa Dress, Sz 6 – I tried the top in this print a few weeks ago and was disappointed that it didn’t work out for me. The dress though, fit surprisingly well, considering I was told it might be tight in the bust or under the arms. I am always a fan of bat-wing/kimono/butterfly sleeves.
Fern & Flower Dress by HD in Paris, Sz 6 – This dress has such a casual vibe to it and is perfect for summer. It’s silky and comfortable and just an easy dress to wear.
Bike Lane Dress, Sz 8 – Probably the 3rd time I’ve tried this dress on. And even for $75 I still left it at the store. I think it’s just too whimsical for me. Maybe if it was just a skirt? I don’t know.
And what I wore Tuesday. Though it’s way hot I still felt comfortable and cool in the Jardin Maxi Skirt. By adding the Sequin Anchor Top and my Valentino Bow Flip-Flops I contributed to the keeping cool factor.
What did you find at the Anthropologie sale?

Thanks for all the reviews and pics, Audrey! I think everything looks wonderful on you, but my favorites are the 'patio outfit' and Musa dress. What did you end up getting?

I bought the Morning Story Dress, which seems to be a similar silhouette to the Musa Dress. I didn't see the Musa when I was in the store, otherwise I would have tried it on, too.

FFM – I love the Morning Story Dress on you. I couldn't find one in my store but the racks were so close together I might have missed one. I ended up getting everything except for the Bike Lane Dress, which I'm still thinking over. I also think I can add a Seamless cami under the top of the Leadlight Cropped Top and feel a little less exposed. We'll see.

I won't get to a store until this weekend, but I did call around and manage to track down a Braxton Top in the blue polka dot print. Not worth $80, but for $30 I think I can deal with dry-clean-recommended rayon and easy wrinkling.

I like the Braxton Top too and was hoping to find it in the yellow in my store. I hope the Blue Polka Dot is just as pretty as the image coloring.

The lobster skirt is too much fun!!! Oh my gosh – it made me smile! I think it all looks wonderful on you! I so wish the closest Anthro wasn't 7 hours away…

WMM – Oh no! Seven hours is awful. I feel your pain. When I lived in Tennessee the closest one was in Nashville, 2 1/2 hours away and I never went there. After 5 months we went to Atlanta and that was my only Anthropologie visit until we moved back to Texas. I mainly shopped the catalog/online while I was away. I love having one so close (10 minutes) and am able to try on most everything I'm interested in.

So, how would you wear the Lobster skirt? Of course a navy top came to mind as well as a chambray blouse or button-down shirt. But what else?

I like bicycle dress. It's very cute. It reminds me of the dress Victoria Beckham designed with the cats on it.

Angie – Wasn't that just a cute dress? I just can't put my finger on it but as much as I love the Bike Lane Dress there's something too…something…about it. KWIM?

I love the lobster skirt! Do you know how much it was?

The bicycle dress is cute, but like you, I think it's something I would admire and not own.

mommydearest – It was $29.99. Not including the 25% off…such a steal! Like I said I tried on the 6 which is my normal pencil skirt (J Crew) size but it was way too tight. The 8 was a lot better fit.

    • July 10, 2012 / 1:22 am

Thank you! In the 30 off at JCrew excitement, I totally forgot to call around for this skirt. Fingers crossed I can find one. Would you mind giving me the waist and hip measurements of your 8? Post-baby sizing is tricky…

    • July 11, 2012 / 12:46 am

Mommydearest – Sorry for replying so late. The waist measures 15 1/2 inches laying flat and the hips are 18 1/4. HTH!!

Not late at all :). Thank you so much!!!

Audrey – I see some yellow (lobster butter?). And a lovely aqua?

Hey fit twin, I have the lobster skirt, too. It was way tight. Can't recall what size I ended up with. Maybe a 10 at this point in time! My jaw dropped when I saw you in the Leadlight pieces. Wow! Maybe you can wear them separately? I don't know. They just seem like a keeper.
