If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen this outfit already but I wanted to share the details with all of you. I have been wearing shorts all Summer long and am ready for long pants. I’ve been testing the waters with wearing jeans topped with a sleeveless top and that seems to be keeping me cool.

I really love the Carrie Cami in Watercolor Floral. I think the colors in it complement my skin tone well and they really pop when worn with white. The sandals are from J Crew and I love the color. They are some of my favorites though I don’t wear them enough.

This Navy short-sleeve pocket cardigan is from J Crew of yore; maybe 2008? I really love it and wish they would bring this back. The Factory had them about three years ago and I only grabbed one, in White. I thought they’d keep offering them but they haven’t been back since. I keep my hopes up during each new release, especially in Spring.

I was pretty comfortable in this outfit for the evening. The sweater was so lightweight I barely noticed I had it on.
Hope everyone is having a Great Day!

I tried the Sunday Slim Chinos on last week and loved the feel of them. They feel like I’ve already washed them a thousand times. The fit is a little weird. There was only a size 6 as the biggest size in the Baked Terracotta. I tried them on and they fit. They are just a tiny bit snug but from current experience and the reviews online, they do stretch some. The size 8 would have stretched out way too much. I usually wear a size 8 in pants so I recommend you size down one. They come in Petite and Tall as well as Metallic Trim and Painted. Really???

I wanted to share with you how I recently styled the Sunday Slim Chinos for both day and night. The Perfect Shirt in Linen is one of my favorites and I had to replace the white one I had from a few years ago that got a hole in the shoulder. I use it now for a swim cover-up when we have guests over. I added my Tory Burch Tortoise Thora Sandals that I bought several years ago. I wore my Thora Sandals constantly every Summer, until I found my current Birks. I rolled these three times but may get them hemmed to regular length so the cuff doesn’t look so bulky.

I swapped my Thora’s for the Factory Isabelle Raffia Pumps and added the Tortoise Flower Necklace to meet Husband for dinner that evening. Super easy swap and I still look nicely put together.

And I wanted to share with you my new sunglasses from Loft – the Ombre Retro Sunglasses. I wear my sunglasses daily and needed a new pair. I found these for $16 at the Loft a few weeks ago and love them. They are just the right amount of dark and both the frames and lenses go from dark to clear.
Sadly, the Sunday Slim Chinos are not included in the current J Crew promo of 30% off your purchase over $125. I do plan on getting at least one more pair but am just deciding on a color.

Have you tried the Sunday Slim Chino?

The Soft Lamé Shirtdress immediately went on my wishlist the moment I saw it online. I knew it was the one item I really wanted to see IRL. And it did not disappoint. The style is similar to the Short-Sleeve Cotton Shirtdress that I have in both Navy and White, especially the sleeves. I do have a little bit of a difficult time getting it over my head so I’m glad the zipper in back was added to this shirtdress.

I also love the look of this dress with flats. You don’t always want to wear heels so it’s nice to know that flats will work really well this dress too! The material does have a nice “soft” feel to it though it seems a little silly to name it that. The shirttail hem is slightly longer in the back than the front.

A good sign that I love an item is when I wear it right away. Husband and I went to a local show last night and I wore this dress. I paired it with my Lillian Calf-Hair Sandals (splurge, save) and the Tortoise Flower Necklace. I loved the whole look! The clutch is old J Crew, circa Summer 2008.

I’m off to get a haircut today! I can’t believe it’s already August 1st already. We are headed into 100 degree temps this week. That’s my cue to get out of the sun and enjoy the pool in the evenings and night.
I’ll be back by Monday to review some more J Crew Retail items!

Last Wednesday was our 15th Wedding Anniversary. Unfortunately, Husband had to leave for San Francisco early in the morning so we were unable to celebrate until he returned on Friday. We had dinner on the Riverwalk and went to see John Mulaney later that night. As soon as I tried on the Drapey Crepe Oxford Jumpsuit, I knew that I wanted to wear it for our night out.

It was pretty warm and humid that evening so the sleeveless worked well. I laughed so much in the theater that it kept me warm enough. The jumpsuit was long so I did a quick hem with double-sided Hollywood tape. I love the length and dropped it off at the tailor to get it properly hemmed.

I chose the Shilling Bib Necklace, which I bought on a whim after seeing it styled in the store. The bracelets are the Sparrow Cuff and a C.Wonder initial cuff. The clutch is actually a wallet/cross-body from Tory Burch that I purchased during the SPRING event. The cross-body strap came in very handy when we were walking around downtown.

The shoes are Talbot’s from a few years ago. They were the worst to wear! The front of the criss-cross strap dug into the top of my toes causing blisters. Husband said the restaurant and theater were near each other when they were actually several blocks from each other. I’ll have to find another pair that are similar, since I really like them.

Despite the shoe issues, I really loved this outfit and the anniversary celebration was wonderful.

I came up with a few outfits, planned all via my Stylebook app. This first one is super casual with Gladiator Flats and a denim jacket. This is actually a great outfit for my trip next week to San Diego. Husband has a work trip and I’m tagging along. What should I do with my time during the day?

I knew I wanted to pair Leopard with this Jumpsuit as well and I already have the Lillian Wedge Sandal in Calf-Hair from J Crew. I love the turquoise-colored stone necklace to bring some unexpected color on top of the black. The Cross-body ties all the colors together.

~ Lillian Wedge Sandal, J Crew (Seychelles, Loeffler Randall, J Crew)

Of course Espadrilles like the Sevilles from J Crew will work well too. I wore the Metallic Espadrilles in the fitting room and it worked. I think the Bright Citrus from last year will look great with the Jumpsuit too.

Any thoughts on how you would style the Drapey Crepe Oxford Jumpsuit? I’d love to hear them.

I apologize. I had full intentions on posting right after the Fashion Show but sometimes you get in a rut. To pick up from the Anthropologie Fashion I have some try-ons.

The store was pretty busy, of course, after the Fashion Show so I quickly walked the store to find some things to try on.

~ Embroidered Shorts, size 8 ~
I think these are by Elevenses but I didn’t grab a pic of the inside tag. These are high-waisted and look to have about a 4 to 5-inch inseam. I liked the fit of these on until I started moving around. The waist kept shifting and the hem/inseam of the shorts kept riding up. I don’t want to have to fidget with my shorts all day. Though I loved the embroidery and colors of the shorts they are a pass. (As soon as I found out what these are I’ll update with a link.)

Pretty pops of neon pink throughout.
I loved these linen pants. I think it was not only the color but the embroidery along the side. Though they are crops the size 29 hit me right at the floor. These are a relaxed fit and though I might be able to fit into a 28, I like the relaxed look of the 29s. If I were to get these, I’d have to probably get them hemmed to be cropped. There is a button holding up the hem so that would have to go, along with the strap. Usually you see this on shirts.

I saw Ivory and Wine in-store and there is also Green showing up online. They Grey is my favorite color of the four.
Lynden Chambray Tank, White, Medium ~

Online there is only the light denim color but I did find White in-store. I wanted something neutral to try on with the bottoms I grabbed and chose this tank. It’s not really a favorite of mine. The fit is ok but it just kind of hung there. It definitely needs a cardigan or pretty jewelry to liven it up. The Medium is a good fit but I think I could size to a Small to deal with the gaping at the arms.

~ Maeve Fluttered Maya Blouse, Neutral Motif, size 8 ~
I love the look of the flowy-ness of this blouse. It comes in both solids and several print options. The size 8 fit well but I think I could size down to a Petite or a size 6. I do like how the flutter-sleeve covers my upper arms but overall, I think I can do better. I have added it to my wishlist hoping to catch it on sale.

And what I wore to the Fashion Show. The Nimbin Peasant Blouse was in the 2013 Fashion Show and it was the one item I bought that day. I’ve worn it several times but have never posted a Que Bella. The shorts are the J Crew Pleated Structured Short from a few years ago. {Factory} The shoes are from Anthropologie last year, the Terah Heels. They are perfect for transitioning into Spring with an open-toe but not fully a sandal.

Have a Great Day! I have a lot of goodies to review over the next few days! Hope you come back by!
