The Boy is off to his first “non-birthday” party. I’m not worried because he’s a good kid and makes good decisions (most of the time). I’m a little excited for him. But mostly…I’m just sad. My baby is growing up. When he was little, time went by so slow. Now it seems like one big blur.

He went from this.

To this…

Sigh…high school is next, then driving and girls, then college and his own life. Have fun kiddo.
I’m off to convince Husband to take me to SATC 2…or shopping. Something to cheer me up.
Have a FANTASTIC evening and a GREAT holiday weekend!

I saw the Castle Lake Dress at Anthro when I was there last week but didn’t try it on. Then I saw it Kathleen over at Princess of Taylor and she looked fantastic in it so I had to try it. I returned the Girls of Savoy Bindwood Blouse and found a Small and Medium in the Castle Lake Dress, currently on sale for $89.95.

Dress: Castle Lake Dress by Floreat from Anthropologie
Cardigan: J Crew Outlet Jackie in White
Shoes: Corso Como Espadrilles
I wore this to the office Thursday. I felt like I should be vacationing in the Mediterranean with this dress on. The print is lovely and the colors are so pretty. The rope detail at the neck makes it unique.
The first image is from Anthropologie and it shows the keyhole in the front, as does the catalog image, but the tag is there so that is actually the back. Weird, huh? I wanted to wear flat sandals with it but didn’t have anything but flip-flops. Some Miss Trish sandals from Target would have been really cute. I have a pair of Miu Miu that don’t really fit but I can’t bear to get rid of them right now. I mean, they kind of fit, but not in a go-to-shoe kind of way? So now that’s two new pairs of shoes on my list to search for – cute flat sandals and black sling-back sandals.
Today and the weekend are all about shorts and tees for me. It’s raining and The Boy wants to go shopping. I did not mis-type. The Boy asked me to take him shopping. He’s invited to an end-of-year party that is a “White Party”, a-la P. Diddy/Puff Daddy/whatever his name is. Everyone dresses in white. I found some white/off-white shorts but he wants to find something better. Apparently his friends are all talking about this and he’s excited to go. So, shopping it is with The Boy.
Have a great day!

After going several years (10, and it was mine) without a wedding in the family, we have had 3 in 18 months with two more coming up in October and November. It’s nice to be with family and I have a large extended family. Turns out my immediate family is pretty big now too. We filled the entire church pew Saturday.

We all get dressed up, laugh, eat, drink, dance, gossip (I know, that’s bad.), take pictures and enjoy the entire event. It’s so much fun. Here are just a few pictures, including what I wore.

Have a great weekend!

I was in my Anthropologie store making some returns and saw the Off-the-Tie-Rack blouse styled with a sweater. I absolutely loved it. I’ve been wanting to wear the blouse but the weather is just not co-operating. Now, of course, you are thinking “A sweater would be nice over it during the Spring.” but it was the WAY it was styled. Just watch…

Here’s the Polyvore.

2.26.2010 OOTD by audreybella featuring J Crew & Anthropologie

Here is how it is online. I wrapped the sash around one more time so the bow is smaller on me.

Here is how the SA told me to tie the bow. Just a simple knot.

Here is the way it was styled yesterday.

They used a shawl cardigan but since I already had a long J Crew cardi I saw no need (yay!) to buy the one they used – as tempting as it was.

Since it is a bit windy I added the Eden blazer. They are very convenient for layering and grabbing at the last minute when you’re going out the door. I would get another but I have the Ecole in the Brown and my Wool Schoolboy in Redwood should be coming today.

I had some success yesterday with the boy. I bought him “adult” jeans at American Eagle and not only did they fit but he liked the style and wash! AND…today I got him to wear a belt. He has this pair, his favorite, that he has been wearing EVERY.SINGLE.DAY! He washes them at least once during the week but he walked out of the house yesterday with his “pants on the ground”. And, of course, the bus was just about to show up so it was either 1) Get after him and make him change which would mean he would miss the bus and I’d have to take him or 2) Let it go for one more day. I let it go. He’s taller than me and has a deep voice now so I pick my battles. ;o)

Have a great day!
