I’ve liked the Janey Flats since they were introduced but they felt “fancy” to me. I usually wear heels when needing a “fancy” shoe and not a flat. After seeing the Printed Flats in Vanilla Multi, but what was really the Mai Tai print, in the catalog, I looked for them online during the last big roll-out a few weeks ago. They snuck in last week and were immediately sent to sale during the 40% off/Final Sale.

Here’s the stock pic. Notice the blues are more prominent in the print.
And here are mine. Not so “Blues-y”; more “pink-y”.

The lighter portion of the silk-cotton is more prominent at the front. You can also see the pattern doesn’t match up. That doesn’t bother me as this is a fabric and it would be hard to manipulate each piece to match on each shoe.

The heels are plastic and not leather. Not sure why I noticed as every pair of flats I own, except for my Louboutins, have a plastic heel; even the pumps/heels from various brands.

I took my normal size 7. There’s a little room at the heel but that’s nothing an insert can’t fix. A 6 1/2 is tight at the front.

I do like these I just wish they were bluer. Though these were Final Sale I am thinking of calling to see if they can’t do an exchange for a pair that has more Navy in the print.
What do you think about the Janey Printed Flats? Anyone try these?

Hi all! I back from my vacation in NYC and had an Amazing time! Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to do a whole lot of shopping but was able to hit up one J Crew.

I found an “old school ‘Crew” print from Spring 2006 there.
The Pineapple Print Skirt

The updated version of the Pineapple Print Skirt is shorter in length but seems to have the same silhouette. I took an 8 but could have probably sized to a 6. Because my experience wasn’t very positive in this store the skirt was the only thing I bought. The Boy was with me and I would have gladly bought him the Ludlow Suit he wanted if my initial service had been better. (#52857, $158-Not sure if it’s worth that price but wanted to bring it home anyway to try it.)

You can see it on Egyptomaniac, Ginger Girl, and M of Apples and Pencil Skirts. I love how differently each of them styled this skirt. Since J Crew seems to be bringing back some favorite prints is the Giverny far behind? Wendy and I can only hope.

If you didn’t catch my trip via Instagram, I hope to have a re-cap over the weekend.
Have a Great Evening!

During the #JCrewStyleSession two weeks ago, my VPS and Store Manager both wanted me to try the Carrie Dress in Big Dot. I was unaware at the time that it was the same style as the dress in Hawaiian Sunset and originally was not a fan of that print. Because of this dress, I know am.

The color is Ivory and the dots seem black to me. I haven’t seen it outside yet so it could be navy. Gigi also tried it on here. You can see that the dots on Gigi’s dress in the same places and the online shot shows the same placement. To me the dot placement at the waist gives the illusion of being slimmer. I have on the size 6. Because this fits just exactly at the top I think it seems to be more of an A-line silhouette on me, flaring out starting at the bust.

The racer-back means a strapless bra, unless you are brave enough to go without one. The length is normal for me but will be shorter on taller ladies.

This vest is the Sleeveless Linen Blazer from Banana Republic in 8 Petite. I was able to get this during one of the promos from last week. I also tried on the 6 and the Petite is about an inch shorter in length and I am able to easily close the one-button as opposed to a slightly tighter fit on the 6. I really like this blazer and is perfect for being a little more dressy during the summer. The color is white and though it contrasts a little with the color of the dress it still works.BR usually has 40% off on Wednesday’s though the Women’s Blazers are usually excluded from the promo online.

This is a great dress for me and the style made me try on the Hawaiian Sunset dress, though in a size smaller as mine was already sold out in store.
Have you seen this in-store? Willing to give it a try?

Milly Camila Pelican Printed Top – Every critter collector needs a Pelican right?

Well, I definitely thought I needed some Pelicans in my closet. Luckily, this Splurge turned to a Purchase during a Neiman Marcus 1-Day Spree Sale. I was able to snag this gorgeous silk Pelican blouse for 30% off. This is a 100% Silk Crepe-de-Chine blouse with a loose, relaxed fit. This was my first Milly purchase and was unsure about sizing. But since the description stated “relaxed” I went with the size 6. I am very happy as the 8 would have been over-sized on me.
This has a high-low hem line and I could have used about an inch more in length to be more comfortable with tucking this in. The sides are notched so raising my arms pulled the shirt out exposing skin through the notches. Not too much of a big deal. I have plans to wear this blouse with my Pleated shorts in White and Black and will probably lightly tuck in the front and leave the back loose and un-tucked. You’ll see that soon.
I had a quick little trip to the office so I wore my new shrunken (thanks Kathy!!!) Cafe’ Trousers, Louboutin Puglia’s and an old JC yellow belt.
How about these Pelicans? Are they for you?

Go on and Splurge…I did!

After missing out on the Etta in Hummingbird I knew I at least wanted to see the Etta IRL. My store didn’t carry them so an online order had to be placed. Luckily the Collection Etta Snakeskin Pumps are on sale for $249.99 plus the 30% off. I hadn’t used my Rewards Card so my total was $149.99 plus tax. A great deal for a beautiful shoe.

I took my normal size 7. The heel comes to 3 1/2 inches with the slight 1/4 inch platform but it does still pitch you forward just a bit. Posture is definitely key with these shoes.

This first image was taken without flash. The color is called Deep Violet but as you can see it reads more Blue.  The rest of the images were taken with flash.

The insole is cushioned and the heel is nice and chunky to help steady you, if needed. These are a great addition to my Shoe Wall.
What do you think of the Etta’s?
