Is everyone shopped out from all the Black Friday deals? Ready for today, Cyber Monday? I have two C/M deals I’m waiting on, as the times for roll-out for what I’m looking for are staggered all day. Crazy but it creates hype. I hope I get what I’m looking for as it’s a gift for The Boy. I’ll share if I get it.

Here are a few more items from the Holiday roll-out that I tried on a week or so ago. First is the Gold Stripe Mini Skirt. The first two images are a Size 8 and it ran a little big, surprisingly. I always take an 8 in the Mini skirt but this ran big on me around the waist and hips. I think it’s the pleats, (Not an Anchorman reference…haha.)

My VPS paired it with the Tippi Sweater in Vintage Cabernet and the Stretch Perfect Shirt in White. I love the work-appropriateness of this outfit. Add black tights and tall boots and it’s perfect.

These next two images are the size 6 of the skirt and I felt much better in it. My VPS had another outfit for this making it super casual with the Hugo Guinness Linen Tee and the Schoolboy Blazer in Black. I’d pair this outfit with some booties instead of tall boots.

The Minnie Pant in Medallion Print, size 8, felt very comfortable on. This was a little saggy in the front but just fit in the waist so maybe an 8 Petite would be the best fit. I ended up passing on these as I didn’t feel like I would wear them enough with such a bold/bright bottom.

Lastly, is the Tweed Flare Dress, size 6, which just fit through the chest and waist. I think I’d try sizing to an 8 to see if the fit was just a touch looser on top. Or just Spanx it. I do like the fit and flare of this dress and added it to my Wishlist.

I did purchase the skirt so look for it in some upcoming Que Bellas!
Happy shopping today!

Today I have some sweaters from the Holiday roll-out. The Vintage Holiday Sweater is super cute and one I was able to pick up in-store before it showed up online. I have it paired with the Crinkle Boy Shirt in Red Plaid. I took a Medium in the sweater and a size 8 in the shirt, both my normal size.

Next is the Side-Button Sweater in Colorblock, size Medium, in Dark Poppy. I preferred the Gray (don’t see it online) but passed overall on this. I like that you can just throw this on and it has enough visual interest to not make you get bored with wearing it, like the elbow patch and the side buttons.

I tried the Merino Fair Isle Sweater in both colors and loved the way my VPS styled the black sweater. This color, Midnight Red, looked more like Purple Red to me. I have on a Medium.

My VPS paired the black colorway of the sweater with Crinkle Boy Shirt in Black Check. I loved this pairing so much I bought both and wore them both the next day.

Lastly, is the Merino Embroidered Lace Sweater, Medium, in Apricot Mist Black. I tried this on as a gift idea for MamaBella. I like the contrast of the pink and black better than the red/black or blue/black colors.

Have you tried any of these sweaters?

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek to the Holiday Guide. Looks like those are now online and there’s a nice promo of 30% with HOLIDAY!

I have a few reviews but wanted to get these first two out there in case anyone needed to make a decision.

First up is the Italian Silk Secretary Blouse in Tapestry Print. I debated between this blouse and the Collection Italian Silk Shirtdress in the same print. I settled on the blouse because I knew I would get more wear out of it as opposed to the dress.

I ordered a size 8 and the fit is good although an 8 Petite would be a better fit as the sleeves are a little long.

The print is divine and the silk is gorgeous. I am so happy I ordered this blouse as it is so beautiful and will go well with my current black/gray wardrobe.

Next, is the Collection Tuxedo Topcoat. Dani has been posting a nice series on coats for various functionality. Her latest is Dress Coats and this most certainly fits the bill. She has a beautiful black coat from Brooks Brothers that she got for a song. I have the Wool Blazecoat that I wear on cold days but I don’t have anything for dressier events. This Topcoat certainly fits the bill.

I ordered the size 8 and though it’s a little tight in the shoulders (story of my life) there is room in the arms and body for layering. This is the perfect length to cover all my skirts and dresses. I think it will also look chic with skinny jeans.

I am very happy I ordered both of these. I think the pattern of the blouse might be my favorite from the Fall/Winter/Holiday collection.
Have a Great Thanksgiving!

One of my favorite tops to wear is a peasant blouse. The looseness and flowiness make it so easy to throw on over jeans, skirt or shorts, depending on the weather. So when I saw the Embroidered Peasant Top in Green Plaid show up with the new arrivals two weeks ago I ordered it, even though the 25% promo was pulled early.

I ordered the 8 Petite in the Green Plaid which is perfect for Christmas and the Holidays. It has bracelet sleeves and a hook-and-eye closure at the collar. The material feels gauzy and is on the thin side though not completely see through. I liked the fit and would probably be a good fit in the size 6 as well so I would say this is TTS.

In a sea of Dry Clean only, this top is machine washable.

Is it worth the $110? No. I think this should have been under $100 at original price. Luckily, this top was added to the Winter Favorite this week so I was able to get a price adjustment. There’s only one or two other items from the new arrivals I have my eye on but I’ll wait for a promo, which I would hope happen this week for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, as it did last year.

Have you tried this Peasant Top or the one in Stripe? There’s also a matching Green Plaid one for little Girls.

**Perfect timing for this as Talbots now has 30% off for their Friends & Family event until 11/17.

I made my way to Talbots last weekend to return the Curvy Duopioni Ankle Pants in Candy Apple. I assessed my party-wear and it just didn’t make the cut. The Black were a better choice to keep. That’s not to say I won’t reconsider if they go on sale. MamaBella found her pants this Summer on a very deep discount, less than $40 I think. Since I was there I tried on a few things that caught my eye.

Bunny Sweater, Medium Petite – This cute little Bunny Sweater will be good until Easter. I liked the fit of the Petite as the sleeves were just right and the length was not too long.

Buffalo Plaid Skirt, 8 Petite – I love the colors of this skirt. The Cobalt Blue mixes well with the grays and black. 8 Petite is definitely my Talbots size for bottoms.

Houndstooth Pencil Skirt, 8 Petite (on sale) – I really really liked this Houndstooth skirt. I’m so used to seeing Black/White in this pattern and love the Brown and Camel mix instead.

Plaid A-Line Skirt, 8 Petite (on sale) – This A-Line skirt only had a slight A-Line shape. I originally thought it was a pencil skirt. Loving the brown tones in this skirt.

Plaid Pencil Skirt, 8 Petite – The teal was very vibrant in this skirt but the 8 Petite was really tight in the hips. It seems like it might have been mis-sized. I don’t have a need for any of these skirts but they were great to try on and confirm my size at Talbots.

Medallion Matelasse’ Skirt, 8 Petite – I saw this skirt in the regular section and went back to the Petites to find it. It’s so beautiful and a perfect fit. I will have this hemmed about an inch or to and then it will be perfect.

Castle Plaid Puffer Vest, Medium Petite – This vest immediately caught my eye as I walked in the store. I knew I wouldn’t be leaving without it. I love that the Princess seams give an illusion of curves instead of a straight boxy look.

What do you think of these items from Talbots? Have you been shopping there lately?
