Hope everyone had a great weekend. I can’t believe March is almost here. I promise I’ve been getting dressed in actual clothes most days so here are a few good ones.

I cannot remember where I wore this but I was very happy with it. I think the orange and pink great together and the little hints of leopard sort of calm it all down. I had this scarf on my Christmas wishlist but I knew it would be a popular item so I bought it for myself. It has orange, pink and green and they all blend so well together.

This is what I wore to my Anthropologie visit. It was a pretty warm day and I was happy to break out my new Loft purchases.
J Crew Cece Suede Ballet Flats, Wild Berry
We had a family wedding two weekends ago and I wore my $28 J Crewlet find, the Tinsel Lace Dress. And check out my handsome boy Young Man, who is wearing his first suit. It was a gift from his Godfather and I took it for alterations that came out great. He was pretty excited about it as well.

I wore this last week and loved it. This was a surprise find for me from Old Navy. I love this dress so much I bought it in Printed Black, Solid Black and Solid Red aka Crimson and Clover. This was also in a gorgeous Grape color as well but it sold out quickly in my size. I will be wearing these dresses constantly through the Spring and Summer. The fit is amazing and the dress is a soft Cotton/Modal blend. This is also my first wrap dress. I really wanted this DVF dress but I will happily settle for 4 wrap dresses from Old Navy at $25 each!
The Limited Cami, White
Kate Spade Kiki Suede Wedges, Taupe

That “wraps” up some OOTDs from the past few weeks. Have you seen/tried the Old Navy wrap dresses yet?

Many years ago I disliked Cashmere very much because it was too itchy. My opinion has since changed and I love wearing it alone or layered. I must have had a bad batch or something because cashmere is no longer itchy to me but so soft and cozy. I could wear it all day, every day. And I pretty much have been doing just that.

Right now I am a J Crew snob and only have J Crew Cashmere BUT I do want to try other brands (Talbots, LE, etc.) if I can find just the right color. I have purchased at least one “fun” color and one “staple” color a year. I have a range of Tees (short and long-sleeve), Cardigans, V-Neck Sweaters, and Shawl Collar Sweaters. I have only bought my Cashmere on sale or with a % off or both (as it seems to be with JC these days). The rest I have found on ebay, quite the treasure trove out there, but I know you KWIM.

As far as my “fun” colors, I have Bright Dahia, Deep Poppy, a true Red from Old Navy, Jalapeño, Viridian Green or something similar to that, Dark Orange, Pink and Turquoise. For my “staple” colors, I have Snow (white), Black, Navy, Heather Caramel (camel), Cobblestone (gray) and Green. I like the fun colors because they do liven up a pair of jeans or pants.

So, I found some time to take 3 outfit pics this week. I am lucky I have found made the time to get dressed every day. But each day I’ve had little errands to run so I’m not doing it at the last minute on Christmas Eve.

Monday…I felt patriotic but very warm and cozy. My legs were a little cold and could have used tights and boots instead of flats. I LOVE the Flair Skirt. It was a sizing issue for me that made me originally not like it but when I found my perfect size I was happy with the fit and “flair” of it all.

Sweater: J Crew Cashmere L/S Tee, Dark Poppy
Skirt: J Crew Flair Skirt, Navy, 8P
Shoes: Prada Calf Hair Flats (I’ve had these beauties for 6 years!)

Wednesday…I really like the color of these cords. I never saw them online so I believe they were an in-store only color. I had these hemmed for flats even though I bought the 29 Short. I think she removed at least two inches. As for this tee, I thought I had lost it. It had been missing for almost a year and then one day when I was going through my “handwash” only laundry I found it. Yay!

Cardigan: J Crew Cashmere Cody, Cobblestone
Tee: J Crew Reindeer Tee (2009)
Pants: J Crew Stretch Vintage Bootcut Cords, Bristol Blue (in-store color)
TOMS Shoes Black Glitter
Today…I wanted to somewhat re-create this look. I know the image is a little small and blurry but you can go here to see it.
I liked the Tuxedo pant with the scarf and the glittery shoes. I completely missed out on this scarf but was able to find it at ASOS for much less than the JC Cashmere Scarf. Thank you Andrea, over at Life’s Divine blog, for pointing me to it! (Also see the Forever 21 scarf!) I wanted to layer the Cashmere Tee but realized I do not have a black button-down shirt other than the Tartan Perfect Shirt, which I wore Thursday (sorry no pic) so I couldn’t wear it again. (You can see it in my Polyvore strip on the right.) I settled on a J Crew Haberdashery in White from a few years ago along with Wool Tuxedo pants. I added the Asos scarf and I was off to J Crew.
Shirt: J Crew Haberdashery, White
Sweater: J Crew Cashmere Tee, Snow
Pants: J Crew Wool Tuxedo Pants (ebay)
Shoes: Steve Madden Madee, Glitter

Scarf: Asos
I think I finally found a present for Husband the he will not expect. Not only is he hard to buy for but he spoils his gifts every year, including the Kindle he was going to get this year. He also found a stocking-stuffer and tried to use it before I caught him. The Boy is easy – cash and gift cards to Barnes & Nobles. But I am working with Santa on a special gift this year. Something he’s not expecting at all. As for what I want, thank goodness for the Amazon Universal Wishlist Button or I wouldn’t have anything under the tree. Not that I really want anything but it’s helpful for the in-laws so they can pick something they know I will like.
Well, I’m off to try and wrap some presents this evening. Tomorrow I will be shopping for the nephews and niece and grabbing stocking-stuffers.
Have a Great evening!

Merry Christmas!

I have to say June was the “Month of Shoes” for me from different brands and price points. I think there’s a little something in here for everyone (including your boys and hubby’s). This is picture and link heavy so I apologize if the post takes a little longer to load.

I teased you with my new TOMS that are the prettiest color of sunshine yellow with that Sperry Topsider accent.

Size 7 1/2

Nike® for J.Crew Vintage Collection Cortez® Sneakers

Size 5 1/2 (Men’s), Chalk- To determine your size go down 1 and a half sizes from your normal size. I am a 7 in Women’s. These come complete with the exposed foam tongue, just like back-in-the-day. The Boy saw these on the back of the catalog I had laying around and FREAKED OUT! He proceeded to beg beg BEG for these in the Anthracite (Blue/Green). He is a HUGE fan of the Nike Cortez and has several pairs in various colors. He has some all white leather and is very careful to not scuff them or get them dirty. He now asks every week or so if any new colors have come out on the J Crew site. I’ll have him drinking the “crewlade” soon. Muah-ha-ha…

Size 37
I have some Corso Como Espadrilles in red but I couldn’t pass up Louboutin’s on sale, in my size! I bought these at Neiman’s and they had some lovely blue Gingham flats, but sadly not in my size.

Tory Burch Tevray Huarache Wedge Sandal
Size 7
Again, another Neiman’s sale find, plus an additional 20% off! You may also be able to find them in black and white.

LANVIN!!! My first pair. Had I known it would come in this lovely box I would have looked for some sooner. It will be a present every time I open the box to wear the shoes.

Lanvin Black Patent Espadrille Wedge
Size 37
Loving Neiman’s as these were on sale, plus the additional 20% off. I love that the jute is a darker brown, which will easily transition to fall. I’ve seen these floating around in a Coral/Peach color too.

Prada Pointed Toe Sling-back Pump
Size 36 1/2
Sweet baby pink Prada’s!!! The pictures do not do this shoe justice regarding the color. I am not a “ballerina pink” girl but these were too beautiful to pass up. The link is to a different color on Polyvore. I’m thinking skinny jeans, a white tee and fitted motorcycle jacket with these.

Talbots times two!
Patent Leather Lucite-Heel City Sandals
Size 7
Black & Plaster – Now on sale for $44.39! The Suede in Bordeaux and Leather in Golden Haze/Yellow are just as pretty if you are put off by the “dancer-ish clear heels” and on sale too! See them on Gigi.

Size 7
Black & Warm Taupe
I didn’t get the black but took this picture of them when I was in the store. I tried on the 6 1/2 and found them tight around the widest part of my foot, around the ball. The 7’s were a better fit when I tried them on and 7 is my normal J Crew shoe size. I haven’t worn these yet as it’s just too hot for anything but sandals. They also come in Pale Peacock, Dusty Clay and Brick Red.
Warm Taupe
Here is the color comparison with my Ann Taylor Perfect Pump in Porcini. Those are patent and a little more on the gray side.

J Crew Mona Suede Pumps
Size 7
Wild Berry
Y’all know I love me some J Crew Wild Berry so I had to see these IRL, EVEN THOUGH I also have the Cece Suede Ballet Flats in the same color. They also come in Black, Burnt Sienna, and Slate. I won’t be purchasing the other colors and here’s why. I am not a fan of Black suede. I prefer Black in patent. The Burnt Sienna is about the same color as the Julienne‘s I found on ebay. And I have the Coddington in Cobblestone.

Cece Suede Ballet Flats
Size 7
Wild Berry
I have seen the Sapphire & Tropical Green IRL and they are true to the color online.

Now, do I keep the Mona and exchange the Cece for another color like the Sapphire or Tropical Green? Or do I keep both in the same color? I will certainly wear the flats more but the heels will be great for that little POP for Girls Night Out or Date Night. I’m still debating that one.

OK…so that’s “Super Shoes-day”. I hope you enjoyed it.

Have a great evening!

Here are a few OOTDs from this week.

Monday – Valentine’s Day – Honestly, Husband and I decided long ago to not celebrate. It’s nice to receive flowers and cards and chocolate but I’d rather have them on a day where he doesn’t seem like he’s forced to do it. Just make it random. Of course, that didn’t stop me from buying a card and for he and The Boy, along with making a nice dinner and having some wine.

Blouse/Corset: Polynya Corset Top in Black Anthropologie
Cardigan: J Crew Factory Store in Dark Peony (I think – DPE)
Skirt: JC Ripple Stripe Pencil Skirt in Black (6)
Shoes: JC Penelope in Black

Tuesday – Shopping with Husband for his Vegas trip. We had some beautiful, 75 degree weather that day.

Blouse: J Crew Silk Sequin Scoopneck – Size Small (look for popbacks)
Jeans: JC Ankle Stretch Toothpick in Cherish Wash – Size 30
Shoes: Prada Leopard Flats

Wednesday in the office – Such a gorgeous dress and it feels great on. It makes me feel great! I was looking for a cardigan to go over it and thought of a lime green or mint color. But then I walked into J Crew and saw the Warm Buttercup Jackie was a PERFECT PERFECT match!

Dress: Take Action by Girls from Savoy Anthropologie – Size 6
Cardigan: J Crew Jackie in Warm Buttercup – Size M
Shoes: J Crew Joley in Twig (I think)

See what I mean!

Have a great evening!

I’ve been trying to figure out a new title for post for my OOTD’s other than “Quick Post” or “Today’s OOTD”. Please forgive my Spanish as I am not fluent. I certainly understand a lot more than I can speak and am try to re-learn it so I can help The Boy with his classes in the next few years. “Que Bella”, I have found, translates to “How beautiful”. I really wanted to have the word “bella” in it if I could so that’s what I’ve come up with. We’ll see how it goes.

Here’s what I wore Thursday and Friday. Thursday was quite a beautiful day. Gorgeous blue sky and sun everywhere. This is the Fluttering Obi Dress by Corey Lynn Calter from Anthropologie, size 4. When I tried on the dress the belt was stitched in the back so I had to take a seam ripper to it so that I could wear the belt the way it shows in the picture on the Anthro size. The only thing I don’t like about this dress is the sleeve. It is elastic and so if I push them up they are tight on my arm. I really loathe elastic on the arms but sometimes you have to suffer for fashion, right? The print is too pretty and did I mention it’s a size 4! I love when I can fit into my 20’s size! These are worn with my Steve Madden Inragee boots.

Friday was an equally gorgeous day – very Spring-like – and 75 degrees with a slight breeze. For me that meant a cardigan and for Husband that meant shorts and a t-shirt. I’m wearing J Crew Cashmere Cardigan in Cobblestone, J Crew Silk and Sequin Scoopneck Tee in Dark Plum (see the Almond color on Gigi here), GAP Essential Jeans and Prada Leopard flats. I had a salon appointment yesterday and, because I’m trying to grow out my hair, it’s not as short as I would probably like. But I’ll get there. Not sure where “there” is but I’ll figure it out soon enough.

So, can you tell where I’ve taken this picture? No? Well, I’m in a dressing room…at the J Crew Factory Store. I was able to swing by after my salon appointment and tried on a few things. I really wanted to see the Neapolitan skirt and shorts IRL and they did not disappoint. I’ll post pics later this weekend.

Have a great day!
