I wanted to share my outfit from my neighborhood’s Christmas Party. As a board member, I’m expected to attend. Most everyone usually dresses in Christmas attire – red, green, Christmas sweaters, etc. I try to wear something fun when I attend Holiday and Christmas parties, especially if it’s an item that’s hard to style or is just meant for a party. The Origami Skirt in Elephant Parade is a great example of a unique party skirt.
I originally had decided on a Navy Cashmere Tee but chose Black at the last minute instead. I still can’t tell if the background of the skirt is navy or black, not that I wanted to match it. I stuck to gold jewelry but had a little trouble finding shoes to wear with the skirt. I thought about my Bronson Booties but eventually went with a pop of red.
I have two more parties this weekend, with one being pretty casual and the other not so I may wear this skirt again to one of those. I could probably casual this up in flat boots or black flats in general along with a Chambray shirt.
What do you think? How else would you style this skirt?

I’m sure you are all wondering what outfit I chose to wear for New Year’s Eve. I chose the top portion of outfit #3 with the Gold Stripe Mini Skirt as the bottom portion. BUT! I forgot the most important rule of outfit planning…

Make sure your clothes are CLEAN!

The Ruffled Rhinestone Top was dirty but I couldn’t tell until after I had ironed it. So, with some help from Husband, I decided on outfit #4, minus the necklace. I wasn’t able to get very many good pics of the full outfit but here’s the Instagram pic.

I accessorized with my Kate Spade Pop, Fizz, Clink Idiom Bangle, C. Wonder Stencil Initial Letter Cuff and J Crew Crystal Shimmer Earrings.

So next time I’m outfit planning I will do laundry first!

Have a Great Day!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We spent the day at my Mother’s with most of my family. Christmas dress seems to get more and more casual each year but I like to dress up. This year I wore all J Crew but I think that is pretty much every year.

I mixed up old school with a touch of new school ‘Crew.

Christian Louboutin Simple Pumps in Cranberry

I added a Crystal Lattice Necklace from Etsy.

Here are just a few pictures from Christmas Day.

Husband had another work Christmas party this past weekend so I was excited to get dressed up again. I originally wanted to wear the Chandelier Sweatshirt but Husband was critical of it because it was a sweatshirt. “Oh no. No no no. Um…yeah…no. It’s a sweatshirt.” Ok then, you’ve made your point.

So I chose an all J Crew ensemble in light colors.
J Crew Cashmere Tee in Snow, J Crew Sterling Skirt in Sheer Mint, J Crew Collection Etta Snakeskin Cap Toe Pump, J Crew Grande Crystal Drop Necklace

I found the Etta’s on ebay for a great deal.

I added my Tipped Gray Lexington Blazer to blend with the lighter colors I was wearing.

Waiting on Husband…tick tock, tick tock. You can’t really tell but I used my new Urban Decay Naked3 Palette. The last color reminds me of Black Cherry. I usually keep a neutral face so it’s nice to have a few more options in this little palette with some beautiful rosy neutrals.

As it turns out, the Chandelier Sweatshirt worn with cords or jeans would have fit right in with what all the other ladies were wearing. Embellished on top and jeans or leggings on bottom. Not to say I didn’t love my outfit because I did. I didn’t feel uncomfortable being a little over-dressed either as I felt great and Husband loved it!

I can’t believe Christmas is almost here. I have not finished my shopping and will have to run around here and there all week and spend the weekend wrapping everything. I did wrap a few gifts with my new ribbon and paper from The Container Store. They come out with some beautiful wrapping every year!

Have a Great Day! Thanks for visiting!

Husband’s company had their Holiday party Saturday and I had eagerly been waiting to wear the Gold Stripe Mini Skirt. The weather turned bitterly cold on Thursday but I was still determined to wear this skirt so I tweaked the rest of the outfit to accommodate this.

My entire outfit, from head-to-toe, is all J Crew. The sweater is Cashmere Tee in Black. The shoes are the Collection Sloane Velvet Crisscross Pumps I reviewed here. For my jewelry, I am wearing the Salon Necklace and Bracelet from 2009. I originally had the bracelet in Shore Pink and wore it to the Holiday party back in 2009, here. I eventually sold it because I wanted the bracelet and necklace to match. The tights are also J Crew, the Super-Opaque Tights in Black. I usually grab a extra pair at the end of the season when they are on sale.

I had my nails done at Ulta with OPI GelColor in Onyx Black with a GoldenEye accent nail.

I added the Tuxedo Topcoat and my trusty Kate Spade Camel Clutch to finish the look. I am so glad I bought the Topcoat. It was perfect for the evening.

I did keep my hands warm with J Crew Leather Gloves in Holiday Punch, Fall 2011. This year’s version of the glove also has a Holiday Punch color but it’s purple and not Bright Pink like mine.

The entertainment for the night was ZZ Top! They played a mix of everything including some Elvis, Jimmy Hendrix and of course, Legs and Sharped Dressed Man. They look they same, just a bit older when you get up close.

We finished the night taking some friends to one of my favorite bar for a cocktail before heading home.

Have a Great Evening!
