Can you believe it is mid-October already? We are starting to feel just a slight nip in the air, but only in the mornings and after dark. Hence my first outfit from Tuesday. It was chilly and I was excited to wear my J Crew Maritime dress in Navy. You’ve seen me in the Sail Blue here. And now there is a black color as well. Online it looks too similar to the navy so I’ll pass on it. I went with rolled sleeves and my new TOMS Bennett Metallic Slip-On. These are exactly like my Metallic Cork Wedges but a flat version. I was surprised at how neutral this shoe was and wore the wedges a lot this summer so I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of the slip-on version as well.
Unfortunately, I didn’t keep this on all day. It was pretty warm in the afternoon so I had to change before I was off to the salon and didn’t get pictures.
Wednesday I brought out my new Whirligig Dress in Dark Orange. I love the wrap on this dress and it’s so comfortable for day-wear. Husband sprung a last minute cook-out with friends so I threw on my Lanvin Espadrilles to run to the grocery store. Even though they are espadrilles they have a dark jute wedge so they are still perfect to wear in the fall, at least in South Texas.

…And my new haircut. I love it and feel so much more like me now. I call it the “chic-mullet”…Mom-bob on the right, Short and Sassy on the left, with a touch of bang. I now have my best accessory back.

Thursday I was off to my parents hometown for an impromptu wedding shower. I wore my Twinkle Twinkle Dress by Girls from Savoy and my new Christian Louboutin Simple 70 pumps in Copper. They are such a gorgeous color and I just happened to be in Neiman’s the day after they arrived.

And finally, today, I had lots of errands so I brought out a great tunic from Lucky Brand that I bought on sale along with my J Crew Ankle Toothpick jeans and new “cheaper on ebay” Cece Suede Ballet Flats in Bright Flame.

Husband and I are off for a quick weekend get-a-way with friends tomorrow so I’m off to pack a bag.

Have a GREAT weekend.

Hi everybody! It’s been a little while hasn’t it? Whew…real life tired me out these last two weeks. We finally had The Boy’s birthday party which Husband and I are finally recovered from. We had NINE!! 15 year-old boys over this past Saturday and Sunday. Counting The Boy made 10 teen-aged boys taking over every room, inside and out, of our house except our Master Suite. And since we weren’t officially crazy by Sunday, we took them to play paintball for 3 hours. I changed clothes into fresh loungewear daily and that was it.

I wasn’t really even in the mood today to get dressed. I had on another outfit but then the dogs started barking and the doorbell rang. I peek outside and it’s my Brown Sancho leaving me a package! Woo Hoo!

Here’s what he brought me.

J Crew Men’s Belt from last year. It doesn’t fit around the waist so I tied it.
As soon as I woke up the day after trying on this dress I knew I needed to have it. What was I thinking saying it wasn’t me!?! At that price I can certainly wear it until it hits 80 (which was two days ago by the way) or over 80 and windy. Of course, in two days the dress sold out at my store and the only size left was an XL. So even though it was back-ordered until May I did a little clickety-click and ordered it. Well, it shipped Monday and arrived today! Woo Hoo! I like it better with the sleeves rolled up, but maybe not this high (3 times rolled). What do you think?
These sandals are a great replacement for my Nine West Velas I bought last year in a 6 1/2. I really really wanted them in that specific color and suffer for it everytime I wear them. I love this Cognac color and I like that the Black sandal also has a dark heel and platform. If I get another color it would have to be the gray (even though I need a black sandal). I haven’t worn these for very long yet but I’ll update the post on the comfort factor later.
Have a great day!

New arrivals online and in store…Here are some IRL pics.

Maritime Dress, Medium – I could have probably sized down to a Small. The length is actually perfect but I won’t get much use out of it South Texas. I do like it belted but it’s just not me. Maybe on sale…if it makes it there.

Gingham Scout Chino, 6 – The 8 was way to big and almost fell off me. Usually it fits in the hips and is a little loose in the waist (Lolli pant). I liked this on but then I saw this picture.

In-Store “Big Daddy Lou’s” Tee, Small – #38219, $29.50 –

Summerweight Chino Bermuda Short, 8, Organic Green – I have plenty of shorts in the classic colors (Navy, White, Khaki). I like this color and will wait until a sale.

Schooner Short, 8, Indigo – Cute…They were very soft and comfortable.

E’te’ short, 8, Nightfall Blue – I really liked these of the 3 shorts I tried on. And love the color.

In-Store “Vineyard” Pencil Skirt, 6 – #38061, $128 – Fits TTS

In-Store, Rialta Tweed Pencil Skirt, 6, #38793 – Lovely colors. I brought it home to see if I could pair it with someone other than a denim shirt or a tee. Fits TTS. Here’s the jacket.

In-Store Wagon T, M, #37790, $32

Liberty Vintage Floral Mini, 6 – Cute

Collette Dress, M – I could have sized down to a Small. Very “FlashDance”. I really don’t want to re-live the 80s.

I don’t know the name of this one and I moved the tag when taking the picture. Size 4, $138 – I think this was cotton with chiffon paneling on the shoulders and sides with a racer-back and drawstring waist.

Tulip Ruffle Cami, 6, Dragonfly Blue – Cute but I think I need to size up to an 8.

There were quite a few other items in the B&M but I didn’t have a whole lot of time. I was really looking for the Plaid Bermuda shorts from the catalog but they were not in yet.
