Can you believe it is mid-October already? We are starting to feel just a slight nip in the air, but only in the mornings and after dark. Hence my first outfit from Tuesday. It was chilly and I was excited to wear my J Crew Maritime dress in Navy. You’ve seen me in the Sail Blue here. And now there is a black color as well. Online it looks too similar to the navy so I’ll pass on it. I went with rolled sleeves and my new TOMS Bennett Metallic Slip-On. These are exactly like my Metallic Cork Wedges but a flat version. I was surprised at how neutral this shoe was and wore the wedges a lot this summer so I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of the slip-on version as well.
Unfortunately, I didn’t keep this on all day. It was pretty warm in the afternoon so I had to change before I was off to the salon and didn’t get pictures.
Wednesday I brought out my new Whirligig Dress in Dark Orange. I love the wrap on this dress and it’s so comfortable for day-wear. Husband sprung a last minute cook-out with friends so I threw on my Lanvin Espadrilles to run to the grocery store. Even though they are espadrilles they have a dark jute wedge so they are still perfect to wear in the fall, at least in South Texas.

…And my new haircut. I love it and feel so much more like me now. I call it the “chic-mullet”…Mom-bob on the right, Short and Sassy on the left, with a touch of bang. I now have my best accessory back.

Thursday I was off to my parents hometown for an impromptu wedding shower. I wore my Twinkle Twinkle Dress by Girls from Savoy and my new Christian Louboutin Simple 70 pumps in Copper. They are such a gorgeous color and I just happened to be in Neiman’s the day after they arrived.

And finally, today, I had lots of errands so I brought out a great tunic from Lucky Brand that I bought on sale along with my J Crew Ankle Toothpick jeans and new “cheaper on ebay” Cece Suede Ballet Flats in Bright Flame.

Husband and I are off for a quick weekend get-a-way with friends tomorrow so I’m off to pack a bag.

Have a GREAT weekend.

Today, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Tim Gunn. He was so genuine and friendly I wish our meeting could have been longer. My mind and thoughts are still scrambled but I do remember him saying “Your outfit is darling!” And I responded that it was all from Anthropologie! I was happy I was able to go with my girlfriend Catalina. It made the experience so much more fun.

Cata and I had a light lunch and then were able to find two seats together on one side of the runway. It rained off and on all day but we were lucky enough to only have it drizzle while we were waiting. It never rained through the show or the Q&A which was directly after the fashion show. Lucky Brand picked a few “regular” people to be models. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go to the casting call due to a long work day.

After the Q&A it was time to get in line to meet Tim Gunn. If you made a purchase at Lucky Brand throughout the week over $100 you were able to wait in line and get a picture with Tim along with a signed copy of book Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making it WorkAgain, unfortunately we didn’t realize A LOT of people got in line directly after the fashion show so we were way towards the end of the line. It turns out we were around the 2-hour wait part of the line. He was supposed to leave at 3:30 but there were still at least 100 people waiting so he said he was going to stay until he saw everyone.

We were also able to get a pack of his Holiday cards that Carol posted about here. We were one of the lucky ones to get a copy of his book. They did not realize the amount of people to show up so those towards the end were going to have their picture taken but be mailed their autographed copy of the book. When I met Tim we chatted briefly, he complimented my “darling” outfit, auto-graphed the book, snapped the pic, hugged and shook hands and we were done. It was so fast I’m surprised I remember it all.

Here are a few pics. I also saw Pam from Over 50 Feeling 40 but didn’t get to meet her. She was one of the Lucky ones to ask Tim a question.

Anthropologie Gathering Breeze Dress
Anthropologie Handkerchief Vest
Anthropologie Enchanting Eyes Belt
Ann Taylor Perfect Pump in Porcini

Waiting for the show to start!

Tim Gunn does wear jeans! Lucky Brand jeans to be exact.

Isn’t he just dashing?

Afterwards I stopped by Anthropologie to show off my outfit. Hi girls!!!

Such an amazing day! Hope yours is just a great!

Here’s link to Pam’s post of her experience from the day.

YOU GALS!!! TIM GUNN IS COMING!!! TIM GUNN IS COMING!!!

I am beyond excited. What started out as Date Night for me and The Boy tonight turned into a giddy night for me. I found out Tim Gunn…THE TIM GUNN from Project Runway is coming to San Antonio. To MY mall!!!

He is hosting a Fall 2011 Fashion Show with Lucky Brand on October 8 at La Cantera in San Antonio. On top of that, October 6 you can go to an open casting call to possibly be picked to be in the fashion show. AND…if you spend $100 or more you between October 2-8 you “will be professionally photographed with TIM GUNN (!!!) and will receive a personalized signed copy of his NY Times best selling book Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making it Work.” The awesome thing that was said about the casting call is that they are looking for “real San Antonio people”.

I am freaking excited about this. I was unable to to attend FNO due to family priorities but being able to see and/or meet Tim Gunn would be awesome. I think he is so genuine and honest on Project Runway and it would be so amazing to meet him, even for 1 minute.

Now you know I will be spending $100+ at Lucky Brand but I am also going to “Make it work” by going to the open casting call. I tried to convince The Boy but you have to be at least 16 and he’s only 15…boooo! He would have been picked, my handsome, awesome, gray-blue eyed young man. Visit La Cantera online for more information.

And here’s my “Date Night” OOTD.

Sweater: J Crew Seacomb Sweater, Rustic Navy, S
Jeans: J Crew Ankle Toothpick (LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Simple 70 in Navy
Husband thinks I’m completely cuckoo but I don’t care. What do you think?

Here’s what I’m wearing today in honor of Cinco de Mayo.

J Crew Summerweight Bermuda Shorts, 6
Toms Wedges, 7

And here are some other outfits I’ve worn over the past week or so.

For the Royal Wedding – I missed the ceremony but was up in time for the 2 kisses. I then watched the replay of the ceremony on E! I figured gold was appropriate.

J Crew Gold Linen Lame Bermuda Shorts, 8
J Crew Serengeti Cami, 8
J Crew Jackie in Beechwood, M
Toms Wedges

And I painted my nails in Butter London “Snog”

Over the Weekend…

J Crew Broadcloth Scalloped Shirt, Navy, 6
J Crew Cocodrillo Shorts, 8
J Crew Capri Sandals, 7
It was pretty chilly on Monday, compared to our warm weekend weather so I was able to break out my Casbah scarf!
J Crew Vintage Cotton Ruffle Tee, White, S
J Crew Factory Bling-Button Cardigan, White, M
J Crew Ankle Stretch Toothpick Jeans, 30
Toms Glitter Shoes
J Crew Casbah Scarf

It was a little warmer yesterday but still nice enough for a cardigan.

J Crew Featherweight Cardigan
J Crew Whisper Linen Tee, Black, S
J Crew Garden Skirt, Sage, 6
J Crew Tri-Buckle Waist Belt, S
J Crew Loretta Wood Heels, Modern Red, 7

The Tee and Skirt are currently available online and in-stores in various colors. The Linen Tees are sheer, hence the “Whisper” in the name. I am wearing a cami from The Limited underneath it. Even through these are sheer they are perfect for summer. I bought the tee in several colors and plan to get a lot of use out of them. The tee runs big so size down one. The skirt fits TTS and I had a hard time deciding between this skirt and the Perfect Linen Shirt in the same color (which is not online BTW).

And now for the shoes. These fit TTS. I am a consistent size 7 in J Crew shoes. The wood base/heel reminds me of the Dr. Scholl’s Shoes. I don’t like the way it ties and they are a little loud when you walk. I do like the color and style of this sandal and I think these will be a fun summer sandal.

Have a great day! VIVA!

I joined husband for lunch today at PF Chang’s and he has been waiting for me to wear a Christmas gift he gave me. It’s a Magnifier necklace also known as a Monocle Necklace. Because it as light aqua colored beads on it I can’t really wear it with everything but I found something today that worked! See a similar necklace on Amy K here and here.

Shirt: J Crew Tux Boy Tunic
