Dresses and a Romper!

Wallpaper Floral Maxi, size 6 -The size was good throughout though the length was pretty long. Hemming or heels are a must. Loved the feel of this on. It has a little shape to it so it’s not muumuu-ish.

Lou & Grey Cabana Stripe Dress, Small – I really loved this dress and almost all of the Lou & Grey items in my store. Several items were diminished to one or two sizes so it seems to be very popular. This is a great little throw-on-and-go dress or a perfect little beach-cover-up to evening dinner dress.

Floral Bustier Romper, size 6 – Though I felt super silly grabbing a romper to try on I couldn’t help loving it once it was on. I love the print and color and the size 6 was perfect. This would be an around-the-house/weekends only outfit so I’ll wait to see if it makes it to sale to buy it.
That wraps up my Loft visit. And just in time, as J Crew retail and Factory have new arrivals!
Today is the last day to take 60% off full-price items at Loft, including the Gingham Seersucker Cropped Pants and the Modern Straight Cuffed Cropped Jeans in Floral, which I reviewed yesterday {here}.
Happy Shopping!

Next up from Loft are a few pants. See my Tops review {here}.

Modern Straight Cuffed Cropped Jeans in Floral Print, Size 29/8 – I loved the feel of these though they were a little baggy. I wasn’t able to find an 8 Petite which I think would be the perfect fit.

Petite Gingham Seersucker Cropped Pants in Marisa Fit, size 6 Petite – Shockingly, the 6 Petite was the best fit in the Gingham Seersucker pants. The size 6 in the Zoe fit (right pic) the same though a little longer. I’d rather have it be cropped without having to alter them. J Crew had something like these a few years ago but even ebay has been elusive. These were also an additional $40 off making then only $29.99.

Striped Summer Pants in Marisa Fit, 8 Petite – These felt like super cozy pajama pants and I loved them. I tried a couple of fits and sizes and couldn’t decide which was best at the time. Looking at the pics now, I would say the Marisa Fit in 8 Petite was the best fit. The right pic is the Marisa Fit in a size 6 and snug across the hips. According to the description the Julie should have been the better fit as it’s for curvy figures but I was unable to find a pair. I’ll have to try another store to be sure.

I think I will be trying another store tonight to give the jeans and Striped Summer Pants another go.
Have you been able to try any of these pants at Loft?

I have been by myself for the last two week. Both Husband and The Boy have been on vacation in SE Asia with my brother; a Graduation/Guys Trip. They finally come home on Thursday and I couldn’t be happier. They will have been gone a total of 18 days, visiting Tokyo, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore, where my brother currently lives.

It’s been an amazing, and eye-opening trip for them, but so very lonely for me. Even shopping and store visiting has become a little boring. But! I’ve pushed on, in case you are looking for any deals or wishlist items. One rare stop last week was to Loft. There was a Linen Tee (below) that Jean had posted about and it looked very nice and the colors very saturated. Also, shirts were 40% off and some pants were $40 off!

Chambray Bustier, size 6 – This is a super-cute little top and great for layering under a blazer or cardigan, or for wearing now to combat the heat. It’s not cropped either. This size was a good fit. The back has elastic to stretch some.

Floral Linen Sleeveless Tee, XS – This was the only size available in the tee that brought me into the store. It fit but looked a little stretched out. The colors were just as saturated as I’d hope they’d be.

Floral Mosaic Sleeveless Linen Tee, Small – This is the size I would go with as it fit well. There was no pulling or stretching. The armholes aren’t cut too low. In the end, I decided neither were for me or currently life/work-style. But I definitely recommend the Floral print above as the colors are as saturated as I’d hope they’d be.

Piped Shirt, Petite Small – I was very interested in this top, having seen it online and though it’s Polyester I really liked it. I ended up going with the Petite Medium as the arms were cutting in a little to make it somewhat uncomfortable.

You can see how the Petite Medium drapes a little better at the arms. The pants are the Striped Summer Pants in Marisa Fit. I’ll review those tomorrow.
With Summer Sales at full gusto and Fall Arrivals trickling in, it’s hard to stay focused on what’s really needed in my closet versus what’s wanted (everything!).

Unlike many of you, who switch out your closet to flow with the weather changes in your area, I have to be prepared for daily changes in weather.

For example, I wore the gorgeous Cashmere Bateau Sweater in Stripe on Thursday with my GAP Essential Jeans and Bronson Suede Booties in Black. I added the Velvet Schoolboy Blazer in Black for the evening.

These jeans have been my favorite for a long time and they have held up well.

The Velvet Schoolboy Blazer from last year for a little nip in the air.

On Friday, I was at the opposite end of the thermometer so I grabbed my Cap Sleeve Column Dress and Kate Spade Kiki’s to run errands and hit the salon. There are still a few of these dresses left and at a great price too. I really love the Column Dress that Bailey 44 seems to do every season. I’m glad they started making a knee length version too.

Speaking of “Kiki”…

LOVE!

Today, we’re hitting warm temps again so a mini skirt and tee will do nicely for the day. This is an embellished Loft tee with the Surf Tweed Charter Skirt and Bright Dahlia/Wild Berry color accents with the Belt and Cece Suede Flats.

A little trim and lovely highlights from my Friday salon visit.

I am lucky enough to have a larger closet to keep everything out all year. I only store away the Cashmere and heavier knit sweaters in March but they are easily accessible in the closet if needed for a nippy Spring day.
Have a Great Day!

A new, unexpected purchase today was this necklace.

A few reasons for this purchase were…
1) It’s for a good cause – The Breast Cancer Research Foundation – 25% of the full-price purchase goes to Breast Cancer Research. Note that it’s not eligible to be combined with any discounts or percent-off promos.
2) It’s pretty.
And, 3) It matches pretty well with the J Crew Classic Pave’ Link Bracelet

Bonus reason…Guiliana Rancic designed it and I love her!

Have a Great Evening!
