Skirt: J Crew City Mini in Dublin Tartan
Shirt: J Crew Striped Oxford
Sweater: Tippi in Navy
Belt: Old Navy
Shoes: Kate Spade Kiki Wedges

I’ve been waiting to wear the City Mini in Dublin Tartan after the holidays to see if it could be done and not look like a  “Holiday” outfit. It was such a sunny day to try this outfit and I’m extremely pleased with how it turned out. The navy Tippi changes the look from Holiday to Plaid Mini Skirt outfit. I was originally going to wear camel tights and boots but the weather was so nice to go with wedges only. The second pic shows just how blue and pretty our sky was today. Love seeing that instead of clouds.

So I’m thinking Green for St. Patrick’s Day. What do you think? Any other ideas for getting more non-Holiday outfits out of this skirt?
Have a Great Evening!

Just a really quick post on my Christmas Day outfit. I was very festive. I wasn’t fond of this skirt when I originally tried it on but I went to J Crew on the Friday before Christmas and they had it styled so festively I couldn’t resist it. I changed a few things up but now I really like the skirt and will wear it again…probably with the navy Tippi.

Sweater: J Crew Tippi in Dark Poppy (THE perfect red)
Boots: Etienne Aigner Chip in Black
Bracelet: J Crew
Necklace: Loft
I know I say this way too much but How handsome is this guy? I can’t believe he’ll be 17 in less than 2 months.
My sweet little tree
I’ve been lazy all week but may just have to stop at Anthropologie to peruse their sale items. I did get a gift card after all.
Have a Great Day!

Here are a couple of work-from-home outfits that have also been keeping me warm during our cold-spell this week.

First up is the Wool City Mini in Black (size 6), Fisherman Sweater in Camel, Short Chalet Shearling Boots and Anthropologie Fleece-lined Leggings in Black.

I live in these boots in the Winter. I could have left the house like this but probably would have changed to the Leopard MacAlister Booties had I done so. The Fleece-Lined leggings are amazing and keep my legs toasty warm, so much that I can wear a mini-skirt instead of jeans. They are great under jeans too.

I’m not sure if this next one really worked or not but I know I liked the Coral and Grey together. I am in LOVE with the Sterling Skirt, so much that I ordered the Heather Carbon and am seriously considering the Retro Jade. The ever-so-slight A-line is lovely. And that I found the 8 Petite is a better fit than the standard 6 has me sold on this skirt. I added a brown Perfect Tee under a cape-like Turtleneck I found at Off 5th a few years ago. I made the SA take it off the mannequin since there were none left in the store. I added Dark Grey tights and the MacAlister booties in Dark Cognac.
Have a Great Day!

Here are a few fitting room pics for those of you contemplating a purchase while the COLOR25 promo is going on.

The Thermal Henley in Stripe, Dark Emerald, Sz M, $49.50 but on promo for $29.50 plus the 25% off make this a great deal. I bought three colors of this in the non-button version last year and they are great for lounging or throwing on with jeans, not leggings, to run to the store. I don’t know how many “Oh Honey”s and “Leggings are NOT pants” I muttered under my breath Friday and Saturday. I don’t care what size you are, I don’t want see your booty. But I digress, This Henley runs big, IMO, so size down if you want a closer fit. I didn’t like the way the last two buttons felt against my skin so down low. I grabbed this color and the Navy in a Small. I’ll certainly wear this with Matchstick jeans, boots or flats, scarf and a puffer vest, if needed.

Bow Shirt, Size 10 – I did not realize this was not online so I didn’t grab a pic of the tag. I also didn’t realize my PS gave me a 10 instead of at least an 8. I would probably take a 6 in this as it did run big. This has little bows all over and then a bow at the neckline. It also comes in purple, not blue like my picture below.

You can see the bow detail a little better in the solid color. This is a size 8 and you can see it is still wide through the body. Yep, a 6 would be best for me but I’ll pass on both. The print is way too girly for me and…don’t hurt me Gigi (ducking the chancla)…I’m not a fan of the Bow trend.
Silk Boy Shirt in Windowpane, Fuchsia Windowpane, Sz 6 – I’m starting to wear a 6 in the silk Boy Shirts as the fit is fine for me across the shoulders. This is just as bright IRL as it is on the website. I thought I liked it but after trying it on decided against it. I have a few neon colored sweaters already that work for me.
Funnel-neck Hoodie, Sz Small – Last year’s version has a kangaroo pocket in front. This was very cozy, but a little tight in the arms. I’d size up to a Medium for comfort. Honestly, I don’t think this is worth $110, or $110 less the 25%. There’s a Men’s Shawl Collar Sweater that is so cool and only $59.50. The material is similar to this Hoodie. The Boy has one and I ordered another for him. He loves them.
City Mini in Dublin Tartan, Sz 8 – This did not fit well on me at all. The size 6 would have been shorter but there was something off about this. The wool felt different than last year’s version and it’s not worth the $98 plus 25%. Maybe $79.50 plus 25% off. But because of the Christmas season and the Tartan green it was selling.
No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Dot Brocade, Sz 6 – As you can see this is very fitting. I’d size up to an 8 if I purchased this but it would be a one-trick pony for me so I’ll pass. Also, after putting this on, the skirt shifted, so I’d be adjusting this constantly.
And finally, an outfit. I wore this today to do a little more shopping. It was lovely. No one was out. The shelves had been re-stocked in stores and the traffic was light.
Sweater: Factory Puffin
Shirt: Blythe in Polka Dot
Jeans: Matchstick

Hope the reviews help! Have a Great Evening!

Here are a few other items I tried on at the B&M last week.

Linen Cable-Knit Sweater – $79.50, Sz S, #71617, Caribbean Green – This is quite a lovely lightweight linen sweater but does run a size smaller than your normal size. I didn’t even try the Medium because just holding it up it look big. The Caribbean Green is perfect green for the Spring and the Navy is also quite saturated, IMO. I’ve paired it with the Matchstick Jean in Starlight Wash ($108, Sz 29R, #50499). I really liked these jeans. They have a little stretch to them and feel really nice on. It won’t really matter whether I get the Short or Regular as I’ll have to hem either one. I’m not in the market for jeans right now but I would consider these on sale.

Colorblock Stripe Boatneck Tee – $45, Sz S, #73911, Neon Pink Chalkboard – This fits like the other Boatneck and Vintage Bateau Tees. I need a size Medium to be comfortable in it. I liked the Navy Kiwi colorway more than the pink.

Striped Maxi Skirt – Sz S, possibly $79 – Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the tag for this skirt but I love it. It’s comfortable and the Small was the perfect fit and length for me. My guess is that this is an in-store only skirt.

Cotton Shift Dress – $148, Sz 8, #64991, RLE Retro Lemon – This is a cute little dress but may not work for taller ladies as the length is hitting about two inches above my knee. This is not online and I was told this will come in a pink colorway as well.

City Mini in Linen – $79.50, Sz 6, #64032, Neon Azalea – I was tempted to get the 9-inch Chino Short but I love the skirt more. I think I’ll wear it more. I tried on the size 8 for more length but since this is meant for warm weather a little more leg to show will be fine in the size 6. It comes in Navy, Ivory and Lemon Zest, which is much brighter IRL than online.

Raindrop Lace Tee – $110, Sz 6, #68394, Neon Azalea – Since my store did not receive the Navy color I tried on the Neon Azalea to determine size. The size 6 is a great fit and I’ll add the Navy to my wishlist.

Elinor Dress – $138, Sz 6, #72114, Cerise – I tried this on only because I was intrigued by the Elinor Dress in Polka Dot. This is too similar, for me, to the Cecelia Dress from last year and I am afraid I’ll snag this pretty cotton/linen dress.

I did get the Linen Cable-Knit Sweater in the Caribbean Green and may go back for the Navy. I’ll wait for a sale on the Raindrop Lace Tee but do hope the Striped Maxi Skirt is still in stock at the store when I go back.
Unfortunately, the cotton Cafe’ Capris do not work for me at all. The size 6 is too tight in the booty and the size 8 is way too big in the front. I think the 8 Petite might be the best size for me but skirts and dresses are much more summer friendly for my area weather. It’s too bad because I wanted the Bright Dahlia since I love my wool Lolli pants.
