Today I have some sweaters from the Holiday roll-out. The Vintage Holiday Sweater is super cute and one I was able to pick up in-store before it showed up online. I have it paired with the Crinkle Boy Shirt in Red Plaid. I took a Medium in the sweater and a size 8 in the shirt, both my normal size.

Next is the Side-Button Sweater in Colorblock, size Medium, in Dark Poppy. I preferred the Gray (don’t see it online) but passed overall on this. I like that you can just throw this on and it has enough visual interest to not make you get bored with wearing it, like the elbow patch and the side buttons.

I tried the Merino Fair Isle Sweater in both colors and loved the way my VPS styled the black sweater. This color, Midnight Red, looked more like Purple Red to me. I have on a Medium.

My VPS paired the black colorway of the sweater with Crinkle Boy Shirt in Black Check. I loved this pairing so much I bought both and wore them both the next day.

Lastly, is the Merino Embroidered Lace Sweater, Medium, in Apricot Mist Black. I tried this on as a gift idea for MamaBella. I like the contrast of the pink and black better than the red/black or blue/black colors.

Have you tried any of these sweaters?

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek to the Holiday Guide. Looks like those are now online and there’s a nice promo of 30% with HOLIDAY!

I have a few reviews but wanted to get these first two out there in case anyone needed to make a decision.

First up is the Italian Silk Secretary Blouse in Tapestry Print. I debated between this blouse and the Collection Italian Silk Shirtdress in the same print. I settled on the blouse because I knew I would get more wear out of it as opposed to the dress.

I ordered a size 8 and the fit is good although an 8 Petite would be a better fit as the sleeves are a little long.

The print is divine and the silk is gorgeous. I am so happy I ordered this blouse as it is so beautiful and will go well with my current black/gray wardrobe.

Next, is the Collection Tuxedo Topcoat. Dani has been posting a nice series on coats for various functionality. Her latest is Dress Coats and this most certainly fits the bill. She has a beautiful black coat from Brooks Brothers that she got for a song. I have the Wool Blazecoat that I wear on cold days but I don’t have anything for dressier events. This Topcoat certainly fits the bill.

I ordered the size 8 and though it’s a little tight in the shoulders (story of my life) there is room in the arms and body for layering. This is the perfect length to cover all my skirts and dresses. I think it will also look chic with skinny jeans.

I am very happy I ordered both of these. I think the pattern of the blouse might be my favorite from the Fall/Winter/Holiday collection.
Have a Great Thanksgiving!

One of my favorite tops to wear is a peasant blouse. The looseness and flowiness make it so easy to throw on over jeans, skirt or shorts, depending on the weather. So when I saw the Embroidered Peasant Top in Green Plaid show up with the new arrivals two weeks ago I ordered it, even though the 25% promo was pulled early.

I ordered the 8 Petite in the Green Plaid which is perfect for Christmas and the Holidays. It has bracelet sleeves and a hook-and-eye closure at the collar. The material feels gauzy and is on the thin side though not completely see through. I liked the fit and would probably be a good fit in the size 6 as well so I would say this is TTS.

In a sea of Dry Clean only, this top is machine washable.

Is it worth the $110? No. I think this should have been under $100 at original price. Luckily, this top was added to the Winter Favorite this week so I was able to get a price adjustment. There’s only one or two other items from the new arrivals I have my eye on but I’ll wait for a promo, which I would hope happen this week for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, as it did last year.

Have you tried this Peasant Top or the one in Stripe? There’s also a matching Green Plaid one for little Girls.

I made some returns to J Crew and I found a few items to try on from the new arrivals.

The Pleated Stretch Flannel Dress caught my eye online and I’m happy I was able to try it on, in a Size 6. I could Spanx it in a 6 but I would prefer a little wiggle room and would size to an 8. The material was flannel with a little stretch. I like the fit-and-flare shape and am a big fan of A-line skirts. I would also probably buy the Heather Indigo instead of this Heather Flannel color.

My VPS suggested I try on the Stretch Herringbone Skinny Cargo Pant, Size 8. I liked the Herringbone part of the pant but this was a little too skinny for my hips and thighs. The 8 was the right fit.

I was not a fan of the Lace-Trim Swiss-Dot Top in the Style Guide but liked it once I tried it on. I have on a size 6 and this seems to run big. I would normally be satisfied with the 8. The body is lined while the sleeves are not. This would be a good work top but also work well with denim, I’m thinking my new Toothpick Jeans in Dolphin Grey.

The Toothpick Cords in Neon Amethyst are gorgeous IRL. I fell in love with this color and it was on sale too! Sadly for me, I already have a similar color, not as bright, from a few years ago so I passed on these. I took my normal size 30 for the Toothpick Jeans/Cords.

I own the Matchstick Cords in Sea Salt and love the color, size 29. I debated on whether or not to get a second pair in this same color but decided against it. I paired it with the Jaspe Tunic in Heather Silver, which looks more Ivory/Cream IRL, and the Houndstooth Baseball Cap. Now, I know the Jaspe knits are comfortable but I originally thought this was the Vintage Sweatshirt and about choked when I saw the price tag…$118! The size Small was a good fit in the Tunic but major pass on this Tunic.

What do you think about some of these? Interested in any?
Have a Great Day!
