My favorite color is Green. Usually a very saturated Kelly Green is what I am drawn to but lately, Mint has been catching my eye…A lot. So when I saw the Tartine Tote in Sheer Mint with the new arrivals last weeks I had to see it. I am also on a Tote handbag kick right now so I really had to see it.

The color is a very pretty mint and it is a nice enough bag but it’s not what I am looking for. The bottom doesn’t have any feet so it will get dirty if set on the ground. The leather is extremely stiff and will show creases quickly, if that makes sense. The leather also looks like it will scuff easily.

There are two ways to close the bag, with snaps and a hook, which changes the shape of the bag.

The interior has a cute little pouch but no zipper or open pockets. I have most of my items in their own little pouches but this Tote is one big bucket.

I don’t mind the size and it does fit nicely over my shoulder.
Not sure why I didn’t check this out fully when the Colorblock Tote came out but this is a definite pass for me. Kate Spade Saturday has a Square Tote in Windowpane Leather that looks promising and comes in 5 different colors. It also has two pockets at the side which I think is genius.
What do you think of the Tartine Tote?

Here’s are two recent Que Bella’s for you with the Pleated Short in Stripe and Cotton.

It was just a regular work-from-home day. This was effortless to put
together but I still felt dressed and ready to run errands if needed. Everything is J Crew: Short-Sleeve Chambray Shirt (8), Pleated Short in Nautical Stripe (8) and Cece Leather Ballet Flats in Burnt Sienna (7). I have the Cece Ballet Flats in several colors in the leather and suede and have done a Shoesday
review on them before. I was able to get the Navy and the Burnt Sienna
during the last 30% off. You can see it is a very neutral shoe for me,
blending with my skin tone fairly well.

The shirt is my normal top size for button-downs. I have another Short-Sleeve Chambray Shirt from a few seasons ago but this one is a little darker and has the Peter Pan/rounded collar. I am having a little issue with the button right at the chest popping open. Anyone have a way to fix that? It’s almost like the button-hole is a little to big for the button to stay put. As you can see the shirt is not pulling across the chest so it’s not a sizing issue.

Next, is the Pleated Short in Structured Cotton in White. While the other colors are not lined, the white one is, which makes is a nicer dressy short. I added one of my new Factory Pique Polo Shirts, in mint and my Louboutin Puglia Snake-Embossed Espadrille. I wore this on my Anniversary as I wanted to feel a little more dressy that day while working from home.

I love how pairing the Structured shorts with heels not only makes the outfit a little more dressy but elongates my legs. Love the look of being taller.

And now the shorts are offered in Seersucker. Not sure if I’ll be able to pass those up either.

Anything here work for you? And how do I fix that button?

During the last 25%/30% off everything at J Crew I picked up the Seville Wedge Espadrilles in Navy. Last year, they were offered in whole sizes only so the 7 was a half size too big and the 6 was way too tight. This year, half sizes were introduced and the 6 1/2 was the perfect fit. I wish there were half sizes last year as I really wanted the Navy/White stripe in Satin. This year they come in Flax, Venetian Green, and Neon Rose in solids and Black/Ivory Stripe. I don’t know if I really love this Navy as it’s a little too light but I have worn them a few times so I think my eyes just don’t care for them. Also, 7 is my normal J Crew shoe size so I would say go half a size down.

The Chambray showed up online two weeks ago and I ordered them as that color will go with a lot in my closet. I am hoping to get a PA this week.

These are fairly comfortable and I’ll certainly wear them a lot this year. I’ve seen the Venetian Green in stores and the color is gorgeous.
What do you think of the Seville Wedge Espadrilles? Are they on your list?

Everyone remembers Jenna in these pants right?

They are expected in the next roll-out or two and are in the May Style Guide as well. For those of us (everyone really) who won’t be able to afford them here is a more reasonable option for that print in a scarf.

The Printed Linen Scarf in Emerald Pool is beautiful, lightweight and a vibrant Emerald Green.

Even the pinks and yellows on the scarf pop out at you. The material is a viscose, linen blend so less wrinkles but does that even matter with a scarf? As you can see, the scarf is very sheer so it’s perfect for those light breezy days or offices with a chilly A/C.

What do you think of this scarf print? Honestly, I wish J Crew would make a scarf in every beautiful print they have, especially if the print is used in a Collection piece at $300+. Yes, I’m sure the Factory Store will eventually have one but sometimes it’s not the actual item for me as much as it is the print.

Before this promo ends I wanted to give you a quick review of some shorts and a tee that are part of the latest J Crew promo of 25% off Tees, Shorts and Swim.

These shorts below are all the same style the Pleated Short. I found these last year in both the red and blue stripe. See them both on me here.

This year, they are offered in a Navy Nautical Stripe and Structured Cotton in solid colors – White, Black, Neon Rose and Pacific Turquoise.

I prefer these to the flat-front 3-, 5- inch shorts. The pleating gives the shorts a little shape, almost A-Line.

Side view – Umm…yeah…so WMM gave me that little beer belly from all her Miller time Friday’s. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Rear view – As you can see the stripes line up almost perfectly in the back.

The Neon Rose is a beautiful color and works nicely with my skin tone.

The Nautical Stripe are a Linen-Cotton blend which causes a slight problem. They pill at the inseam. You can see the image below, on the right side of the picture where the shorts pill due. On the left, I used my sweater shaver to remove the pilling. A minute worth of work and the pills are gone. Also, I have washed these consistently in the machine and then laid them flat to dry with no problems. The solid colors are Cotton so I don’t know/don’t think they will pill.

Yes, I buy multiples. All that’s missing is the Pacific Turquoise. It’s gorgeous IRL but my store didn’t have my size. One other thing about these is that they have pockets. I don’t dislike them with pockets but I think they look better with the pockets still sown shut.

I also found the Linen Soleil Tee. The Linen Tees are a staple for me during the summer. This one is sheer but with the print in the front I don’t need to wear a cami under. This will pair well with all my new shorts. I took a Medium.

I thought and thought about ordering swim during this promo but I need to purge the many bikinis and one-piece suits I have first. Also, none of the prints were very appealing to me this year. Maybe there will be something in the later roll-outs.

Hope these reviews help!

Have a Great Day!
