Currently, the Iridescent Sequin Shift Dress has been marked down to $99.99 plus 30% off with COOLSALE. My store has 50% 40% off sale so I would try getting a price match in-store plus the in-store sale promo.
I really like the olive dress against my skin-tone. It’s one of my favorite colors to wear for Fall. The dress is pretty and I can see adding a jean jacket to it to dress down for a casual date night or lined blazer. A cardigan will snag on the sequins, that are all-over the dress. As long as it’s not one of your favorites I suppose a cardigan is ok to wear. Of course, this looks great with the Collette Heels. I have on a size 6 and it fits perfectly. The length is a little more than an inch above the knee.

There’s a back-zip and the dress cuts in a little so a racerback bra will be necessary. The overall shape is a little more curvy than the Linen Sundress in Iridescent Sequin. I like the v-neckline better on the other dress. I bought that one and returned since I didn’t end up wearing it right away. I think it would have just sat in my closet.

I loved this dress and I love the look of it with the Collette Heels. The mix of the tweed with the animal print as well as purple-blue with brown looks very pleasant and not shocking or distracting. I am always an 8 in Sheath dresses since they fit so close to the body. This one is no exception, fitting exactly perfect.

The tweed is very nice and not overly thick. I wouldn’t normally think tweed for Summer but it works with the pattern and dress style. The length is a modest length, hitting just below the knee on me.

It’s really hard to resist buying the Italian Tweed Sheath Dress. I think the style, pattern and colors are something that will transition over the seasons. But, even with dressier items that I’ll only wear occasionally, I always think about cost-per-wear. If I worked in an actual office I’d buy this in an heartbeat.

What do you think of these dresses? Have you tried either of them on yet?

****UPDATE**** The Iridescent Sequin Tank in this review is now on sale for $49.99 plus 30% off. The Iridescent Sequin Shift Dress, that I’ll review tomorrow, is also on sale at $99.99!!! I fit well in the size 6.

A few quick notes before we get to today’s review. J Crew has a tiny roll-out of new arrivals today. I am liking the Belted Oxford Dress. Also, Gilt City has a 30% off J Crew Factory coupon available. If you are not a member of Gilt, you can sign up for Free here. I don’t see an exclusion on the Quilted Vest in the fine print and I haven’t tried it but that is subject to change.

Now on to the outfit review!
Current Tee size: S/M
Current Pant size: 8

Iridescent Sequin Tank, Misty Forest, size 6 ~

The size 6 fit really well. It wasn’t pulling or tight across the chest. The size 8 would have given me a looser fit, if that is what I was looking for. I think with the sequins I would prefer a closer fit to the body. The sequins were not itchy or bothersome against the body of the skin. I like the Misty Forest color. Olive is one of my favorites for Fall.

I was a little bothered by the sequins under the arm. They rubbed a little so I’m sure that would get annoying quickly.

They seem to be sown on pretty well, stitched together and not separate. This is a nice Tank and made it to my wishlist. I think it may be nice to use during the Holidays and a different color green for Christmas.

Washed Lamé Pull-on Pant, Metallic Champagne, size 6 ~
I thought I might be able to get away with wearing a size 6 in these pants but only my Assets Shorts are saving me from splitting the seam in them. Assets are by Spanx and I got mine at Target. The waist did fit well and the drawstring is useful in these. The size 8 would fit more comfortably through the hip and thigh.

Though these state they are a 26-inch inseam online, they hit just below the top of the Collection Collette Heel, so full-length on me (5’2″).

Though I’m sure you could wear the Washed Lamé Pull-on Pant casually with a tee and nice flip-flops, I feel they are too shiny to be dressed down. The Shirtdress on the other hand, is something I feel I could wear dressed down and casual. They look great with flats and I will also try them with some espadrilles.

So tell me, have you tried on any of the Lamé items yet? Do you think either the pant or shirtdress can be “dressed-down”?

I have a quick, and late Shoes-day today for you featuring the Collection Collette Calf-Hair D’Orsay Kitten Heels.

I tried on my normal size 7, and though you see a gap at the heel, that was the right size for me. The width is perfect and they didn’t slip off my feet when I walked.

The online description states these are 3 1/8-inch heels but they certainly didn’t feel 3 inches tall. Also, when someone says Kitten Heel, I think 1 1/2 to 2 inches in height, max.

You see that the toe-cleavage is minimal and that area is cut and an angle instead of straight across. I really like the different shades of brown used this time mixed in with ivory and not tan. The pattern placement doesn’t bother me on these.
The Collette Calf Hair D’Orsays are really nice. I’ve not experience any other brand of shoes with calf-hair so I only know of J Crew and they seem to do it well. These heels seemed to go with a lot of the items I tried on. You’ll see those this week.
Have a Great Evening!
