Second day in the office and I decided to wear jeans since I rarely do when traveling to offices. I love my Lucky Brand Jeans from last year. The denim is comfortable and stretchy and a nice dark wash.

The shirt is from J Crew Factory, the Stripe Silk Double-Pocket Blouse (Sz S). For accessories I added my new Loft Necklace, the Classic Pavé Link Bracelet from JC and my Ann Taylor Leopard Booties.

Nice and simple but I still felt dressy. The shirt is not the crepe-de-chine like the Retail version but it is 100% Silk and has a nice feel to it. I am finding that I am gravitating to these Silk button-down blouses as they are easy to style, wear and layer (eventually).

J Crew heard my calls for a necklace version of the Pavé bracelet. I knew if they did one it would be around that price point too. I can’t wait to see it in person. If it’s anything like the bracelet I know I’ll love it. I am not one to wear jewelry very often but I am finding that I am reaching for this bracelet a lot. LOVE IT!!

Have a Great Weekend!

I found this Peplum Top at Ann Taylor a few weeks ago. The Peplum is subtle, which I like for this trend. I originally bought it to wear with my Burgundy No. 2 Pencil Skirt from the summer but found it goes with much more. Since that skirt was dirty I decided on pairing the blouse with the Pleated Crepe Skirt in Vibrant Fuchsia and am pretty happy with the look  I added my AT Perfect Pumps in Porcini to complete the outfit. Since the top was pretty busy I didn’t add jewelry.

I would have worn some purple suede heels or wedges but we had rain that day and I didn’t want to ruin them. The only thing that bothers me about the shirt is the seaming where the Peplum starts. I first wore it with jeans and could feel it against my skin. I kept thinking that was where the blouse ended and I’m was showing some skin. The skirt waist band is a little higher up so I didn’t feel like that so much with this outfit, but something to think about.
I can’t wait to try it with my Wool Pencil Skirt in Viridian Green from last year, similar to how Jean at Extra Petite styled it.
Do you have this blouse? What other colored bottoms would you wear with it?

Today, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Tim Gunn. He was so genuine and friendly I wish our meeting could have been longer. My mind and thoughts are still scrambled but I do remember him saying “Your outfit is darling!” And I responded that it was all from Anthropologie! I was happy I was able to go with my girlfriend Catalina. It made the experience so much more fun.

Cata and I had a light lunch and then were able to find two seats together on one side of the runway. It rained off and on all day but we were lucky enough to only have it drizzle while we were waiting. It never rained through the show or the Q&A which was directly after the fashion show. Lucky Brand picked a few “regular” people to be models. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go to the casting call due to a long work day.

After the Q&A it was time to get in line to meet Tim Gunn. If you made a purchase at Lucky Brand throughout the week over $100 you were able to wait in line and get a picture with Tim along with a signed copy of book Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making it WorkAgain, unfortunately we didn’t realize A LOT of people got in line directly after the fashion show so we were way towards the end of the line. It turns out we were around the 2-hour wait part of the line. He was supposed to leave at 3:30 but there were still at least 100 people waiting so he said he was going to stay until he saw everyone.

We were also able to get a pack of his Holiday cards that Carol posted about here. We were one of the lucky ones to get a copy of his book. They did not realize the amount of people to show up so those towards the end were going to have their picture taken but be mailed their autographed copy of the book. When I met Tim we chatted briefly, he complimented my “darling” outfit, auto-graphed the book, snapped the pic, hugged and shook hands and we were done. It was so fast I’m surprised I remember it all.

Here are a few pics. I also saw Pam from Over 50 Feeling 40 but didn’t get to meet her. She was one of the Lucky ones to ask Tim a question.

Waiting for the show to start!

Tim Gunn does wear jeans! Lucky Brand jeans to be exact.

Isn’t he just dashing?

Afterwards I stopped by Anthropologie to show off my outfit. Hi girls!!!

Such an amazing day! Hope yours is just a great!

Here’s link to Pam’s post of her experience from the day.

Today, I have the Ann Taylor Leandra Haircalf Platform Shootie. They come in Classic Camel and Black. I purchased a size 7 which is my normal shoe size.

Description from Ann Taylor: We love the textured sheen rich haircalf gives to these sleek pair. Haircalf with smooth patent leather binding. Round toe. Padded leather footbed for complete comfort. Leather sole. 4 1/4″ heel. Hidden 1/2″ platform compares to 3 3/4″ heel.

This is the Classic Camel. It’s actually a small-spot Leopard print.

Even though the heel is very high the hidden platform helps bring this to a manageable (IMO) 3 3/4 inches. I can’t comment too much on the comfort factor yet but a friend of mine has these as well and wore them all day without any issues. She usually changes into a pair of flats sometime during the day and didn’t with these.

It is a loafer style with black patent trim and heel. The insole and sole are leather too.
The almond-shaped toe does not squish your toes.

The print is symmetrical on both shoes. There is no discoloration anywhere in the calf-hair.

Here are some similar options.

I am absolutely in love with these and can’t wait to wear them. What do you think of the Leandra?
