This year I tried my best to post a lot more outfits aka Que Bella’s. Here are some of my favorites.

January – I loved pairing the City Mini in Dublin Tartan with the Navy Tippi. It made is less of a Christmas skirt.

February – Best thing I ever did was have these Cafe’ Capri Pants hemmed.

March – March was as blur as Dad had just passed away. I think this was my first real outfit of the month.

April – This was my anniversary outfit. I’ve since sold the dress in favor of the skirt and the heels are Louboutin.

May – Another outfit that didn’t make it to the blog but was one of my very favorites of the year.
Tipped Linen Schoolboy Blazer, Embroidered Eyelet Tank, Matchstick Ankle Jeans, Seville Wedges, Elephant Necklace

June – This Deco Pendant had such wonderful colors in it. Some of my favorite jewelry pieces this year weren’t issued online.

June New York Trip – The Tipped Linen Schoolboy and the Embroidered Eyelet Tank make their appearance again, this time with a Seersucker Pencil Skirt and Cece Ballet Flats. I had a Short-Sleeve Cardigan under the blazer which was perfect for the afternoon.

August – My first Madewell purchase which prompted me to get another in October while in California. This skirt is so very neon and the shape is beautiful.

September – Simple Navy and Ivory is what made this a favorite for September.

October – Everything about this outfit is comfortable but I felt so chic in it.

October Vegas Trip – A snapshot of these two made it to Instagram.
1) Lucky Brand Leather Tee, Fluted Skirt, Kate Spade Clutch, Janey Flats
2) Sequin Scoopneck Tee, Cafe’ Capri in Tile Jacquard, Janey Flats

October California Trip  – An all gray day on Halloween

November – The Schoolboy Blazer in Black is a fast favorite in my closet along with the in-store only Dorado Necklace.

December One and Two – There were two outfits that I loved!

I promised I put on decent clothes in July but I think I lived mostly in shorts, tee and swimsuits.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this year in review. I cannot wait to style for next year!

Happy New Year!

Here are just a few things MamaBella always told us to do at New Year’s.
1) Eat some black-eyed peas.
2) Eat 12 grapes, one for each month of the year for Good Luck. But the catch is you have to start at midnight and have one for each toll of the clock. I’d rather kiss Husband at midnight without a mouthful of grapes so I eat them at some point on New Year’s Day.
3) Wear something red. I usually choose red lingerie.
4) Wear something new.
5) Clean house. She would say that whatever state your house was in was how it would be all year. I try to at least straighten up and have almost all the laundry done.
4) CALL YOUR MOTHER! Of course she’d say that. Haha!

Here are a few other New Year’s traditions.

Have a Great New Year!

We’ve been invited to a New Year’s Eve party and the dress requested is “Black and White”. You might as well have told me to wear a potato sack. I know it’s classy and can be chic but for someone who likes color and who already had her outfit picked out I am in a bit of a dilemma.

Here’s what I’ve put together on my Stylebook app of items I already own. I have some dressy wool black J Crew shorts but Husband nixed those so pants it is.

1) J Crew Schoolboy Blazer in Black, J Crew Stretch Perfect Shirt, Talbots Satin Pants, Sloane Velvet Crisscross Pumps, Grande Crystal Drops Necklace

2) J Crew Schoolboy Blazer in Black, J Crew Tipped Silk Tee in Windowpane, Talbots Satin Pants, Sloane Velvet Crisscross Pumps

3) J Crew Sequin Shawl Collar Sweater, J Crew Ruffled Rhinestone Top, Talbots Satin Pants, Sloane Velvet Crisscross Pumps

4) J Crew Schoolboy Blazer in Black, Kate Spade Shannon Top, Talbots Satin Pants, Sloane Velvet Crisscross Pumps

So I need your help. Which outfit should I wear? I haven’t put any of these on together so the Schoolboy Blazer may not work with the Satin Pants or the Satin Pants not go with the Sloane Velvet Pumps.
Do you have any other ideas for Black and White outfits? I have the Scalloped Dress in Black and the Fluted Skirt in Double Crepe in Black but would definitely wear tights with either of them. Of course, my original outfit was built around the Gold Stripe Mini Skirt

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We spent the day at my Mother’s with most of my family. Christmas dress seems to get more and more casual each year but I like to dress up. This year I wore all J Crew but I think that is pretty much every year.

I mixed up old school with a touch of new school ‘Crew.
Lexington Blazer in Ivory
Taffeta Parlour Skirt in Tartan
Cashmere Tee in Pack Green
Christian Louboutin Simple Pumps in Cranberry

I added a Crystal Lattice Necklace from Etsy.

Here are just a few pictures from Christmas Day.

I added the Silk Diamond Tile Skirt in my cart for a little ride-along with some Christmas gifts. I liked the print immediately in these colors. The silhouette reminds me of the Little Skunks Skirt, which I returned. I ordered a size 8 and the fit is good to slightly big. Currently the size 8 is sitting on my hips and it’s meant to sit at the waist.

The length is perfect and there is no puffing out at the waist or in the back at the booty.

I went in to the store and found the size 6. It is a much better fit in the waist. The length is a little shorter but still perfect for my height, sitting just above the knee.

I have been taking an 8 in skirts like this so I would recommend your smaller skirt size or if you are consistent, size down one.
Because of the pink and blue colors this will transition well into Spring. It is also great to wear with tights, boots and a cozy sweater.
There is also a Tipped Silk Tee and a Dress but in blues with no pink. The dress looks big. Normally the shift dresses are shorter in length on the models, the Jules Dress, but this dress is long on the model. It looks sloppy.

Have you tried the Silk Diamond Tile Skirt?
Have a Great Day!
