J Crew Factory: April Arrivals

More and more the Factory is stepping up their game. I have been hesitant to buy from the current retail Collection since it seems a lot of the items then go to the Factory. Here are some of my picks.

Denim V-Neck Tee – I love the casual vibe to this denim tee. It’s probably also very lightweight and perfect for Summer.

Charley Sweater in Retro Floral – The Punk Floral print is one of my very favorites from J Crew. I have several items in this print and am happy to see it reproduced for the Factory. The sweater is one of my Factory Faves as I missed out on the Cashmere version from the retail.

Scalloped Shift Dress in Chome Green – This green look so pretty and I am a fan of the Scalloped Shift Dress. I ordered this one.

I love my Silk Crepe Maxidresses so this Racerback Maxidress intrigues me.

I’m all about shorts this Summer season so I am going to try the Printed Pull-on Shorts in Florida Pink.

I’m sure the Poolside color of the Keating Linen Boy Blazer is gorgeous IRL. I see there is Petite sizing but have been having trouble switching to that.

I missed out on Tortoise Crystal Pendant Necklace last year so I’m happy to see it for the Factory.

Lastly, a pair of shoes, not Metallic, though I was tempted by the Isabelle in Metallic Silver. The Isabelle Printed Bow Pumps are adorable, though back-ordered until May. I hope mine ship!

Kate Spade Friends & Family

During the Kate Spade Friends & Family I concentrated on items for my gadgets.

Ciao Ciao Ciao iPhone Case – I love this one! Reminds me of my vacation two Summers ago. Currently, it’s sold out at Kate Spade.com you can find it at Nordstrom too.

Racer Girl iPad Folio Hardcase – I like dressing up my iPad. It helps to have it in a case as I don’t drop it very often. I shattered the glass on my last one. Yikes! I was looking for something a little smaller and sleeker and love this one. It also has a hardcase back and isn’t as bulky as the one I had been using.

This one will also sit Portrait and Landscape without issues.

Photo Finish Odometer Coin Purse – I am completely obsessed with the Kate Spade coin purses and have several (Owl, Champagne, Sunglasses). Though I don’t use much cash these days, any nickel, dime or penny I have goes in the coin purse. They can’t hold anything more than that. And Gigi and I are Coin Purse Twins!

And while waiting for my Ciao iPhone case to arrive I found this one at Nordstrom.

Shoes-Day: Tory Burch Sadie Slingback Pump

I’m a little obsessed these days with Tory Burch and Metallic Shoes. So when I saw the Sadie Slingback Pump for Pre-Order at Nordstrom I clicked on through and waited for a ship date. Sadly, when they arrived they were a half size too big. I had ordered my normal size 7 and the slingback does not adjust. They are sold out of the 6 1/2 so I wasn’t able to exchange them either and were returned.

I stopped by my Tory Burch store to see if they could find them somewhere for me as they were also sold out in my size online. Luckily!!! one of the SAs said they were getting the shoe in on Friday. Woo Hoo! So, here are the size 6 1/2 which is a much better fit.

The pointy-toe is not bothersome and my toes are comfortably in the shoe without being pinched.

They definitely elongate the foot.

I decided on this smaller heel so that I can wear them more often, like I would a pair of regular flats (Which I just happened to find at JC. Wait until next Shoes-day!)

Leather lining and soles; you have a love a well-made shoe.

Like the Audra Sandals, I am in LOVE with the heel detail. It was protected in felt when I opened the box. I know they won’t be seen much but I’ll know, and you will too!

More Sadie options…

Doesn’t the white seem to have a little 60s vibe? Too cute!

I am so very happy I was able to find my size in these. I have been waiting on them ever since I saw them in a magazine back in January. And they will look perfect with my Talia Dress!

J Crew: Lace-Stripe Skirt, Grotto Pendant Necklace, Collection Antique Floral Shorts, Collection Silk Foulard Shorts

Wanting to try a few more shorts for Summer as well as the Lace Stripe Skirt in Strawberry Rose I ordered during the SHOPNOW.

Lace Stripe Skirt in Strawberry Rose – I previously tried on both the size 6 & 8 in-store and decided on the size 6.

The color is just as I expected and not too pink. It’s more Coral-Pink and very pretty. The pockets are always a nice feature.

Grotto Pendant Necklace will look great with the Silk Crepe Maxidress in Brilliant Blueberry.

Collection Antique Floral Shorts – I liked the print of the Antique Floral Skirt but new I wouldn’t wear it but once or twice before selling it so I chose to try the shorts. I have the print in the Merino Silk-Panel Sweater and love it! These fit well in my normal Shorts size 8. These are not lined and are a Cotton-Silk blend.

Collection Silk Foulard Shorts – Again, I love this Foulard print in the Minnie Pants I have so I wanted to see the shorts in person. I was hoping they weren’t too delicate of a silk and I was right. They are lined and are very comfortable. My size 8 seemed loose until I sat down. Sizing to a 6 would cause pulling across the hips so I would stick with your normal size.

So here’s where it gets a little odd. The button goes through two holes and then hooks, making an asymmetrical drape in the front. There is no other zipper or buttons on the shorts.
