June is over and July is here! I was so busy last month ending with taking The Boy to orientation at his new College and my birthday on Monday. He is now a registered College Freshman and leaves in mid-August.

I spent most of my birthday shopping and having a lovely lunch at Mariposa, the restaurant at Neiman’s. I love going there for little special occasions. Of course I stopped at J Crew as I received some gift cards for my birthday.

This little top is from Anthropologie using my birthday discount. It’s by HD in Paris but I don’t know if it hasn’t made it online or already sold out and is the Swingpane Tank. I am wearing a Medium though most people have sized down, according to the SA. There are ties at the neck in the back to adjust it some. The neckline is a thin halter so a strapless bra is probably the best for this top. I love it and I received so many compliments on it. I paired it with white shorts from Banana Republic and my Valentino Lace Espadrilles from a few years ago.

There are some other fabulous ladies who also have birthdays this week. Both Gigi and Dina have birthdays today and Ema’s is later this week. We are a bunch of fabulous JCAs! Happy Birthday ladies!

With the exception of the Hibiscus Print, I am not seeing anything I need immediately from the last roll-out. I know Fall will hit us soon but I’m not ready for that either. The Linen Stud Tank in Stripe was very cute. I liked the studs on the striped version better than on the solids. I have on a Small and it’s a good fit though the length seems a little long.

So far, no studs are trying to escape. Though there was a promo on knits in store I ended up passing on this.

I liked the BON TEMPS on the Linen Tee in Bon Temps but the dropped seam just bothers me. I wish it was up on the shoulder. It’s somewhat thin but not necessarily see-through on me. I am wearing a Small.

My store is bursting through the rafters in the sale section. The other store in San Antonio closed on Memorial Day so they took almost all of their stock. There is so much on sale and every size available when I stopped by on Monday.

The Puff-Sleeve Blazer in Seersucker was $99.99 in store plus 50% off. The price was so tempting but in the end I passed on this blazer. I couldn’t think of anything other than solids to wear under it. Also, the color was looked purple-blue and not true blue. I have on a size 8 and it fit well but the 10 Petite would be the perfect fit.

Have a Great Friday!!

We all know J Crew is known for their prints and colors. The latest roll-out with the Hibiscus Floral Print is no exception. I love every single piece in this print but have limited myself to just one item.

The Twist-Back Top in Hibiscus Floral was my very first choice to purchase. The size 6 fit very well but I noticed it seems to show extra weight that I’m not carrying in the front. No matter how I rearranged the shirt I couldn’t seem to fix it.

The size 8 of the Postage Stamp Mini in Hibiscus Floral fit normal to slightly big. I cannot understand why the mini-skirts are lined in Polyester. I find the lining is cut just a little smaller than the actual skirt so sizing down is usually not an option.

The shirt and skirt together. The color saturation is almost identical so you could get away with wearing both at the same time. I’d grab either a Navy Jackie or Puff-Sleeve Blazer to wear with this combination.
The Hibiscus Floral Short were the final item I tried on in the store. I have on a size 6 which fit surprising well. I am always an 8 in shorts but these were a good fit.

Only the bottom of the short is lined and the hem is striped. That would have looked really cute on the skirt as well.

I ended up bringing home the shorts with me as I think I will get more wear out of those than anything.

What are you liking from this print?

My local Anthropologie sent out an invite a few weeks ago for a birthday party they would be holding for all June birthdays. Yay! Just in time for the Tag Sale! The event was so cool and a great way for Anthro card holders who had June birthdays to use their birthday discount. There were balloons, nibbles, sweets and Prosecco just for us.

I was able to find a size 6 in the Floral Vignette Dress, which has been on my wishlist since it came out. I didn’t have time to view the sale section online so I had no idea this went on sale until I found it in the store. I like the print and the size was perfect though I’m not sure about the shift style in this one. What do you think?

I loved the Mulberry Road Shift Dress by Moulinette Soeurs. I’m pretty sure I’m wearing an 8 and it was a perfect fit. Not only does it have pockets but a built-in necklace.

I grabbed a size 6 in Maeve’s Ayame Silk Dress but definitely need an 8 to accommodate my hips. You can see how it bunched up just by moving a tiny bit. It does have pockets which is a plus. There is a front zip cover by the black material all the way down so you can un-zip it a little for a different, more casual look.

I have on a Medium in the Laceflower Tank by Sunday in Brooklyn but could have probably sized to a Small. In the end, I just wish the lining was even or slightly shorter than the overlay.

Maeve always has clothes I like every season. The Carte Neoprene Skirt is absolutely adorable. This is the size 8 and it sat high above my waist and was a little uncomfortable.

I tucked in the lining of the Laceflower Tank and it looks so much better with the Carte Neoprene Skirt. This is also the size 10 skirt. It gave me more length and dropped to sit just below my waist. If you are interested in this skirt, definitely size up one. If this has been in Cotton or Silk or anything other than Neoprene I might have gotten it. The Neoprene does give it a lot more structure though.

I really liked the Neon flowers of the Gardenside Shorts. But having just bought the Tap Shorts in Neon Coral Jacquard there was no need for two pair. The neon is much brighter than it appears online. The size 8 fit great, though I could use a little longer inseam.

I’m not sure why I didn’t get the Archivist Tee. Seeing it now I really liked it. I have on a Medium and though it’s a little longer than it should probably be the fit was good through the arms and shoulders. I’ve wishlisted this one.

The Button Lace Midi Blouse is so detailed. Even the back has little pearl bead-like detail. It is a little sheer but a nude bra should fix that, unless you prefer a cami. instead.

The Gabo Eyelet Tee was my favorite of them all. I have on a Small and it’s a good fit. An XS would have brought the hemline up a little too much for me. The shirt reminds me of Cuba and the 70s. You’ll probably need a cami for this one since the eyelet is all-over and it is not lined.

The birthday party was a lot of fun and I’m glad I was able to make it. I didn’t find some things from my wishlist but I liked a lot of what I did try on.

The last set…Bottoms…

Printed Cotton Sateen Mini Skirt, size 8, Navy/Pineapple Print – The 8 was a good fit, my standard mini-skirt size and it’s lined in a thin cotton. I like the print and there are several items to choose from (shirt, dress, shortssweater, tee).

Yellow Cotton Lining

Scalloped Eyelet Short, size 8 – This is a 3-inch inseam but because the 8 is sitting on my hips it’s not too short. The white was just as nice.

5″ Printed Stretch Chino Short, size 6, Vanilla Multi; size 8, Navy/Pineapple Print – I really liked the Vanilla Multi print. The size 8 was too big and the 6 was the best fit. That’s a size down from my normal 8. I brought the Vanilla Multi home with me to see if I could style it with tops I already have.

The 8 was bunchy and too loose in the waist.

Printed Skinny Jean, size 29 – I wanted these to work and I love the Navy stripes at the bottom. But I’d feel more comfortable in a 30 which would make the length too long and alterations would probably remove the stripes altogether.

Pull-On Pant, size 6 – These are really my style but I figured most people will like these. The length is too long for me but the size 6 was a good fit. I might have been able to get away with a 4 as it was loose through the hip and thigh. But TTS for the most part.

Cropped Zipper Jacket, size 8 – This was a good fit, TTS. The cotton is nice and sturdy. It’s also lined in Cotton. I would love to get this if I was in a cooler climate for Spring/Summer.
