Just a quick little Factory review for you today.

~ Cable Knit Sweater, Medium, Red Currant ~

I was looking for a nice cozy sweater for Winter and I was very successful last year in finding a Cable Knit Sweater in the Men’s section in Navy. It showed up early in Fall and I wore it quite a bit in Winter. I found one this season in the Women’s section in this lovely Red Currant color (also in Ivory). This color will go well all I have planned for Fall, especially all the Navy I have. It’s super soft due to the viscose/nylon/merino wool blend material.

I should have bought the Large because as soon as I felt the material I KNEW I was going to shrink it. The tag says Hand Wash so we’ll see how I do before I get lazy and throw it in the machine on the Delicate/Hand Wash setting. For now, though, the Medium is a good fit and great for layering, shown here with the Classic Silk Blouse in Tick Tock. I could have sized to a Small for a more fitted look but I wanted cozy and a little over-sized.
There was only one sweater in the Men’s section that looked interesting – Cotton Contrast-Trim Cardigan. It’s cotton and looks like a Women’s Cardigan from 2009/2010?? just a different material. Anyone recall the name?

I ran in to the store to grab some shorts for The Boy (didn’t find them) and stopped in my tracks. The store was stock full of new arrivals and it was a little bit of sensory overload. Lots of blues, grays, maroons, etc. all around. I grabbed two items to try-on real quick.

I didn’t even try on the Medium as this looked big even on the hanger. This is a nice fit and the Glen Plaid is a Wool/Poly Blend. The hem is slightly longer but not as long as the Silk Sleeveless Blouse. My Store Director said this trend would last through Holiday.

The crewneck and sleeve hem are Burgundy/Navy stripe.

Since receiving the latest Style Guide and then seeing the Pin I have been debating on whether or not to pre-order this vest. I was happy to see it in-store. I’m a Small in the Excursion Vest, Retail or Factory, and this is no different. After trying it on, I decided to pass on this vest. I like the solids better. I have the Navy from the Factory store and have several printed tops I can wear underneath it.
I liked the colors and Glen Plaid on the Sweater so that came home with me. I like quite a bit from this new roll-out including the Collection Wide Leg Trouser in Bi-Stretch Wool in Crimson Maple and the Collection Draped Silk Popover in Navy.

I picked a up few things while doing a return/exchange over the weekend.

When I originally saw this online I thought “pass” but I saw an SA wearing it and loved it on her. It’s a jersey cotton and very soft. I sized to a Small as the Medium looked a bit oversized just holding it up.

Close-up of the “studs” on the parrots heads.

These were replenished in stock and my size was finally available. They seem a touch loose, not necessary baggy just not super snug. The waist seems a little higher too but I know they’ll shrink and stretch through washes and wears so I stuck with the size 30. I returned the Lookout High Rise Jeans as I know I’ll wear these more just working from home. The Lookout are on my wishlist so I hope to grab them again when they go to sale or a good promo.

~ Classic Silk Blouse in Tick Tock Print, Size 6 ~

This should be in new arrivals tomorrow. It was in-store already and is in the next Style Guide as well, hidden under a sweater. The hem is longer, like the Endless Shirt and the Silk Sleeveless Blouse. I love the little clock print.

New arrivals are tomorrow so I hope there are a lot more Fall goodies!

There are lots of pretty work-appropriate dresses for Fall from Tory Burch. I was able to try on a few on Friday.

~ Maxine Dress, Size 6 ~

This dress is the same print as the Velda Tunic I reviewed, which I loved. Though it looks like the size 6 is a perfect fit I was unable to zip this past the waist. A size 8 would be the better size in this dress, and almost all Tory dresses I’ve tried. I love the pleating at the neckline to give the dress a little detail for an otherwise shift dress. It’s dresses like this one that make me wish I worked in an office daily, especially when it’s so comfortable in a silk crepe de chine.

~ Zandi Dress, Small, Petrol Gray ~

I reviewed the Zandi Dress before in Dot {here}. I love this floral printed one better. The Small was definitely the better fit from the previous Medium I tried. This dress is definitely on my wishlist, waiting for a promo or sale price.

~ Tatum Dress, Size 6, Black~

Another beautiful dress that makes me pine for office days. The crepe fabric is lovely and there is ruffle detail on either side of the v-neckline. I know the size 8 would be the best fit as the zipper, again, didn’t make it all the way up. The store usually has a small size like a 0 or 2 and then a size 6 put out in each item. All the other sizes are in the back. I could have asked for the right size but I knew I wouldn’t be buying it and didn’t want to waste anyone’s time to get the right size.

~ Libby Dress, Small, Tory Navy Pinstripe (also Dotted Pony Print) ~

I had an idea this dress would be in the running to come home with me when I saw it. It’s in a beautiful silk jersey, just like my London Blouse. There is seaming in front near the sides to help establish more of a shape. The V-Neck is not too low. With the jersey material I knew it would have a little give and so the size Small was the best fit. I see this easily transitioning into Fall with a Blazer and Winter with a sweater belted over it, using it as a skirt.

~ Walker Cargo, size 30, Dotted Pony ~
I sized to a 30 in these but because of my curves I would still need to go one size larger. These were fitted across the hips and general area. I would also need to hem these. They have a cargo pocket on either side starting just below mid-thigh. Overall, I really liked them and wished they were in my favorite Alexa jean style. I would have brought these home. I may try the size 31 to be sure but these will work much better on someone with a slimmer hip and leg.

I had a coupon and decided on the Libby Dress. I think I will wear it enough at home as well as date night and the office, when I do stop by.
I hope you enjoyed these reviews and maybe one or two items made it to your wishlist!

I love having a Tory Burch Boutique at my mall since I hate returning items online. It’s so nice to try things on to gauge fit and really see what the material or pattern is like up close. Friday afternoon allowed me a few hours of “me-time” so I set out to Tory to check out the new items.

~ Peg Shell, size 8 ~

I unexpectedly loved this little blouse. The hooks in back at the neck were a little tricky to connect without looking but I was finally able to manage. The neck is a small cowl-neck and is 100% silk. It felt wonderful on. The orange and grey will transfer nicely from Fall to Winter.

It also comes in a black print.

~ Rolanda Sweater, Medium, Lichee (Pink) ~

This is a silk cashmere blend and despite it being really warm in the dressing room this felt comfortable on. This also comes in Black, which is probably the color I’d get. The fit is true-to-size and the pink is not very sheer at all.

~ Kelly Top, size 10 {review} ~

My exchange for the size 8 was messed up and I never did receive the size 10. Luckily my store did get this top in and I had it held in the size 10. This size is not as form-fitting as the size 8 was and fit looser in the chest and waist. There are darts at the bust the were a little lower than I would have like and so I’m not too sure the size 10 was the better fit. I’ve added this to my wishlist in both sizes so I hope to grab this on sale.

~ Velda Tunic, size 6 ~

This is a lovely tunic. I usually stay away from the Tory Tunics since the neckline is cut really low. Though this one is cut low, it lays nicely and isn’t over-exposing. The body and arms of the tunic is silk while the contrasting collar, neckline and cuff are cotton poplin. The cut is very flattering as well.

~ Rylie Tunic, Small, Light Grey ~
This is a Tunic Sweater with side-zipper detail. I actually liked it a lot and the Small was a nice fit. This looked really heavy and thick on the hanger but is a very lightweight merino, even more so than the J Crew Merino Pocket Tunics from last Winter.

The zippers on either side expose additional material and not skin, like some other trendy zipper sweaters do. I liked that feature on this sweater as it means you don’t have to layer. It also comes in Black and Navy.

So that’s a little Tory for today. I have some dresses/bottoms scheduled for tomorrow.
