~ Gallop Sweatshirt, Gray, Small ~
I swore off sweatshirts and wasn’t going to get the Gallop Sweatshirt but tried it on anyway. I shouldn’t have done that. These were on promo for 30% off and then add the Gilt Coupon on top of that bringing it to $28.50. Too good of a deal to pass up. The Small was a great fit and I would have been drowning in the Medium. I think I can even get by with layering under this size.

~ Gallop Sweatshirt, Navy, Extra Small ~
When I figured out how much the sweatshirt was going to be I decided to try the same size on in the Navy. I didn’t/don’t want to be matchy with the Addie Gallop Loafer. The fit was just a bit small and there’s no room for layering. I did like the lean look (if that’s possible with a sweatshirt) through the body. If there had been a Small or even a Medium I might have actually purchased both colors. The Navy with the white horses is really nice looking IRL.

~ Printed Tissue Scarf, Heather Graphite ~
And here’s the matching Gallop scarf. The gray is nice but might have looked better in Navy with white horses.

What did you get from the Horsing Around/Gallop Factory collection?

This is in-store only so far. I have no idea if this will make it online. It’s navy & gray check and so cute. I stuck with my normal size Small in these vests and the fit was good.

Looking at these pictures makes me think I should have bought it! At the time I was in the store they were only $5 off. I know that the Saturday before they were 20% off. Promos at the Factory change almost daily. The Gilt Coupon does not apply to the Excursion Vests.

Just adorable! The style number is the same as the Herrinbone and Camo Vests, #02533.

I had an office visit on Thursday and finally had time after to stop by the J Crew Factory to try on all the new Fall arrivals. There were all sorts of different promos and then the Gilt 30% off coupon applied on top of that. All promos listed in the next few Factory posts were as of Thursday. They seem to change almost overnight and/or for the weekend.

~ Slim Stretch Wool Pant, Olive Moss, size 8 ~
I originally thought these were the Skimmer Pant in Wool until I got home and saw they weren’t. The fit is a little snug in the 8 but nothing a little Spanx-ing couldn’t take care of. These are not lined and felt a little itchy. The Olive Moss is a beautiful color too. Loved!

~ Winnie Pant in Stretch Twill, Navy, size 8 ~
These were a very nice fit. Very similar to the Minnie in a size 6, including the length. They were 20% off in-store. There was one pant left in the Pinot Noir color. I passed on these since I have 2 pairs of Navy pants.

~ Frankie Chino, Vintage Aubergine, size 8 ~
I loved this color! The fit was TTS compared to the Andie Chino, The length might be just a little longer than the Andie. No complaints from these pants. Would have loved to have gotten them but the Andie Chino in Deep Garnet also caught my eye. These were 20% off. Also, the Tuxedo Stripe were 50% off in store as of Thursday.

~ Toothpick/Skinny Ankle Jean, Classic Rinse, size 30 ~

I need another pair of jeans like I need another pair of shoes but at 50% off the deal was too good to pass up. All Toothpick/Skinny Ankle Jeans were 50% off and then the Gilt coupon applied on top of that. I bought these for $28. The Classic Rinse denim is a little stiffer so I went with the size 30. If the denim is softer then I can get a 29.

As soon as I can, I’ll have more reviews up. A few highlights were $5 off on the Excursion Vests but the Gilt coupon will not apply, Horsing Around Sweatshirts were 30% off (online doesn’t have them on promo), Wool Blazers were 50% off and the Isabelle in Houndstooth are GORGEOUS!

Until the next Factory post!

I have a few fitting room try-ons for you today and tomorrow.

Zip Pocket Mini Skirt, Heather Chartreuse, size 8 ~
When I first saw this color in the store it reminded me of a lighter version of the Burnished Olive color from several years ago. That olive-yellow tone that came in a Jackie, for sure and I think a Frances Cami and a patterned sweater. This is more yellow than green. The shape is the same as the Collection Leather Mini Skirt {review} except these pockets have zippers.

The size 8 was a very good fit and though I probably could have gone to a size 6 I like to stay with a little longer hemline. This falls almost where I like my pencil skirt lengths. I didn’t really notice the “curved back hem” as the online description states. I brought it home with me to play around and find some outfits and shoes to go with it. Navy is definitely a great color pairing as shown below.

I have been lusting after this sweater since it showed up on the website. My store sold out pretty quick of the Gray color and received a shipment of the Navy which is almost sold out as well. It’s funny because we can’t wear this until at least late October nights but probably more like mid-November nights and then December days.

The Small is a great fit so I recommend sizing down. I love this but feel I’ve been on too much of a leather clothing kick this year. I don’t want to over-do it with the leather. The leather pockets are so subtle, though, because they are also Navy. I love the pairing with the Heather Chartreuse color.

With heels/wedges

AND! I love this styling, even more, with the Vans Classic Slip-On in Wool Pinstripe. I could probably add Navy tights and be fine to wear this exact outfit on a Sunny Winter’s Day.

Have you tried the Zip Pocket Mini Skirt or the Merino Wool Leather Pocket Sweater? I know I can recreate the look with my Navy Tippi but the sweater is just so darn cute and has been on my mind since I saw it.

My online orders came in and I was excited to get these with one of the promos.

Merino Wool Pocket Tunic, Deep Forest, Small ~

I love my Merino Pocket Tunics from last year. This time the pockets are in front instead of on the side. I preferred the side though the front pocket seams aren’t as noticeable. I was counting on the tunic being the same fit as last year so I ordered a Small. I was right about this running big so size down one unless you want a really over-sized fit. I have the Gray, Navy and Burgundy from last year so I am very happy this Forest Green was made available this year.
It doesn’t look too bad with the Zip Pocket Mini in Heather Chartreuse. The mini is not that bright but a more muted tone. My review is coming soon.

Covered-Button Crepe Blouse, Safari, Petite 8 ~

I have several colors of last year’s Drapey Crepe Henley Tunic including a shade of green. The fit is perfect in the Petite 8. If there hadn’t been Petite sizing in this I would have gone with a size 6. The shoulders are fine for me in this. I’m guessing it’s because it’s supposed to be loose. The button placket is covered like it was last year. There is some additional seaming above the chest. Probably to differentiate it from the Drapey Crepe Henley Tunic. The feel/material is the same as well which means it will snag easily. Lastly, from experience, I would stick to the washing instructions on the tag, which is Dry Clean Only. I’ve shrunk two on the delicate setting.
I’m not as excited about the Safari Green color as I thought I would be. It doesn’t go with anything I’m planning on wearing for Fall so I will be returning it.
It’s ok with the Zip Pocket Mini. I’d stick with the darker shade of green above.

Plaid Mix Scarf ~

This is a nice little plaid wool scarf that will mix well with my Fall and Winter items. I usually grab a wool and a cashmere scarf each year.
So, two hits and a miss. I kind of knew after ordering the Crepe Tunic in Safari I was going to return it. I just wasn’t excited about it. The Light Wisteria is a sweet color but only enough to make my wishlist.
How about you? Do you have multiples in the Pocket Tunic and Crepe Tunic? Those two items were something I wore a lot last Winter.
