Here are several skirts including a few new favorites.

~ Pleated Mini in Flecked Wool, size 8  ~

The flecked wool pattern was the same one used in the retail Tie-Waist Tweed Mini Skirt. This elastic pleating mini skirt is now a Factory staple, showing up all seasons. The retail version is the City Mini Skirt. This ran a little big and the elastic waist doesn’t give much shape.

The wool is lightweight, not too heavy and I like the subtle pinkish flecks throughout. Pockets are also an added bonus and lay flat instead of poking out.

~ Shirt-tail Mini in Houndstooth, size 6 ~

I loved the pattern on this skirt! If there had been a size 8 I probably would have bought it. Instant gratification and all that. This is also lined.

Tights, boots and an oversized or men’s gray sweater is how I would probably style this skirt. The only negative is the “shirt-tail”hem. I wish it was straight all the way around.

~ Flared Skirt, Black, size 8 ~
I have a few colors of the Fluted Skirt and just tried this on to compare. The material is just slightly thinner but not too much. The length is about the same as the retail version. If I didn’t have those I would get the Factory versions in Black, Navy and Ivory.
~ Pencil Skirt in Double-Serge Wool, Heather Pine, size 6 ~
I loved this color! The green is deep and very saturated. The skirt is lined but I could feel the wool poking through the lining, which made it a little uncomfortable. I wouldn’t size up in this skirt. I am usually a size 6 in pencil skirts both retail and factory. The Pinot Noir is a gorgeous color IRL as well.

The Factory items are getting better and better each season. These skirts are no exception.
Have you tried the Houndstooth Mini or the Pencil Skirt in Heather Pine?

Back to some more Factory reviews today.

I loved the quality of the merino for this sweater. It seems just like the retail merino sweaters. I need a Medium as it’s quite snug in the shoulders and arms and I could use a touch more length.
The geometric design was done very well and very similar to the retail version

I put this sweater on my wishlist when it originally showed up online. I’m glad I was able to see it in-store. I think the front is very snag-prone. I was also hoping this was a little longer. It would have been nice to have seen it as a tunic. Again, a Medium would be the better fit.
~ Merino Pocket Tunic, Black, XS ~
I regret not getting the retail version of this sweater with the leather pockets so I am very happy this arrived at the Factory. There was only an Extra-Small (!!!!) and then the sweater jumped to a Large in-store in the black. This size fit very well. I took a Small in the retail versions.
At the time, the sweater was 30% off in-store and was a better deal than online. Now, the price is comparable but I think I’ll stick with the XS. I’m wearing them with the Dotted Gigi Pant, size 6.
I brought the Merino Pocket Tunic home with me, using the Gilt 30% off Coupon.

I love both of these shoes in today’s Shoes-day post. Let’s see if you do too!

There was no size 7 to try on in the Houndstooth Print. I have the Printed Bow Pump and am confident the sizing is the same. I tried on the 7 1/2 to be sure.

There’s almost a half-inch gap at the heel but the toe box fit nicely. The material is a poly/wool blend and feels like wool Even the print on the heel is cute!

I wish my size had been in-store. I would have bought them. When I got home I debated about it and decided to wait until the next morning. Well, wouldn’t you know it? The price went from $82.50 promo to $128 promo (regular $138), so I missed a pretty good deal, especially if you include the Gilt 30% coupon. All shoes in-store were 30% off. I know I don’t “need” them but oh, do I want them!

~ Anya Suede Ballet Flat, Crimson Maple, size 7 ~
Now, the Anya in Crimson Maple was a definite buy. The only reason I waited was to see what the price was online compared to in-store. The in-store price was much much better at 30% off, not including the coupon.

The color is very nice and these fit just like by beloved Cece’s. I’m happy I was able to add this color to my collection.

So have you tried the Isabelle Houndstooth Pumps? Or the Anya in the new colors? I would love to see this color in a leather.

Happy Shoes-day!

The other item I purchased with the Labor Day promo at Tory Burch was a wallet/wristlet. I am still using a Kate Spade wallet I purchased from the Outlet and decided that instead of buying a new bag for the Fall Winter {like this one} I would find a new wallet that was more Fall-like instead. I would then continue to use my Robinson Open Dome in Ivory and then switch to my Robinson in Navy for Winter.

~ York Multi-Task Smartphone Wristlet, Dark Plum ~

The strap is removable. I’ll keep it with my jewelry so that if I decide to use it just as a wristlet when I go out it will be right there with my rings and watch.

I tried a few small “smartphone bags” last year that held my phone but not the case. The York Wristlet holds my iPhone with the case still one it. Love that!! There’s a small coin section and a few pockets for cash and receipts.

There are 6 slots for your DL and cards along with two more longer slips for hidden cash or a rewards card or two.

If you haven’t noticed by now, my Fall wardrobe will be mostly Navy and Burgundy (or that shade) with subtle pops of muted colors. I am loving it! Husband has been more vocal about what what he likes on me including colors. “Mr. Picky-Picky” has about 60% Navy in his closet to go with his black, brown and gray slacks. I dare not try any longer to buy or even select clothes for him as he just wrinkles his nose or rolls his eyes. If I do, I try to stick to a Navy theme to distract from the crazy print. LOL!

How are you transitioning your Summer pieces to Fall?

A few Factory dresses for you this evening. All dresses were 20% off on 9/4.

~ Tipped Ponte Dress, Red Currant, size 6 ~
I loved this dress. If I had opportunities to wear it more I would have bought it. The size 6 fit surprisingly well. I’d Spanx it to make sure I got the best shape at the belly and hips area. The Navy dress is also very saturated. I love working-from-home but simple dresses like this make me consider making the hour drive in.
~ Chambray Shirtdress, size 6 ~
The actual body of the dress fit just fine but those arms and shoulders were tight. I had to wiggle my way out. If you don’t have that problem area, like I do, get your true size in this dress. The chambray has a soft feel to it and it’s comfortable on. The length, if you can’t tell, hit me just above the knee. I’m 5’2″.
~ Tweed Chevron Stripe Dress, size 8, #A8989 ~
This is not online but This was with the suiting section which I believe was 20% off. I wasn’t able to zip this all the way up. It will fit it does, it’s just that extra seaming at the waist that always gives me trouble on any dress I try. This is a very nice wear-to-work dress. The bottom portion is a pencil shape and well below the knees.
Here’s a pic of the tag so you can see the tweed material up-close.

Have a Great Evening!
