I originally saw these shoes in the Fall Look Book from J Crew and I died.

I am a huge fan of Pottery Barn. Husband is too! It’s the one store we both like to shop at. Having lived so close to their stores and outlet, we have a lot of our furniture and decor from there so I receive all of their catalogs. I usually briefly scan them to see if there is anything of interest and then toss them into the recycling bin.
Today, when skimming through the magazine a cool-looking jewelry bust caught my eye. Then something on it intrigued me even more.
Now I really want that bust.
I promised The Boy lunch but ended up having to work through lunch so instead we went for a treat. We found a Gelato place at the mall that just happens to be near J Crew. You know I can’t walk by without stopping in. Just a quick peek I told him. Sure mom said The Boy. He knows me well.
My store is having a Luxe event as previously blogged about by Dr. Drama and Alexis on JCA. When I stopped in the store one of my favorite SAs told me new arrivals would be here Tuesday, the event on Thursday and Tax Free weekend starting on Friday. And then he told me he was leaving. He is staying with J Crew, just another store in a different city. The store I frequent has had some shake-ups and changes the past two months. I hope things settle down soon.
So, anyway, I tried on a few skirts and one top I’ve been waiting to see. I’m glad my store had it because sizing was EXTREMELY OFF!
Novo-stripe Wrap Top – #28560, $98.50 – This is silk and I love the stripe contrast. It has a side zip and a wrap shape with a little ruching/gathering on the side. For some reason I grabbed a 6 and a 4 to try on. Normally I would do a 6 and 8 but something told me to get the 4. I’m glad I did because this sucker runs loose. I mean, REALLY LOOSE.
Here’s the 6. Very loose in the waist, chest, side/armholes (bra was showing).
And the 4…Visually not much difference between the 4 and 6 but it was still loose in all the same places.
The 2…A little better, but a maybe a little too much cleavage.
AND THE ZERO…as in never been a 0 in MY LIFE! And this was the best fit (although I did have to do a small dressing room wiggle to get it off, but just a little wiggle.) It was fitted but not tight in the waist and chest (for reference I’m a 36B). The side/armholes weren’t too low, showing the bra. I am getting this top but I’ll wait until Thursday or Friday, praying they don’t sell out of the 0 or 2. I think I will probably go with the 2, just to be safe but I’ll try them both on again before making a final decision.
Skirts
Dotted Metallic Pencil Skirt – (not online yet) – #29265, $118 – I love J Crew Pencil Skirts. ‘Nuff said.
Cord Atlee Skirt – $59.50 – Comes in Navy, Rich Brown, Buff Sand, Alpine Moss – This is a very cute skirt and I love the Moss color. It’s a darker green IRL than online. The navy is very pretty too. The style reminds me of the Deco Shirred and Terra Paisley skirts from last fall.
Size 6 – I brought an 8 in the dressing room but didn’t try it on. I’ll do that when I go back next week. I think the 8 might give me a little more length but we’ll see. The green makes me want Fall to be here now. I can’t wait to wear it with tights and ankle booties.
Wool Bell Skirt – #28704, Size 6
Velvet Bell Skirt – #29086 – This is a 4 but it’s the same style and the Wool Bell Skirt.
And, what I wore. Very basic and casual.
Another office visit and a high school prep day are good reasons to dress up.
Monday I headed into the office again and chose the Ink Blossom Pencil Skirt. I honestly love J Crew pencil skirts. They are so flattering. I originally thought of wearing the Kelsey Ruffle cami with this skirt and even took a picture to debate it.
I eventually decided on being a little less bold and more match-y.
Here’s what I wore today for The Boy’s Prep Day at high school. Yay for me! I didn’t cry.
Of course, since I went in to the office I had to stop by the J’Crewlet. I know I just went two weeks ago but you never know what new items could show up. I did a quick scan and saw nothing new. The Eden Corduroy Blazer was on sale for $59.50.
Then I saw this necklace on the way out. They just came in over the weekend. During the summer I saw this necklace in the B&M and wanted it so badly but I just couldn’t justify the cost. So when I saw this for $49.50 AND 30% off jewelry, I didn’t hesitate to march right up to the register and buy it.
This is the same necklace but in natural that I found at the outlet before Christmas, in the sale section. It was $19.99 plus 20% off sale items.
Pretty pearls…
Have a great evening!
Yes, I got a haircut over the weekend and LOVE IT! I’m going to “attempt” to start growing it out but it’s hard when I get cuts like this that make me happy.
I stopped by the J Crew Factory Store before heading back home from the office. I was excited because the store had some new arrivals.
Evening Primrose Print – Color: BOL, Burnished Olive
Strapless Dress, Style #25208, $98 (I didn’t try this on.)
Cotton Belle Skirt, Style # , $69.50 ($10 off), Size 4
I love this skirt. See it on Dina here.
Size 8 – This is about an inch longer than the 4. There wasn’t a 6 or I would have snatched that up. I can’t wait to pair this with tights and boots.
Cotton Sweater – You remember this from Fall 2009 in Merino Wool.
Style #28428, $72.00 (less $5), Size M
Imperial Tee – Outlet version -Style #29155, $29.50 (less 30% off all graphics)
This is not as sheer as the original. These are selling out. My store only had 2 Larges left.
Art Workshop Tee – Style #28400, $24.50 (plus 30% off)
Now this is still in stores. I purchased this two weeks ago, on sale for $9.99 plus 30% off.
Headache Tee – Style # , $29.50 (less 30% off), Size M
From what I can tell, it is just like the original.
Corduroy Blazer in Natural, Style #27611, Size 6
They had this in a light purple (maybe Light Berry) and navy. It fit well and was really cute.
Silk Pleated Posy Top – Style #30524, $74.50 (less $10), Size 4, Color WWI
Black, Size 6 – This was a better fit than the 4. Not as snug on top.
Shirred Wool Skirt – Style #28747, $69.50, Size 6
This came in Heather Charcoal, Black and HLA (heather ?).
Size 8 – This is about an inch longer than the 6 but still above the knee.
What did I get?
The Headache Tee since I missed out on it the first time. Both colors of the Silk Pleated Posy Cami. The Belle Skirt and the cardigan in the Evening Primrose print. The stretch shirt below
Solid Stretch Shirt, Such a pretty saturated color. $44.50 (less 30% off)
