A few weeks ago I was able to stop by the J Crew Factory Store for a quick visit. Even though J Crew now has their Factory Store online, on the weekends, I still want to see the items “IRL”. For example, I really liked the Printed Tank Dress in Papaya but when I saw it my like turned to ‘meh’. It’s all one-piece but the waist has a thin elastic band to differentiate between the top and the bottom. Even though it is 100% silk, I don’t think it looked all that great on me, IMO. I think the top portion is too loose and not structured enough. I’m sure someone else will be able to rock it but I passed.

Factory Two-Pocket Chambray Shirt, Medium – I’d say this is a medium weight denim shirt. I love it and have worn it twice already. I tried it on with the Factory Printed Pencil Skirt in Violet Dust aka the Neapolitan Pencil Skirt. I liked the print of this skirt last year but wasn’t too fond of the material. I feared it would snag too much. This is a smooth cotton with a little stretch. I’m wearing a 6.

Textured Cotton Mini – Size 6 – Cobblestone

Flora Paisley Lily Short – Size 8 – Violet Dust – Told you I loved the print.

Twila Tank – Size 6 – Light Berry – It’s a little snug at the top of the chest. I think I remember the retail version, size 6, fitting very loose.

Black Blossom Cardigan

Ruffled Carly Dress – Size 6 – “LAM” – This fit a little different than the retail version, which I have in a 4 in white. I think it was around the hips where it seemed a little snug.

Perfect Printed Scarf – This is the Rose Vines print, which is one of my favorite prints but I did not care for the texture of it. I would have loved to have seen it in silk.

Gingham Shirt – Medium – Wild Blackberry – I am pretty sure I’m taking this one back. I rarely wear the retail version in the purple.

How cute is the Enamel Critter Giraffe Necklace? It’s $12.99 in the store as opposed to the $19.50 online.

New to my Factory store were women’s shoes, all ballet flats and crewcuts. I wish I could wear their size 14 because there were some cute tees!

I am really wanting the Vintage Zebra-Stripe Cardigan but it wasn’t in-store. I do like when the Factory Store brings the cotton version of the retail merino cardigans. For where I live the cotton is just a better choice. I hope to see it when I go back with my return.

Enjoy the game! I don’t care who wins really. I’m just waiting for GLEE!!!

We’ve had some pretty cold days this week. I’m glad today is going to be a beautiful 60 degree day. I had to head in to my office on Tuesday and as much as I wanted to “work-wear” my Lolli pants I knew I would be cold so I decided to layer with my new cashmere tee.

I stayed in and warm on Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday I was ready to put on real clothes and decided on a repeat of Tuesday.

We had a teeny bit of snow on Friday. It stuck to the cement and hard surfaces but not the grass.

Bella’s not too sure she really needs to go potty.

And finally – I want to wish a wonderful Happy Birthday to my son David (aka The Boy). He’s 15 today and I’m so happy and proud to have raised a wonderful young man. He is my life.

I’m off to cook for the birthday festivities. I still owe you Anthro pics and JC Factory Store pics too. I hope to have them up or ready to post tomorrow evening.

Have a great day!

So I have been kind of in love with the J Crew Juliet heels, specifically the Peacock color. Oh such a pretty teal blue. Alas, the Peacock Juliet’s have eluded me all year…until now.

As I was walking by Nine West on Saturday a flash of teal caught my eye. I walked in and there they were. Same color, well Medium Blue, and same wood heel, well tapered not blocked, but so similar to not at least try on.

I took a size 7 as the 6 1/2 was a smidge tight in the width. I’m so excited to finally have this color and at a great price. Online there are 8 different colors to choose from but this one was the best IMO.

Have a great day!

I joined husband for lunch today at PF Chang’s and he has been waiting for me to wear a Christmas gift he gave me. It’s a Magnifier necklace also known as a Monocle Necklace. Because it as light aqua colored beads on it I can’t really wear it with everything but I found something today that worked! See a similar necklace on Amy K here and here.

Coming up for Shoes-day…Peacock!

I’ve been trying to figure out a new title for post for my OOTD’s other than “Quick Post” or “Today’s OOTD”. Please forgive my Spanish as I am not fluent. I certainly understand a lot more than I can speak and am try to re-learn it so I can help The Boy with his classes in the next few years. “Que Bella”, I have found, translates to “How beautiful”. I really wanted to have the word “bella” in it if I could so that’s what I’ve come up with. We’ll see how it goes.

Here’s what I wore Thursday and Friday. Thursday was quite a beautiful day. Gorgeous blue sky and sun everywhere. This is the Fluttering Obi Dress by Corey Lynn Calter from Anthropologie, size 4. When I tried on the dress the belt was stitched in the back so I had to take a seam ripper to it so that I could wear the belt the way it shows in the picture on the Anthro size. The only thing I don’t like about this dress is the sleeve. It is elastic and so if I push them up they are tight on my arm. I really loathe elastic on the arms but sometimes you have to suffer for fashion, right? The print is too pretty and did I mention it’s a size 4! I love when I can fit into my 20’s size! These are worn with my Steve Madden Inragee boots.

Friday was an equally gorgeous day – very Spring-like – and 75 degrees with a slight breeze. For me that meant a cardigan and for Husband that meant shorts and a t-shirt. I’m wearing J Crew Cashmere Cardigan in Cobblestone, J Crew Silk and Sequin Scoopneck Tee in Dark Plum (see the Almond color on Gigi here), GAP Essential Jeans and Prada Leopard flats. I had a salon appointment yesterday and, because I’m trying to grow out my hair, it’s not as short as I would probably like. But I’ll get there. Not sure where “there” is but I’ll figure it out soon enough.

So, can you tell where I’ve taken this picture? No? Well, I’m in a dressing room…at the J Crew Factory Store. I was able to swing by after my salon appointment and tried on a few things. I really wanted to see the Neapolitan skirt and shorts IRL and they did not disappoint. I’ll post pics later this weekend.

Have a great day!
