How cute is the Driving Scarf print on these bathing suits?

Have a great day!

I used to shop The Limited and Express quite a bit in my late 20s. They were great for work pieces for someone on a budget, especially when they had their sales. I stopped by The Limited last week because I saw a lace skirt that interested me. I find that their pieces have always run big and am usually a Small or 6. I stuck with that when trying on clothes this time.
Please forgive the lighting. I tried to get the best shot I could without it being too bright.
Drawstring Butterfly Bateau Sweater – Size S, $49.90, Cotton – I am a fan of butterfly and kimono sleeves. This is a cute sweater but you will have to wear a tank underneath since there is no material or panel on the sides of the sweater.

Dot Pattern Top – Size S, $44.90, Polyester Satin – This is from their Outback Red line. The small was a nice fit and the pattern makes you look slimming, IMO. I tried on the Medium as well, which fit a lot looser than the Small.

Striped Cowl Sweater – Size S, $39.90, Cotton Blend – This is very soft and lightweight and looks so mod to me. I’m not sure if it’s the size of the stripes or that the mirror might be tricking me but I look skinny! haha

Stripe Pattern Top – Size S, $46.90, Polyester – I thought it was silk until I saw the tag. I love the nautical stripes and the ruched detail at the neckline. The Medium was a lot wider and longer, at least 1-2 inches.

Asymmetrical Tiered Top – Size M, $39.90, Modal Jersey, Opal Pink, also comes in Lilac Purple and Taupe – I actually liked this before I tried it on. It reminds me of an Ann Taylor shirt from the Fall.

Elaborate Ruffle Halter Top – Size M, $44.90, Polyester – I love that the shirt already mixes patterns for you. Just add a solid bottom and you’re ready to go. I don’t like the elastic at the bottom of the shirt. The Small would have been snug in the chest but probably a better fit through the body.

Asymmetrical Ruffle Shoulder Sweater – Size M, $49.90, Cotton, Fuschia, also comes in Orange and Dusty Pink – Ummm…I got nothing. I thinks it’s the ruffle.

Ruffle 2-in-1 Dress – Size 6, $98, Polyester, I’ll call this Peach and Neutral/Tan. It also comes in Smog Gray (top) and Navy (skirt). – I would need to size up in this. The top portion fit fine but the pencil skirt is tight and I struggled to get it over them hips I have. There is no way to step in to the dress because it has a side-zip

Fixed Wrap Shirtdress – Size 6, $89.90 $53.94, Cotton Spandex, Clover Green – I would size up to an 8 in this to feel a little more comfortable. I like that the sleeves have an adjustable button closure.

Printed Ruffle Top – Size S, $44.90, Polyester Spandex Stretch – Another elastic band around the hem but I like the print. I could have it tailored to shorten the hem which would remove the elastic…if it wasn’t Poly.
Lace Pencil Skirt – Size 6, $69.90, Cotton Nylon Blend, Modern Black – I am so happy with this skirt. The fit is amazing. I have never owned anything that was lace because I associated it with old and frumpy. Not in this skirt and for the price I couldn’t pass it up. You know my favorite retailer would have this marked up to over $200.

Cool Bomber Jacket – Size M, $128, Faux Leather/Polyurethane, Natural – Buttery soft faux leather biker jacket…this is lovely. Zipper detail above the chest and zippers at the sleeves.

Pleated Full 50s Skirt – Size 6, $59.90, Cotton Spandex – This is so very Mad Men and very classic. I wish they had it in white or khaki or even navy. Loved it!

Rosette Mesh Tee – Size S, $39.90, Smog Grey, Also comes in Marine Blue (below) and Sailer Blue, which looked Black to me. – Reminds me of the JC Rosette Tee in Navy. This is a sheer tee with the Rosette’s only in the front. This will require a tank (I have a matching grey one on) or some other shirt underneath it.

Rosette Mesh Tee – Size M, Marine Blue – Matching tank underneath

I hope you enjoyed these reviews.

Oxford Ballet Flats – “Borrowed from the boys…” (How many more times can we hear this from J Crew?)
I love the oxford/spectator look. I currently have an obsession with these and these that came out years ago from Miu Miu. I had a pair in my possession a few months ago (yay ebay) but I couldn’t bear the pain of walking in them for more than 10 minutes because they were too small.

After seeing these online originally I thought three things:
1) I need these. – I now have these.
2) They will sell out quickly. – Now currently expected to ship 5/30/11.
3) My store will not get these. – They did because I bought them.
I saw these in the B&M last week but not in my size. Depending on the shoe, not just the brand, I can wear a 6 1/2 or 7. And I already knew they would not ship until May (hopefully sooner) if I ordered them online. Friday, I stopped by to return the Lockwood Hobo and walked around to see if they had anything new. I saw the shoes and just took another quick glance at the sizes. Size 7 was staring back at me with a label that said “Display”. The SA was kind enough to search for them while I tried on the 6 1/2 that was also there (a little too tight).
They run TTS for J Crew shoes. I am consistently a 7 in their shoes but had been able to comfortably fit into a 6 1/2 in their flats because they weren’t cushioned. Now that they are padded, the 7 is a better fit. Both the toe and heel are black leather and the body of the shoe is white. The sole is rubber but that just makes it more flexible. The website says something about “removing the shank making them supremely flexible”. My store (San Antonio – La Cantera) had all sizes (except 7) in-store if you are interested in them.
I cannot wait to wear them.
Happy Shoes-Day!

My closest Factory Store recently started receiving Crewcuts items. When I was in there last, I checked out their items. For the girls they had lots of cute little tees and bubble skirts in all colors. For the boys they had cute little tees and shorts in all colors. I have only bought Crewcuts once, even though I have 3 nephews and a niece. I do love all their cute little embellished tees and wish they would make grown-up styles like them (not all, just a few of the collectibles like this one).

My niece’s birthday was Valentine’s Day and I completely forgot! I’m such an awful Tia. I thought a few little tees would make up for that.

Girls Doodle Doggie Tee – $32.50 (promo 30% off CC tees) – They had this in both pink (DDC) and white. This price is the same as the online version!

Max and Molly Tee – $24.50 (plus add’l promo)

And how cute is this little Pink Poodle Necklace! So cute that I bought one for me.
$14.50 (30% off CC jewelry)

Ribbon-Tied Long Pearl Necklace – $22.50 (plus add’l promo) – My niece loves my faux pearls when I wear them so I think she’ll like a necklace of her own.

It seems that there is not too much of a price difference for the Crewcuts Factory Store items. Again, I only looked and purchased these few items. Everything in CC had an additional promo of 20% or more off.

I just realized I haven’t had a give-away since my birthday. So here’s one to make up for that long stretch of not getting free stuff.

One lucky winner will receive the J Crew Silk Driving Scarf. I honestly think this is the perfect scarf for Spring. The colors are truly vibrant and gorgeous.
