In my last post I raved about SeesTheSale.com, an online wish-list for all your J Crew, Madewell, Old Navy, Gap, Banana goodies. Well, they have just added ANTHROPOLOGIE to their list.

I know Anthropologie has a wish-list but SeesTheSale.com takes it one step further because they will notify you via email when an item you’ve been coveting goes on sale.

Yay SeesTheSale! Go sign up now if you haven’t already!

Stay cool!

Ever bought anything full price at J-you-know-who and a few days later it goes on sale? Sucks doesn’t it? Or you find out that an elusive item popped-back in your size but you just missed out? Arrrgh! Or you are just trying to watch your pennies and would prefer to take your chances and buy that skirt on sale?.

Well, this is where SeesTheSale.com comes in. You find an item you like. Save the link to your SeesTheSale profile and you’re done. Once you add the link you can then pick your size and color or colors you are eyeing. Pretty simple. Then you just wait. You get an email if your item goes on sale, goes out of stock or comes back in stock (POP-BACK!!).

Right now you can add any item from J Crew, GAP, Banana Republic, Old Navy and Madewell. They are working on adding other stores too. It’s really simple to sign up and use.

You’re going to love it!

On my last day of stay-cation I headed over to Anthro to make some returns and exchanges and try on some things while The Boy got his haircut.

Lunar Cycles Top, The Addison Story, Dark Orange, S, $88

Husband bought me this for my birthday in a Medium. It was just a little looser than I wanted so I tried on the Small which I like much better. With all the “wing-i-ness” of the sleeves the fitted the better, IMO. Exchanged sizes
In Flight Top, The Addison Story, Blue, Medium, $138
I’d size down to a Small so there was less fabric floating around. I love flowy/batwing/kimono style sleeves so I was drawn to this one but for that price I don’t think I’ll even purchase on sale. Pass

Cerro Bonete Top, C. Keer, Black, Small, $29.95
This was a sale item I tried on to replace the Indirect Route Top I received from Husband/The Boy for my birthday. That top was all sorts of wrong on me. Purchased/Exchange

Cissus Gingham Button-Up, Sanctuary, Green, Medium, $88
Love this one. Even for our hot summer temps I’d get it now. This was a good fit across the shoulders and chest and did not pull. Wishlisted

Aine Pencil Skirt, Cream, 6, $118
LOVE! I have no idea why I have been drawn to lace crochet this year but this skirt has a green lining that shows through. This is certainly a trend I am loving. The next picture doesn’t do it justice. And of course, pencil skirts are my BFF. I will size up to an 8 though as I was unable to zip this all the way up. Wishlisted

Fernery Top, Tiny, Blue Motif, Medium, $88
Another Love! The “cape” is sown to the top strap of the tank, which is super soft. I’d size down to a Small (third pic below) so the length on the tank was shorter. I do wish the “cape” was removeable. Due to the thinness/chiffonness of it, I would be afraid to take a seam ripper to it. Wishlisted

Wings!

Shape Suggestion Skirt, Porridge, Green, Small, $78
This is one of those midi-skirts that I have been trying to stay away from due to my height (5’2”) but I love this skirt….in BOTH colors. It does have an elastic waist which is why I could size down to a Small and probably even and XS, if I wanted. Wishlisted both

Blue

Cirque A-Line Dress…aka “I’m Stuck Dress“, Porridge, Size 8, $148
Oh, such a cute dress, but as one blogger said, this is a dress you couldn’t wear multiple times with the same people because the pattern so unique. Pass (sniffle, sniffle)

Contrasting Halves Dress, Gryphon, Cream, Medium, $228
This was the next dress after the Cirque Dress. I couldn’t get this over my chest so I didn’t even try forcing it. It has a back zip but only stopped at the waist, where the embroidery ended. Pass

Beaded Foliage Dress, Rina Dhaka, Red Motif, Medium, $228
I’ve been eyeing this dress since it arrived online. I think there’s too much fabric for me and because there’s a slip that comes with it, sizing down is not an option. It fit just right so a Small would be too tight. Pass/Off my wishlist
Around the Maypole Dress, Girls from Savoy, Red, 6, $158
I love the items by Girls from Savoy. This dress is no exception with the embroidery and flouncy skirt. Also, the back is elastic so there is no fear of getting stuck in this dress. This was a good size all around and sizing up would be loose in the chest. I have been a 6 in all clothes by Girls from Savoy. Wishlisted
Lattice Ring Dress, Tracy Reese, Black, Medium, $348
I was unable to zip this all the way up but I’m not sure if that’s the sizing around my chest or fear. Either way, I will go back and try this on to be sure. I like that it comes with removeable straps if you don’t feel like going strapless. Wishlisted

And the reason I didn’t buy some of those Wishlisted items above.
Gathering Breeze Dress, Lil, Green, 6 & 10, $258,
Handkerchief Vest, Sparrow, Pink, Small, $98
This dress was styled with this sweater vest and it looks cute together. Sparrow always has such unique sweaters.  The dress is lace crochet on top and jersey on the bottom. I am not one to wear my cowboy boots with dresses but add a cropped denim jacket and I just might change my mind.

Sizing – I tried on the 6 and was unable to zip it. I even had the SA try and she couldn’t zip it up. There wasn’t an 8 to try on so I asked for the 10, just to see if the 8 might work, depending on the loose-ness of the 10. Well, I must confess that the 10 was a perfect fit. If I had ordered the 8, I don’t think I would have been able to zip it up either. I’ll re-try it on in a few days to make sure but even the SA agreed the 8 probably wouldn’t work. I’m not sure if it’s the molded cups or the bodice but I’m not “runneth” over either in the 10. You can’t tell any difference in the length between the two sizes even though the 10 is two sizes up.  Purchase

Size 10

I know this is stupid but I have a personal issue with going past a size 8 or Medium. I just can’t do it. I will rarely try on the larger size. I see myself as a size 6 and have only recently (past 2 years) accepted size 8. I know sizing doesn’t matter because all brands and designers have their own version of a size 6/8/10 (J-you-know-who, anyone?) but I can’t seem to get past it. Stupid right? But, because this dress was so lovely and gorgeous I couldn’t pass it up.
Have your eye on any of these? Tried any of these on?

I have to say June was the “Month of Shoes” for me from different brands and price points. I think there’s a little something in here for everyone (including your boys and hubby’s). This is picture and link heavy so I apologize if the post takes a little longer to load.

I teased you with my new TOMS that are the prettiest color of sunshine yellow with that Sperry Topsider accent.

Size 7 1/2

Nike® for J.Crew Vintage Collection Cortez® Sneakers

Size 5 1/2 (Men’s), Chalk- To determine your size go down 1 and a half sizes from your normal size. I am a 7 in Women’s. These come complete with the exposed foam tongue, just like back-in-the-day. The Boy saw these on the back of the catalog I had laying around and FREAKED OUT! He proceeded to beg beg BEG for these in the Anthracite (Blue/Green). He is a HUGE fan of the Nike Cortez and has several pairs in various colors. He has some all white leather and is very careful to not scuff them or get them dirty. He now asks every week or so if any new colors have come out on the J Crew site. I’ll have him drinking the “crewlade” soon. Muah-ha-ha…

Size 37
I have some Corso Como Espadrilles in red but I couldn’t pass up Louboutin’s on sale, in my size! I bought these at Neiman’s and they had some lovely blue Gingham flats, but sadly not in my size.

Tory Burch Tevray Huarache Wedge Sandal
Size 7
Again, another Neiman’s sale find, plus an additional 20% off! You may also be able to find them in black and white.

LANVIN!!! My first pair. Had I known it would come in this lovely box I would have looked for some sooner. It will be a present every time I open the box to wear the shoes.

Lanvin Black Patent Espadrille Wedge
Size 37
Loving Neiman’s as these were on sale, plus the additional 20% off. I love that the jute is a darker brown, which will easily transition to fall. I’ve seen these floating around in a Coral/Peach color too.

Prada Pointed Toe Sling-back Pump
Size 36 1/2
Sweet baby pink Prada’s!!! The pictures do not do this shoe justice regarding the color. I am not a “ballerina pink” girl but these were too beautiful to pass up. The link is to a different color on Polyvore. I’m thinking skinny jeans, a white tee and fitted motorcycle jacket with these.

Talbots times two!
Patent Leather Lucite-Heel City Sandals
Size 7
Black & Plaster – Now on sale for $44.39! The Suede in Bordeaux and Leather in Golden Haze/Yellow are just as pretty if you are put off by the “dancer-ish clear heels” and on sale too! See them on Gigi.

Size 7
Black & Warm Taupe
I didn’t get the black but took this picture of them when I was in the store. I tried on the 6 1/2 and found them tight around the widest part of my foot, around the ball. The 7’s were a better fit when I tried them on and 7 is my normal J Crew shoe size. I haven’t worn these yet as it’s just too hot for anything but sandals. They also come in Pale Peacock, Dusty Clay and Brick Red.
Warm Taupe
Here is the color comparison with my Ann Taylor Perfect Pump in Porcini. Those are patent and a little more on the gray side.

J Crew Mona Suede Pumps
Size 7
Wild Berry
Y’all know I love me some J Crew Wild Berry so I had to see these IRL, EVEN THOUGH I also have the Cece Suede Ballet Flats in the same color. They also come in Black, Burnt Sienna, and Slate. I won’t be purchasing the other colors and here’s why. I am not a fan of Black suede. I prefer Black in patent. The Burnt Sienna is about the same color as the Julienne‘s I found on ebay. And I have the Coddington in Cobblestone.

Cece Suede Ballet Flats
Size 7
Wild Berry
I have seen the Sapphire & Tropical Green IRL and they are true to the color online.

Now, do I keep the Mona and exchange the Cece for another color like the Sapphire or Tropical Green? Or do I keep both in the same color? I will certainly wear the flats more but the heels will be great for that little POP for Girls Night Out or Date Night. I’m still debating that one.

OK…so that’s “Super Shoes-day”. I hope you enjoyed it.

Have a great evening!

Sorry folks. Super Shoes-day is being postponed. I went to Anthropologie today to kill some time while The Boy went to get a haircut. I was so excited because I found lots of pretty dresses to try on. Halfway through I found myself stuck in a dress. Super-duper stuck!

The Culprit…Cirque A-Line Dress…silly little elephants drew me in.

The Incident…Oh such a cute little dress by Porridge with cute little white elephants and a lovely yellow sash. It has a side zip that went up and down once easily. I always un-zip/zip once before trying on anything. I stepped into the dress and proceeded to zip it up just fine. I then un-zipped it and it stopped at the waist seam. Ok…no problem, I think to myself. This happens all the time. I’ll just go back up and then back down and all will be well. Nuh-uh…no way. This dress decided it liked me more than I liked it. I tried to zip up and then down again and when I did it not only got stuck a little higher but also split below the zipper pull. And that, ladies, is “Super-Duper Stuck”.

The Extraction…After the zipper split I had to call over the dressing room associate. She went to get some pliers and came back with scissors. Apparently, this dress has had issues with it’s zipper. She was then able to cut me out of the dress. Absolutely and totally embarrassing. And it is such a cute dress. I did continue trying on the other dresses, I was just a lot more careful with the zipper.

Both Husband and The Boy are still laughing.

I’ll have some Anthropologie reviews and Super Shoes-day up later this week.

Have a great day. And watch out for Elephants.
