I admit I was one of those women waiting at Target yesterday before 8 a.m. But my experience has been FAR different from all the others I’ve read.

I originally tried to get to Target online around 7 a.m. and when my page would not load I knew the site had crashed. It puzzles me as to why, after all the media surrounding the Missoni for Target launch, they were not prepared like it was Black Friday. Or, maybe they were, and didn’t realize the potential of us Fashionistas to bring down their site. Either way, I was one of the lucky ones.

There were 6 of us waiting for Target to open at 8 a.m. I literally sized up my “competition” and only one other woman looked to be about my size. The doors were unlocked and we all calmly grabbed a cart and walked to the areas we wanted. Only 1 woman went to the housewares, while the other 5 of us went to the clothes. I grabbed what I thought would fit me (medium) because I really didn’t want to bother with the dressing room. I also didn’t want to take another size and look like I was greedy. After the clothes I went to the accessories, then shoes, lounge/sleep wear, then home and beauty. I then went back to the clothes and re-assessed my cart making sure of what I liked and wanted to keep. I did the same with all the other sections as well. That meant I did two passes around the store and I had a little of everything in my cart and put some things back: wine box, floppy hat (darn it!), storage boxes.

I then thought of the roller luggage I had seen in one of the print ads and decided to try my luck and see what my Target had received. I was only halfway down from that area when I saw exactly what I wanted. My store and gotten one of the roller luggage pieces in, along with a laptop sleeve and small luggage pieces. Again, I only put the one piece in my cart. I didn’t need any of the others.

Here are some of my purchases. All the clothing items are a Size Medium, for reference. The heels are a Size 7.

Multicolor Traditional Upright Spinner Luggage

Multicolor Zigzag Short-Sleeved Sweater Dress – Blue

Multicolor Zigzag Sleeveless Sweater Dress

Dress w/Multicolor Zigzag V-Neck Cardigan

Sweater Dress with Front Panel

Zigzag Print Long Cardigan
I think this is one of my favorite pieces. I can’t wait to wear it.

Suede Pumps – Black

Woven Zigzag Print Pajama Shorts

Black and White Zigzag Pajama Pants (Size Small)

Glass Kitchen Bowl

I was out of the store by 8:45 a.m. I was surprised as I thought I would be in there longer. I am pretty pleased with my findings and I just need to go on a trip to use my new luggage piece. Husband has been making me use this roller back-pack piece and I hate it. So unfashionable, among other things. I also bought some of the silk scarves, tights and the infinity scarf in Passione/Purple. I really really wanted the Colore/Peach-Brown color but decided on the brighter pop of color. As you can see, all the dresses are mini-dresses. I will add tights and boots to them and also treat them as a tunic and wear them with leggings, skinny jeans or pants. I am debating on whether or not to keep the blue dress. I just don’t have that “feeling”. I was able to order the maxi skirt online yesterday afternoon.

I know this collection is supposed to last several weeks so I think there will be re-stocks every few days. Not all of the items were out in my store when I went yesterday (paper and beauty). Unlike the Liberty of London or Calypso collections I think most of my area Targets will be sold out of the Missoni Collection but I do hope to find a few more pieces of the home collection.

Do you think Target will order up more items to be made, like the clothing at least? Did anyone else get what they wanted?

I can remember as far back as 6 years old seeing these shoes in my
mother’s closet. I was immediately drawn to the wood, sculptured heel and loved
to play dress up in them. I don’t recall the colored leather or knot at the
front or how these shoes fastened. It was always the heel. I have always had
these shoes in the back of my mind whenever I went into a store that sold
shoes, hoping to find something similar. The closest I’ve come have been the Look-Through Wedge by Schuler and Sons from Anthropologie.

Aren’t they darling? I don’t know the label and MamaBella doesn’t
remember who made them either. She’s had these since she was 20 years old. When
I visited her house over Easter I finally asked about them. She knew exactly the shoes
I was talking about and found them within minutes. I was so ecstatic to finally
see these shoes after years and years. They are a size 7 and do fit. I did
think about have the soles replaced but I decided I do not want to wear them
for fear of ruining them. The heel is exactly as I remember them.
Is there something from your mother’s closet you remember wanting?

Wah Wah…I know corny title but as soon as I saw myself in this outfit it came to mind.

Here’s what I’m wearing today. I had an “APB” text from The Boy…no lunch money. I had plans to stay in lounge wear all day, or at least until my board meeting this evening. So off I went, to get lunch for a “starving” boy, who begged and pleaded, via texts, for me to pick up Chik-fil-a.

I’m not only wearing the same color, Orange, but doing a little pattern mixing.

Have a Great Day!

While Gigi’s out being a new momma, I did a little guest post of my Fall Fab Five so go check it out.

I wore this Tuesday and felt really good in this outfit. After weeks of 100+ degree weather, we received a dramatic shift in temps over the weekend. I can’t believe how nice 95 degrees feels. And we should have a lovely low temps tonight in the 50s! I brought out two items I had yet to wear since purchasing them, switched to my “Fall” purse and had an awesome hair day too.

All J Crew
Darlington Satchel in Blue Indigo
Silk Stripe Tee
Teardrop Necklace

There is a new version of this tee in navy with white polka dots, which AppGal tried on here. I’m wearing a 6 in the Stripe Tee in the pic. And yes, I’m in a J Crew dressing room. I tried on a few things that I’ll post later.

Not sure what is going on around this part of Texas but we are having some fires sprout up all over the place. There’s one currently going on a few miles from my house. It was “snowing” a little ash at my house earlier. I received some sad news about the large fire in Bastrop that is still blazing. A former work colleague, and good friend, lost his home. He and his family and animals all made it out, thankfully. So far, 600 homes and 2 lives have been lost. Even though we have received some temperature relief we are in need of some a lot of rain.

Anyway, have a Great Evening and I’ll post again soon! I have a “Vintage” Shoes-day post I’m working on that I’m excited about.

I found this lovely cobalt blue skirt in my Anthropologie a few weeks ago in the sale room. It’s the Water’s Edge Skirt by Velvet and almost a straight column skirt and is lined.

Belt: J Crew
Shoes: Miss Trish for Target

Now, here’s how I picked this shirt to wear with this skirt. I knew I wanted to wear the skirt Thursday to my monthly neighborhood Ladies Luncheon but I didn’t have any idea in my head about the shirt. I grabbed the skirt and walked the length of my closet, holding it up to my shirts. They are all organized by color. When I got to the orange section I was intrigued. My peach/melon section was right after that. And that is how I came up with the outfit. I even grabbed a yellow cardigan but it was too hot to wear. I’ll wait until cooler temps to try that color combination.

Husband and I had date night Thursday night so I grabbed my favorite dress, the Stripe Blouson Dress. The Boy was off to his first high school football game. He never went last year.
