I jumped on the site this morning and found something interesting. Someone may have pulled the trigger a little early on adding new pictures to the various category headers. And I like some of what I see.

Though the copy states this is a Colorblock Boatneck Top under the Knits and Tees Category, the picture shows a Sequined Polka Dot Tee. Yes, please. And, if you click on it you will be taken to the Colorblock Boatneck Tee.
The Martina Wedge in a Mint…Love!
A gorgeous skirt with some contrast piping…and look at the cute cardigan!
No, this is not a picture of the Stovepipe Trousers under the Pants Category. But, if you didn’t like the French Hen Sweater then how about a cute doggie?
I hope this cute sweater is not Dream.
Mint Hacking Jacket!!!!
A gorgeous watercolor dress that can transition to Spring.
And this pretty plaid scarf is not the French Hen Scarf but I like the colors.
So, I wonder when we will get to see some of these new items online or in-store? Some are piquing my interest after a lackluster rollout the last two times.

The Jules Dress is probably one of my favorites from J Crew. Though it could be longer the shift silhouette is great for me. I find this dress is perfect for date nights with Husband. Since The Boy seems to be making us practice being “empty-nesters” before our time I am taking advantage of it. The Jules is great to just throw on, slip on some heels and grab a clutch and go. I have it in the Wildact, Fanfare and Stripe Silk Twill. I prefer the size 6 in this as the 8 only adds bulk and not length.

OK, yes it’s short…so no dancing all crazy in this dress, or lifting my arms up above my head.
This is partially lined, in the body only, not the sleeves.
The J Crew Babette Heels pair nicely with the dress. The bronze is almost an exact match in the dress.
I know because of the length most will either pass or treat it as a tunic. But from what I’ve seen, despite less than stellar reviews, the Jules always seems to sell out when it hits sale. So some people are liking it.
I decided on this instead of the Origami Dress from my Fall Shopping list. I know I’ll wear this more often than the Origami, especially when it’s paired with tights and boots and this dress is more me. Also, the print reminds me of the Terra Paisley print from a few years ago. 2009 maybe? I had the skirt but sold it because I needed a bigger size but stil haven’t found one. I’d love to see this in a pencil skirt. Wouldn’t that be gorgeous?
So, do you like it or will you be passing on this dress?

I’ve had the Fire Ants Maxi Dress since December, having purchased it during the half off sale on Black Friday at Anthropologie. I originally bought a size 6 and it was too tight in the torso/rib cage area so I had to size to an 8. Both sizes were too long and after a feeble attempt to hem this dress on my own, I finally took it to Ms. Alvina, my tailor. She is such a sweet lady and when she calls to let you know your items are ready she calls you “honey” or “dear”. I’m so glad to have found her and both she and her daughter do a great job. I now have several “new again” items I can wear without worrying about the fit or length.

I am very happy with the results and wore this dress on it’s own with no other accessories. I even wore flip-flops (Tory Burch Thora) instead of heels. I felt this dress was enough without anything else including height.
The hem is now perfect! For the Fall/Winter, I’ll add a red cardigan and my red Cece Suede Ballet Flats. I only wish this dress had pockets but it fits great now from top to bottom.
Hope you are having a Great long weekend! Today felt like a Sunday for me so I’m happy I still have two more days off.
