Shoes-day: J Crew Oxford Ballet Flats

Oxford Ballet Flats – “Borrowed from the boys…” (How many more times can we hear this from J Crew?)
I love the oxford/spectator look. I currently have an obsession with these and these that came out years ago from Miu Miu. I had a pair in my possession a few months ago (yay ebay) but I couldn’t bear the pain of walking in them for more than 10 minutes because they were too small.

After seeing these online originally I thought three things:
1) I need these. – I now have these.
2) They will sell out quickly. – Now currently expected to ship 5/30/11.
3) My store will not get these. – They did because I bought them.
I saw these in the B&M last week but not in my size. Depending on the shoe, not just the brand, I can wear a 6 1/2 or 7. And I already knew they would not ship until May (hopefully sooner) if I ordered them online. Friday, I stopped by to return the Lockwood Hobo and walked around to see if they had anything new. I saw the shoes and just took another quick glance at the sizes. Size 7 was staring back at me with a label that said “Display”. The SA was kind enough to search for them while I tried on the 6 1/2 that was also there (a little too tight).
They run TTS for J Crew shoes. I am consistently a 7 in their shoes but had been able to comfortably fit into a 6 1/2 in their flats because they weren’t cushioned. Now that they are padded, the 7 is a better fit. Both the toe and heel are black leather and the body of the shoe is white. The sole is rubber but that just makes it more flexible. The website says something about “removing the shank making them supremely flexible”. My store (San Antonio – La Cantera) had all sizes (except 7) in-store if you are interested in them.
I cannot wait to wear them.
Happy Shoes-Day!

I ordered those shoes and a few other items with the 20% off $150 on the weekend. I went up 1/2 size and they are waistlisted until May, as you said. They are adorable shoes and I can't wait to see how you wear them. Please report back on the comfort factor.

I have them and I LOVE them! I have worn them 4 times now and have gotten many compliments! I bought them in my normal ballet flat size from JC and am so happy with them very comfortable too!

Cute! Saw those at my store too. Did you see the tortoise shell cap toe ballets? I'm kicking myself for not getting them…

    Thanks everyone!

xoxo – I wore them all day and didn't have any issues with comfort. I hope yours ship sooner!

LT – I haven't seen it. It may have been in the store I was just too infatuated with the Oxford's to pay any attention. And there's the excuse to go back to the store!

Thanks for the update on the comfort factor. I cannot wait to get these. My PS let me order another pair with 20% off in my usual size and I can send back which ever doesn't fit. Both are backordered until May and I really hope that they ship sooner too.
