J Crew: Fall/Holiday 2010 – Jackets and Dresses

J Crew: Taffeta Marvelle Mini
J Crew: Fall/Holiday 2010 – Skirts

OK…on to two jackets and two dresses I tried on.

Dream Tweed Cardigan – This was very soft and comfortable and the Medium fit, like most of the sweaters and cardigans do for me. The Small would have been a little snug. I had one problem. The zipper would not come undone. I had to pull it over my head. I’m sure that’s not how it’s supposed to be put on so it was annoying. It looked cute on, albeit a little boxy.

Gilded Tweed Jacket – Not really my style. I tried on for the blog only. It is pretty and the size 6 fit well throughout my shoulders and arms. Normally I have to jump to an 8 to accommodate that.

Silk & Flannel Dress – This is not online from what I’ve been able to research. It’s either in-store only or will show up online later. The top is black silk and the bottom part is grey flannel and it has pockets. It’s too lightweight to be wool. The 6 fit well although there was a teeny bit of tugging across the bust. The 8 was too big in the top. I’ll wait for the sale on this one. It will look cute with a cardigan and tights and boots.
All the details on on the picture so click to enlarge.

Gingham Sundrine Flannel Shirtdress – How cute is this dress. A little country-ish in this colorway/pattern but very comfortable. This will be a great everyday dress. It has pockets and a drop waist skirt. I’ll wait for it to go on sale though. There is also the Plaid Sundrine for $128 & the Solid Sundrine in Heather Grey and Heather Elm for $148. The Heather Elm was in store too and I loved the color. I really like the Olive Greens for Fall and J Crew is putting out a lot of items in that color range.

Last post coming up with shirts and tees.

Thanks for the reviews. I love that little checked dress. Hoping to try on the solid color to wear with leggings (on sale, of course).

AudreyBella- I got the tweed dream cardi during recent promos, but not sure what to do with it. I am afraid it will be pilling miserably, but it looks so cuute.. Oh, decisons, decisions…

Thanks for the reviews. That dress is so cute. I have a weakness for dresses that look like skirt and top together, but I would surely wait for a sale.

Thanks for the reviews. The checked dress looks so cute on you. I'm going to wait for a sale before I take the plunge. We haven't even gotten into the coldest months of the season yet, and the dream sweater would sit in my closet until the end of November. By then, I'm sure it will be on sale.

I agree that the checked dress looks great on you! I also think you look nice in the flannel dress but the cardigans don't do you justice.

The zipper think is annoying! I had the starfish dress this summer and it was so cute, but the zipper would not zip up smoothly so I returned it. Does the sweater have a metal or plastic zipper?

Thanks everyone. I hope the pictures help you for your "future" purchases.

Slastena – If anyone can find a way to wear it you can. Your style is always unique.

Kathy – The zipper was metal. I should have gotten another to try but it was frustrating me.

I have the sundrine dress and I need to review, will definitely link back to you. I also got a 6. I love it…

There was a review on JCA from someone who HATED it, so I am glad to know I am not alone in seeing its appeal. LOL. That happens to me sometimes. 😉

The cardi and jacket are just kind of sad…you usually rock in your clothes and these just seem to be depressed. I think those two will for sure make it to super sale. Maybe some goth business people can pick them up for their work wardrobe.
