I was able to stop by J Crew on my way out of town today and found some things on sale. Both pencil skirts were on sale for $69.99, the tee was $14.99, and the Nori Jacquard mini was $19.99. The blouse on the left is from The Limited and was $34.99.

Major confession about the mini. This is the third time I bought it. The first time I exchanged it for a 6, from an 8. Then I returned it because I hadn’t worn it. Then I bought it online when it went on sale and with a promo. And I returned it again because I hadn’t worn it. Then today I saw it on sale for $19.99 and took it as a sign that it should be in my closet no matter what.

Whew! I feel better.

Have a great week.

I’m back from our little mini-beach vacay. It was nice to get away and relax but I forgot the first rule when laying out when it’s cloudy…sunscreen, sunscreen, SUNSCREEN. Soooo stupid of me. I put on my SPF 30 the first day but yesterday I told Husband – “I’ll put some on in a few minutes.” Then zzzzzzzz….and 45 minutes later when I woke up I was red.

I am now a slightly-tanned lobster applying aloe lotion every hour. Husband just laughs at me out of the blue. So I’ve kick-started what was to be my gradual, SPF 30+, “tanning” for the summer. But, before all that, I looked pretty cute in my J Crew Vista Paisley Bikini.

Also, I want to send “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” wishes to Kathy over at Two Hands Full of Daisies. She’s an awesome and thoughtful bloggie friend.

AND, “GOOD LUCK” to Kathy aka JCAUNC Mom who is participating in Atlanta’s 2010 Ride to Change the Future on Saturday, which is a 100-mile bike ride benefiting Ovarian Cycle. Way to go!

I’m off to raid The Boy’s closet for some Spurs gear. We are heading to the Mavs v. Spurs playoff game tonight, the last of our anniversary adventures.

I’ve been so busy these past three days and I’m EXHAUSTED! I’m off to La Playa for a few days with Husband to relax AND to celebrate our 10-year anniversary (Thursday). We’re leaving The Boy home (not alone of course) with the in-laws here to house-sit and pet-sit.

I can’t wait to get some sun!

Have a great week!

After going several years (10, and it was mine) without a wedding in the family, we have had 3 in 18 months with two more coming up in October and November. It’s nice to be with family and I have a large extended family. Turns out my immediate family is pretty big now too. We filled the entire church pew Saturday.

We all get dressed up, laugh, eat, drink, dance, gossip (I know, that’s bad.), take pictures and enjoy the entire event. It’s so much fun. Here are just a few pictures, including what I wore.

Have a great weekend!

I found this blouse/tunic several years at TJ Maxx. I used to wear it ALL the time and then I stopped. I’d see it in my closet and pass it by. For two years I did this. Thursday I decided I needed to wear it one last time and decide if I really wanted to keep it or give it up for sale.

Tunic: TJ Maxx
Pants: J Crew Denim Minnie
Shoes: Toe-Tapping Flats Anthropologie
Necklace: J Crew Crystal Coletto Necklace

I should have worn heels to give myself some height with this longer tunic. I love the kimono sleeves and the material is a linen/silk blend. There is a back tie as well. And because it’s an empire waist, it hides all my bloaty-ness going on right now. This also looks great with white my white skinny jeans.

See, now I love it again and you ebayers will just have to wait.

Have a great day!

PS – I left my camera outside and it got rained on. I’m trying to open it up to dry it out but I have a feeling I may need to bust out the old Fuji for a little while until I get a new one. I even told myself, “Don’t forget it in case it rains.” Then I told myself, “Now you’ve jinxed yourself and you’ll forget it because you reminded yourself.” AND I DID!
