Anthropologie: Checked Swing Top, Cross Contor Top

Continuing on with tops this morning…For reference, I wear a Medium/size 8 in tops (34C cup).

~ Tyhlo Checked Swing Top, Small ~

I know this top is supposed to be loose and swingy but I think I might have benefited from a Petite size. Even then, I think it would look too large on me. Someone with a taller, slimmer frame would look great in this top.

I think where the waist line hits and the pleats below it add too much bulk for me. I do like the Gingham and it was comfortable on.

The back is a little longer than the front. Tylho has two other items in Gingham right now: Open-Shoulder Top and Draped Gingham Tank.

~ Cameo Cross Contor Top, Medium ~

This was a return and my PS wanted me to try it on, since it was in my size. This is a crazy-looking top. Ruffles at the chest, asymmetrical hem, abstract pattern – There’s nothing it doesn’t have, including straps.

Right away, I knew this top wasn’t going to be for me. But it’s rare to see online exclusives returned to my store so I had to at least try it. The gathering at the chest wasn’t annoying like they it looked on the hanger. If you take that away, the shape is very A-line. I’m still not sold on the asymmetrical hemline but it seems to work.

The Medium fit very well and this was surprisingly comfortable on. The Poly Crepe material was somewhat soft against the skin. It’s definitely a statement piece and perfect for a date night or special night out. Slim cropped pants in black or white will be perfect with this top.

Though both are not for me, they are really great tops. I wanted to try a lot on during the Birthday event but also be very selective in what I was going to buy or consider buying.

What do you think of the Cross Contor Top? Would you wear it?

Follow me on…

The gingham top looks a bit too short-waisted or high-waisted on you, but only in the front. It looks fine from the back.

Have you tried on the madras trapeze tank? I'm on the fence about this one too. I saw it online and fell in love with it, but in real life it is sheer and voluminous. The sheerness was not an issue when I tried it on, surprisingly, but there is just so much material (even though it is really lightweight). I want to make this one work, but I'm not very tall and it might be too much on me. Would love to hear your opinion, if you've tried it! That strapless top is pretty wild but it does look great on you.

I don't know…..I love the whole first outfit. The top and the pants. I know you are not reviewing the pants, but I have to say they look great too!! The second top is crazy in a fun way! I would not have the nerve to wear something like that, but it is fun!
