~ Ikat Wrap Dress, size 8 ~
I liked the look of this dress, even on the hanger. It’s not a true wrap dress though so I don’t feel it’s as flattering as a real one that you can adjust as needed. The belt looked odd tied in front so I moved it to the wide trim area. The size 8 fit well and the v-neck isn’t as low on me as it looks in these pics. I love the length on this dress and the Ikat pattern looks really interesting. It’s also lined in Cotton and has pockets! Woo Hoo!
I attempted to try on this dress but I couldn’t even get the two buttons at the top undone. Here’s Gigi’s Review of it. I can tell by her review and pics that I would need a size 8 in this dress. The sheath looks pretty snug so some Spanx are probably in order as well, for the waist area. The back is interesting, though not for me personally. And that exposed zip…yeah. :-/
It is a pretty dress and I would wear it to a Summer wedding, though probably watching what I eat. If I can get back into a store I will try this on and update with pics.
Both dresses are a pass for me. I didn’t get the “feeling” from either of them. This latest J Crew roll-out has been better than most but I also seem to like Summer roll-outs from the retailers more than any other season.
Are you shopping either of these dresses?

I thought that tropical sheath dress was stunning in person, but the print isn't a match for me. Love the wrap dress; I'm ordering the pants in that print, even though the metallic stripe is louder than I had hoped.
