There is just something wonderful about a crisp white button-down shirt. It has so many possibilities sitting in the closet and can dress up or down any piece of clothing. Thursday was another office visit and I paired it with my new Mint A-Line Skirt and loved the whole outfit. And though the skirt is a mini, pairing it with the white shirt and jewelry made it appropriate office wear, at least where I work (think mostly call center employees wearing shorts, tees and flip-flops).

I kept the shoes very neutral with my Tory Burch Tevray sandals. I am wearing an older J Crew belt and the Knotted Twist Necklace and matching bracelet. Rolling the sleeves added to the polished but casual look.
I can’t wait to wear this skirt again!
Have a Great Day!

Goodness…I should really try to keep up with my Que Bella’s. These were from last week. As I purge my closet, I am getting really happy with what I have and being quite selective on what new items I pick up…like this dress. I’m wearing a Size 8 which is slightly loose in the waist but a better fit in the chest. Any smaller and I would have had to return it. I love my Mini-Brompton in Straw but kind of wish I had bought the larger one now. Diva, in her Zaggfolio, is a little heavy so she comes alone sometimes. And these shoes, Stuart Weitzman, have gotten a lot of wear in the month or so that I’ve had them. They are one of the best neutral/natural colored shoes I’ve found. When I first saw them they had a pink undertone to them but when I put them on they blended quite nicely with my skin tone.

I wore this to dinner out last Friday. This is the Tulip Ruffle Cami paired with the Postage Stamp Mini in Confetti Tweed. Oh, how I have been wanting this skirt FOR-EVAH! I just couldn’t bring myself to pay full price for it. Then it went on sale in the store several weeks ago but was still FP online. This skirt lingered in the sale section in my store in sizes 0, 2, 4 and one size 10. I almost succombed to the 10 and asked for an opininon from the Store Manager and she said NO WAY. I need at least an 8 but probably the 6. Love that she was so honest with me. She then started looking for either size in other stores and found an 8 for me. Again, I’m wearing my versatile Stuart Weitzman’s.
See all the beautiful colors in this tweed! Anything could go with this skirt.
This was a weekend errand outfit. I am getting a lot of wear out of my Linen Cable Knit Sweaters. Yes, they are sheer but I don’t mind layering with my Limited Seamless Camis. I have almost every color and they are so comfortable. I’ve been wearing them for years. The shorts are from the Factory Store and normally I don’t go out and about in 3-inch shorts, even to the grocery store down the road, but I loved the outfit so much I took a chance. The main reason for this outfit was my Soludos for J Crew Spearmint Espadrilles. I knew I wanted to wear them but struggled for a few weeks on what to pair them with. Of course, start with something truly basic, like White and Denim.
Thursday, I head into the office again and will be wearing my new purchase, the Mint Mini Skirt. I will post pics sooner than a week later. Promise! Oh, and the other colors of that skirt at a Royal-ish Blue and Canvas/Beige. There are only 3 skirts left in the mint at my store and my PS was surprised they were not online yet. Also, I saw the Mint Jardin Maxi Skirt and LOVE IT! I completely missed it last week and I think I only love it because it’s Mint colored. I prefer my mini over the Maxi (and Husband just told me a few days ago he doesn’t like the Maxi’s on me! Huh? NOW he has an opinion on my outfits).  Any-who…the maxi is a little too full for me but I would certainly consider that color on sale and MIW!
So, what have you been wearing?

During my visit last week for my new hat, I saw the cutest skirt in the sweetest mint color. But I didn’t have time to try it on so I emailed my PS to hold it for me. I dropped by today and she held it along with a few other items.

First up is the skirt (Style #88345, BSP, $89.50), which is not online yet, paired with the Scoopneck Blouse in Anchors Aweigh. I have on a Size 8 in both. How cute is this skirt? It sits a little high on the waist and has an A-line not straight style like most mini skirts. The color is gorgeous and looks great with the navy blouse. The only downside to this skirt? No pockets anywhere. I can live with that as it might have detracted from the shape of the skirt and made it bulky on the hips. It comes in at least two other colors that I think are Navy and Peach or Pink. I can’t remember as my sights were set on the mint. As for the blouse, I loved it when I originally saw it online and still do now. But $135? I’ll take my chances it makes it to sale.

The Naomi Top in Polka Dot reminds me just a little of the Kelsey Ruffle Top with a few less ruffles around the neck. My PS had it with the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Garden Floral. I’m wearing a Size 8 in the top. It is a little loose and I could feasibly size to a 6. I am wearing a Size 6 in the skirt, which is my normal size in JC pencil skirts and it felt just a bit loose. Since I wasn’t going to buy it I didn’t try the size 4 but I think that would be a better fit.
This is another dress that is not online but has the Big Shot Dot print. AJC originally reviewed it here. I have on a Size 4 which still seems a little big on me. Though it’s 100% Silk I don’t think it’s worth $168.
And as I was checking out, a shipment of jewelry came in, and with it this adorable little elephant necklace. Style #95272, $68
It didn’t come home with me today but I don’t know how long I’ll be able to resist it. I also saw the Bubble Necklace in Navy and it is gorgeous and a color I would pay full price for.
What do you think of these new items? Did anyone else find the fit of the Garden Floral Skirt big?
Have a Great Day!

Little by little I’m piecing together another, and hopefully FINAL, wardrobe for my trip. This past weekend I was in search of a floppy straw hat. I have a plethora of baseball caps but I knew they wouldn’t do for this trip. Of course, J Crew was my go-to place but I saw plenty of straw hats online at various stores and price points including Forever 21, Kohl’s and Charlotte Russe.

I thought my decision would be easy when I saw the Crocheted Straw Hat at J Crew last week and it has been at the top of my mind when searching online for hats. It helped that J Crew (in-stores) had 25% off all hats last weekend.
Then I saw the Marietta Sunhat in the May Anthropologie Catalog. Now I had to make some decisions.
Although I think the print on the Marietta Sunhat is darling it does look a little more delicate than the Crocheted Straw Hat. Also, my store did not have it so I was unable to see it IRL. The 25% off hats promo was still going on at J Crew and the price was lower than I originally remembered ($68 vs $45).
I love the coloring on it and was preferring to a darker hat as opposed to the lighter straw. The brim is nice and wide and will cover all of my face and neck and some of my shoulders.
What do you think of the Crocheted Straw Hat? Do you have a straw hat you use during the summer?
