I am beyond excited. What started out as Date Night for me and The Boy tonight turned into a giddy night for me. I found out Tim Gunn…THE TIM GUNN from Project Runway is coming to San Antonio. To MY mall!!!
He is hosting a Fall 2011 Fashion Show with Lucky Brand on October 8 at La Cantera in San Antonio. On top of that, October 6 you can go to an open casting call to possibly be picked to be in the fashion show. AND…if you spend $100 or more you between October 2-8 you “will be professionally photographed with TIM GUNN (!!!) and will receive a personalized signed copy of his NY Times best selling book Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making it Work.” The awesome thing that was said about the casting call is that they are looking for “real San Antonio people”.
I am freaking excited about this. I was unable to to attend FNO due to family priorities but being able to see and/or meet Tim Gunn would be awesome. I think he is so genuine and honest on Project Runway and it would be so amazing to meet him, even for 1 minute.
Now you know I will be spending $100+ at Lucky Brand but I am also going to “Make it work” by going to the open casting call. I tried to convince The Boy but you have to be at least 16 and he’s only 15…boooo! He would have been picked, my handsome, awesome, gray-blue eyed young man. You ever see those ladies in their 50s and 60s with LONG grey hair and long skirts and hippie beads? Yep, that's my mom and she lives in San Antonio. Hee.
Dina – You should send her! Lucky Brand does do some 60s/hippy prints and tees. I bet she would be picked. Long grey hair and everything! Love it!
HOLY CRAP! I Love the Gunn-ster. He totally makes Project Runway. I would love to just sit near him and glean from his fashion prowess. Ya think they'd pick an oompa-loompa like moi at this stage in the game to walk the catwalk? HA!! Too funny. You should totally go for it!!
OMG! How exciting! I hope you make the casting call. Please share the details of your meeting with Tim Gunn. I love him, he's so honest in a very kind way. Enjoy it, lucky you.

I heart Tim! Was lucky enough to see him for a seminar that he did at the 92nd Street Y in NYC a few years ago. Not only is he down to earth, but he has great fashion sense! Bought his book and was fortunate to not only get it autographed, but also got a picture with him! You will have a great time!
How fun!!! I hope he makes it to my mall, but for some reason I doubt it. I attended a fashion show hosted by Clinton Kelly when he did a Macy's tour a couple years ago and it was so fun to see and hear in IRL.
