I had to head in to my office Wednesday and you know I like to stop by the J Crew Factory Store (aka J’Crewlet) when I am in town. Am I glad I did. They had new arrivals Tuesday night so there were a lot of “retail’ versions in store. I was really hoping they had the Vintage Stripe Zebra Cardigan so I wouldn’t have to order it online and…woohoo!…they did.

The promos listed are what I found, and remembered from what I saw in-store. These won’t necessarily apply to the online store once it opens again on Friday.

Vintage Zebra Striped Blakely Dress – #37409, $98, Size 6 – The material is 100% cotton but not as stiff as the retail version. There was a little stitch to hold the collar together at the chest but that broke as I was putting on the dress. The fit was great and possibly even a teensy bit looser than the retail “6”. If I didn’t have the retail version this would have been a purchase.
See the retail version on me here and here.

Vintage Zebra Striped Cardigan and Mini Skirt
Cardigan – #39084, $69.50 (plus 40% off promo), Size M – I’m so happy this was in-store. I love this version (cotton).
Skirt – #37535, $54.50 (plus 20% off promo), Size 6 – This is 100% cotton and the material is not textured like the retail version was.

Size 8 – I liked this one better even though you don’t see a difference in length between the two sizes. It was a little roomier width-wise for me.

Silk Driving Scarf – #24826, $44.50 – This is the same scarf that is currently online and in-stores, retail. The sown in tag is the retail tag and not the FS tag (with the two diamonds underneath the name). I saw it online and then I saw it again on DaniBP and knew I had to have it. So, right when I walked in to the FS, there it was, tossed on a table and out of its place. I snatched it up immediately and later found its siblings. As you can see from the tag the price is $44.50 as opposed to $58 online. Also, there was a 20% off promo for all scarves, making it $35.60.

Twill Flower Tee Applique’ Flower Tee – # , Size M, $69.50 (plus 40% off graphic tees) I can’t remember the retail version’s name of this tee. This fit well and the beading looks to be pretty well-stitched.
Ankle Toothpick Jeans, Super Skinny Stretch – #24678, Size 30, $64.50 (either 30 or 40% off promo on all jeans) – They fit fine but I think I could have done with sizing up to a 31 in these. The color was BLA which I guess is Black. They are a lot darker than the retail version I have.

Dotsalota Chiffon Cami – #38216, Size 6, $98 – This is a Factory Store Collection item. I have the retail version but see it on Gigi and Tres Tippy. I would say this runs TTS. There was also a version of the Pastiche cami as well. I didn’t see it until after I left the dressing room. My guess is that it will be the same price as this one.

Silk Striped Blouse Rugby Stripe Silk Top – #38239, Size M, $69.50 – This a pullover style, no side or back zip. This also came in a navy stripe. Too boxy for me and sizing down would have been tight in the arms/shoulders.

Knit Striped Button Shirt Stripe Boatneck Pullover – #38036, Size M, $69.50 (plus $5 off promo) – This also came in pink and gray stripes. Very comfy and has three buttons at the shoulder on each side.

Motorcycle Jacket – #37046, Size M, $74, Dark Pewter (also comes in Cobblestone) – This fit TTS for me.

Skull Flip-Flops – #91112, $19.50 (plus 20% off promo) – Love that the skulls are on a pink background.

Rose Vines Flip-Flops – #83279, $24.50 (20% off promo)

Also, on my last trip I purchased the Giraffe Critter Necklace, which was $12.99 and then some sort of promo (I think 20%). On this trip, I noticed a new price tag of $24.50 and then a 20% off promo. Sneaky Sneaky J’Crewlet.

I wore the most wonderful dress yesterday. There’s a teeny peek of it in one of the pictures. Can you figure it out? I’ll post recent outfits later today.

Not only did I have a reward card burning a hole in my pocket but also a J Crew gift card. I’ve done a major closet clean-out and am now only (trying) to buy items I will know I will wear. I’m really trying to create 3 outfits in my mind when considering buying an item. I’m not consistent with that process yet but I’m getting there.

Rainy Day Utility Jacket in Forest- Size 6 – $188 sale $99.99 – My PS put this in the fitting room for me. I didn’t care for it but it has a hood, fleece lining and a drawstring waist.

Utility Shirtdress – #39623 – Size M – This has a belt, 3/4 sleeves and mandarin collar. It was a little snug for me in the shoulders and upper arms. I’m not in need of a casual dress

No. 2 Pencil Skirt – Citron – Size 6 – I love J Crew pencil skirts and I know this specific color has been loved by many but, unfortunately, I was not one of them. I think it’s the fabric. Or the fact that I would have to alter the hem and I don’t think that the color is for me. The color is more saturated IRL than compared to the online pic. This fit TTS for me.

Floral Tulle Mini – Size 8 – $110 sale $59.99 – This came out a few weeks ago and is already on sale although the website still shows the regular price. I thought it was cute when it came out but I already have too many dresses and skirts for “just that special occasion” that I have not worn or rarely wear. It is a bubble hem but it’s very minimal.
Vintage Cotton Raglan Tee – Size M – $39.50 currently 20% off $31.60 – Good fit…TTS for me

Lunette Mini in Dark Beechwood – Size 8 – This is a cotton sateen and J Crew describes this as a lantern silhouette. It’s tulip to me. The front and back are the same. I like the fit of the 8 because it give a little more length. I prefer the navy color and can’t wait to wear it through the spring and summer!

Dark Navy – Size 6

Camp Pocket Cardigan in Smoldering Brick – Size Medium – $88 Sale $49.99 – Good fit and the pockets are/seem silk but I don’t like that they are right on the girls.
Silk Pocket Tank in Wave Crest – Size 6 – $68 – Not a big fan of this. It’s a little snug in the chest for me.

Hope these pics and comments help.

I realize now I have been wearing a uniform since last week…button down shirt, sweater, ankle toothpick jeans and boots. I’ll throw on a blazer if it’s a little chilly and I have to run to the store. I have two pair if the jeans and I do everything but sleep in them. Absolutely love them.

Here are yesterday and today’s outfit. I even did similar plaid shirts. I’m so predictable sometimes.

All items J Crew
Factory Eden Blazer in Plum
Anthro Pebbled & Primped Boots

All items J Crew
Saturday Sweater in Marled Bronzed Avocado (Sz Small)
Short Chalet Boots in Desert Brown

Sommers Plaid Perfect Shirt – Size 8 – Again, I have to accommodate my shoulders and upper arms so I always wear an 8 in the Perfect Shirts. This has some pretty colors in it and I have many sweaters and cardigans to wear with it.

Saturday Sweater – This is very soft and runs big. I normally wear a Medium to accommodate my shoulders and upper arms but the small was loose and slouchy and soft (I said that right?). The Marled Pulp Alabaster looks more like a Citron or bright yellow and not so pastel or light like the online pic. I may order the Marled Bluegrass. The color looks so pretty.

Have a great evening. I’ll have some more J Crew reviews tomorrow.

A few weeks ago I was able to stop by the J Crew Factory Store for a quick visit. Even though J Crew now has their Factory Store online, on the weekends, I still want to see the items “IRL”. For example, I really liked the Printed Tank Dress in Papaya but when I saw it my like turned to ‘meh’. It’s all one-piece but the waist has a thin elastic band to differentiate between the top and the bottom. Even though it is 100% silk, I don’t think it looked all that great on me, IMO. I think the top portion is too loose and not structured enough. I’m sure someone else will be able to rock it but I passed.

Factory Two-Pocket Chambray Shirt, Medium – I’d say this is a medium weight denim shirt. I love it and have worn it twice already. I tried it on with the Factory Printed Pencil Skirt in Violet Dust aka the Neapolitan Pencil Skirt. I liked the print of this skirt last year but wasn’t too fond of the material. I feared it would snag too much. This is a smooth cotton with a little stretch. I’m wearing a 6.

Textured Cotton Mini – Size 6 – Cobblestone

Flora Paisley Lily Short – Size 8 – Violet Dust – Told you I loved the print.

Twila Tank – Size 6 – Light Berry – It’s a little snug at the top of the chest. I think I remember the retail version, size 6, fitting very loose.

Black Blossom Cardigan

Ruffled Carly Dress – Size 6 – “LAM” – This fit a little different than the retail version, which I have in a 4 in white. I think it was around the hips where it seemed a little snug.

Perfect Printed Scarf – This is the Rose Vines print, which is one of my favorite prints but I did not care for the texture of it. I would have loved to have seen it in silk.

Gingham Shirt – Medium – Wild Blackberry – I am pretty sure I’m taking this one back. I rarely wear the retail version in the purple.

How cute is the Enamel Critter Giraffe Necklace? It’s $12.99 in the store as opposed to the $19.50 online.

New to my Factory store were women’s shoes, all ballet flats and crewcuts. I wish I could wear their size 14 because there were some cute tees!

I am really wanting the Vintage Zebra-Stripe Cardigan but it wasn’t in-store. I do like when the Factory Store brings the cotton version of the retail merino cardigans. For where I live the cotton is just a better choice. I hope to see it when I go back with my return.

Enjoy the game! I don’t care who wins really. I’m just waiting for GLEE!!!

We’ve had some pretty cold days this week. I’m glad today is going to be a beautiful 60 degree day. I had to head in to my office on Tuesday and as much as I wanted to “work-wear” my Lolli pants I knew I would be cold so I decided to layer with my new cashmere tee.

Shirt: J Crew Factory Store Two-Pocket Chambray Shirt (32043)
Sweater: J Crew Cashmere Tee in Henna
Jeans: J Crew Ankle Stretch Toothpick
Boots: Pebbled and Primped
Necklace: J Crew Knotted Twist Necklace

I stayed in and warm on Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday I was ready to put on real clothes and decided on a repeat of Tuesday.

Shirt: JC FS Chambray Shirt (again)
Sweater: JC Cashmere Tee in Bronzed Olive
Jeans: JC Ankle Stretch Toothpick
Boots: Steve Madden Inragee
Scarf: JC

We had a teeny bit of snow on Friday. It stuck to the cement and hard surfaces but not the grass.

Bella’s not too sure she really needs to go potty.

And finally – I want to wish a wonderful Happy Birthday to my son David (aka The Boy). He’s 15 today and I’m so happy and proud to have raised a wonderful young man. He is my life.

I’m off to cook for the birthday festivities. I still owe you Anthro pics and JC Factory Store pics too. I hope to have them up or ready to post tomorrow evening.

Have a great day!
