I was browsing for some shoes and came across these Melanie Slip-On Sneakers by Frye. They looked like a great alternative to a ballet flat and less bulky than the slip-on sneakers.

I ordered my normal size 7. I tried them on as soon as they arrived. But when I slipped my foot in, without any struggle or using my hands, they were the most dreamy comfortable pair of shoes I think I’ve ever owned. They were a little snug across the top of my foot but within minutes the leather seemed to stretch out. I would stick with your normal shoe size because they will stretch.

From the outside, it looks like these Slip-Ons have no support but the inside is all leather and well padded. There must be memory foam or something in there. I wasn’t going anywhere but these shoes didn’t leave my feet the rest of the evening.

I bought them in black as well and as soon as I see MamaBella, I’ll make sure she likes them before getting her a pair too.

You have to get a pair. I’m not kidding. If there ever was a single pair of shoes to own, the Melanie Slip-on Sneaker is it. And, they come in a array of colors and styles.

I live in these shoes right now. I could almost get rid of all my other shoes and wear these forever. Almost.

The Brocatto Peplum Top was the only item on my Anthro wishlist I wanted to see using the Anthro Day 15% off. I ordered a Medium and should have probably chosen a Medium Petite. It’s loose in the shoulders and chest and then fits in the waist. The material is a beautiful brocade but does look a little like Grandmother’s couch. Also, the Peplum is a bit “peppy”

I love the color of the Roses and found so many items in my closet that would work with this top. I just don’t know if I love it enough to keep it or exchange it for a MP, so I’ll need your help deciding.

I originally didn’t care for pairing the Brocatto Peplum Top with the Fluted Skirt in Ivory because I had a Flare at the hip and then at my knees. But, now, seeing it in an image, I don’t think it looks that bad. What do you think? A pencil skirt or even the Sterling Skirt in Crimson Maple might be a better choice for this top.

Second, is a jean pairing. These are Lucky Brand Legend High-Rise Trouser Jeans, with the Schoolboy Blazer in Navy and Studded Strap Booties from Anthro. If I wore this top alone with a jean I would go a skinny jean like the Midrise Toothpick in Carbon.

Lastly, I have on the Flair Skirt in Double-Serge Wool in Navy, the Factory Clare Cardigan in Cabernet and my Louboutin’s in Cranberry. This is a nice look and the Clare Cardigan goes well with the top.

I created a few other looks in my Stylebook but am really on the fence about this top. So even though I like it and I can certainly wear this 3 ways, and more, I don’t know if I actually will. I have enough dressy tops to go with these items but can it be casual enough for WFH?
What do you think?

Last week at the JC Style Sessions, my girlfriend had the most gorgeous Ralph Lauren brown leather oxfords on. They were so gorgeous and I was so jealous. I started on a mission to find something similar.

I found a J Crew option that had a more spectator look but then discovered the Frye Anna Leather Oxford in Cognac. I love Frye shoes and boots and these are no exception. They have a distressed look and are all leather.

Definitely masculine but the distressed leather in Cognac is beautiful.

I bought my normal size 7 and though they are snug at the instep they are very comfortable. I’d probably wear a light sock or thin shoe liners. I love the look with rolled denim.

Ronald McDonald pose…
And a few other options…
These were $228 and also come in a beautiful dark brown too. I really like the BDG option above and the Fluevog’s too.

Are you interested in wearing the menswear trend on your feet?

Here’s today’s outfit. I almost wore boots again but remembered I had these Frye Mary Jane’s. This is the first time I’ve worn the skirt even though I’ve had it for over a month.
