I purchased the Silk Tie Scarf and wanted to try and style it the way J Crew did in their Style Guides from September and October. This {pin} is kind of what I used to create this outfit, just as far as layering the scarf under my clothes.

To be honest, I wore my Calf-Hair Shearling Slippers most of the day and then added the Martina Wedges when we went to dinner with The Boy. He is on his way back to school today.
I really liked the look of the scarf at the neckline. It was peaking out enough to make you think it was another shirt layered under the sweater. I do think I should have put one end of the scarf to the side instead of both ends dangling in front.
I bought the Midnight Green color of the Silk Tie Scarf. I like the look of the Black Cobalt and the Overcast Grey but I am not sure 1) how often I would layer the scarf under my clothes and 2) actually wear a silk scarf.
Do you ever take a styling idea from the Style Guides?

After seeing this color pairing of Pink and Red from the Factory Outfit Obsessions section I had to recreate it.

I missed out on the Silk Boy Shirt in Windowpane but was happy to find it’s Factory offering in the Printed Silk Blouse. The Factory image has the Merino Charley Sweater in Maraschino Cherry but I used an Old Navy Cashmere sweater, from 2007, in Red as the perfect substitute. I replaced the Scallop Trim Mini with a J Crew oldie, the Flannel Parlour Skirt in Ivory. Because of the super cold day, I wore some Fleece Lined Leggings and my Harper Boots.

I was cozy and warm while out Christmas shopping. I took a size Medium in the blouse and runs TTS. Gigi reviewed it here. I can’t wait to wear this combo again. I have several different Ivory colored bottoms that I can use to change up this outfit slightly.
Have a Great Day!

Here are a couple of work-from-home outfits that have also been keeping me warm during our cold-spell this week.

First up is the Wool City Mini in Black (size 6), Fisherman Sweater in Camel, Short Chalet Shearling Boots and Anthropologie Fleece-lined Leggings in Black.

I live in these boots in the Winter. I could have left the house like this but probably would have changed to the Leopard MacAlister Booties had I done so. The Fleece-Lined leggings are amazing and keep my legs toasty warm, so much that I can wear a mini-skirt instead of jeans. They are great under jeans too.

I’m not sure if this next one really worked or not but I know I liked the Coral and Grey together. I am in LOVE with the Sterling Skirt, so much that I ordered the Heather Carbon and am seriously considering the Retro Jade. The ever-so-slight A-line is lovely. And that I found the 8 Petite is a better fit than the standard 6 has me sold on this skirt. I added a brown Perfect Tee under a cape-like Turtleneck I found at Off 5th a few years ago. I made the SA take it off the mannequin since there were none left in the store. I added Dark Grey tights and the MacAlister booties in Dark Cognac.
Have a Great Day!
