So I just have to tell you that my mom scored one of the best deals I’ve ever seen from J Crew.

Description from J Crew: The ultimate more-is-more silk top, featuring a separate animal-printed swatch that’s stitched onto the front and embellished with an asymmetrical bow and randomly placed clusters of shimmery paillettes and rhinestones (we love unexpected accents).
This cami originally sold for $98 and is currently on sale (online) for $49.99 and still available in sizes 0-12. I saw it last week (Tuesday maybe) for $39.99. This past Monday it was marked to $19.99 AND the B&M was still having their 20% off. Of course, only one size left, which happened to fit my mom just right for $15…FIFTEEN DOLLARS! She is going to wear it with the Oak Tweed Pencil Skirt she also purchased for $59.99 + 20% off.
I may be able to do some great bargain shopping when I feel like it but I will never be able to compare to my mom. She is the QUEEN.
Happy Shopping!

Every post should probably have that title. I think I go by my store at least once a week. There were a few new arrivals I tried on today.

But first…my first OOTD.

Dress: Picked up in a boutique in Chattanooga
Shoes: Miss Trish of Capri for Target
Then, OMG!, so freaking HOT! Long story short, our “older” car has no A/C. In Texas, that’s considered a sin in some parts. It’s really not so bad until you stop and wait at a light. So, I changed into this when I got home.
Shirt: Max & Molly Tee J Crew
Skirt: Cotton Cavalry Skirt J Crew
Belt: J Crew
Shoes: J Crew Caribe

Now on to the IRLs.

Ruffled Carly Dress – This comes in Navy and White. I’ve been looking for a white casual dress and this is so cute. The Navy is a 6 and the White is a 4. I like the fit of the 6 but the 4 would work as well (there was no size 6 in store in the White).

Flourette Pencil Skirt – Size 6 – This is a great print in a linen/silk blend. Size up at least one size maybe two; this runs tight on the hips. See it on dinagideon.

Ink Blossom Pencil Skirt – Size 6 – This is my normal size and the fit is great. If I didn’t have the Wildcat Ombre I would have bought this.

Island Paisley Perfect Shirt – Size 8 – With all of the J Crew “vanity sizing” going on, the perfect shirts are always the same. I have to get an 8 to accommodate my shoulders. The 6 is tight and I’ll either pop a button or a sleeve seam (LOL!).

Island Paisley Pocket Cardigan & Cotton Calvary Skirt (Sales $19.99 in store, at least mine) – Size M, Cardi; Size 6, Skirt – I almost never size down in cardis or sweaters. Medium is always my size. Cute print, just like the Perfect Shirt but a little more saturated.

Island Paisley Bubble Skirt & Perfect Fit Stripe Boatneck – Skirt/Shirt – Size M – Run to get this shirt. OMG! This is so comfy and soft. I love it. See it on Debye. The skirt is short. Shorter than the standard minis but it is just too cute. All the SAs said it would be fine, so I brought it home with me to try it out. The waistband is elastic but doesn’t really look right sitting directly on the hips. I am still unsure about this skirt but, OMG!, TOO CUTE.

See what I mean!

My store had tons of stuff on sale. Starfish print shorts, lots of tees, lots of scarves, lots of cardis (no Jackies),  Frankie Mini Dress (see it on yogagirl), just tons of stuff. I bought the Calvary Skirt and the Watercolor Garden Shell. And I just went for a return. 🙂

Have a GREAT evening!

I mentioned in this post that I bought some items on sale and using a discount code from J Crew. They arrived yesterday and I’m pretty happy with my purchases.

Surf Tweed Charter Skirt – I have this in the Linen in the Light Citron color. I sized up and still love the fit. A little bit looser and lower on the hip, but not a whole lot.

Coral Reef Tank in Ivory – I wish this had been available in the Olive Green when I bought this. I don’t really need another white cami. But, it is very pretty and will go with several skirts in my closet.

Not a tucker-inner…There are two dangle-y ribbons on the side.

Torque Moto Cardigan in Navy – I really like this cardi. I can’t wear it now – I was sweating bullets just this morning when taking the pics – but I can’t wait until the first cool breeze.

Sequin Starland Tank in Neon Quartz – I wanted to really like this cami/tank. Sadly, the stupid side zipper won out. It can’t be tucked in at all, unless I wear some Spanx and tuck it into those. I had so many options for this tank. 🙁

Pretty
Yucky (right side) side zipper

So that one is going back. I’ll take it to the store and maybe they will have something I like. Other than the Silk Ripple Dress in Navy there’s nothing I really care for in the new arrivals (at full price, of course).

Here’s what I’m wearing today.

Shirt: J Crew Gingham in Purple
Shorts: J Crew Bermuda (2009)
Shoes: Nada (It’s summer.)

Have a great day!!

I ordered the Pineapple Punch Silk Tunic last week since I needed a ride-along and really liked what I saw online.

J Crew’s Description: Fresh and elegant all at once, a chic throw-on-and-go tunic made from sumptuous silk habotai with exquisite design details, like long blouson sleeves and shirring along the neckline. In a luxurious beachy-chic tropical print. Functional buttons at cuffs. Hidden on-seam pockets. Comes in XS to XL and is $88.00.

I love the silk. The design is so pretty. So are the colors. And they are correct in their description “long blouson sleeves’. Really long. Anticipating it would run big and loose and since I knew it was a cover-up I ordered a small instead of a Medium. I should have sized to an X-Small.

It has POCKETS! OMG! I love that!

See the sleeves. Down to the middle of my hand.
Oh well. I tried it and it didn’t work out. It’s crazy to wear long sleeves in this Texas weather anyway. Size way down if you do want this. I’ll wait until a sale and re-consider it then.
Have a great evening!

You knew I couldn’t pass up the Canterbury Bells Pencil Skirt. I bought the mini (Style #26581) in a size 6 but I really wanted to try the pencil skirt.

Canterbury Bells Pencil Skirt – Style #26359 – $98.00 – Size 0-14 – The length is supposed to be the “slightly shorter 21″ length for summer” according to J Crew. So let’s take a look and compare it.

Front
Side
Rear

Compared with two other recent J Crew Pencil Skirts, the Watercolor Garden Pencil Skirt and Turkish Delight Pencil Skirt. Notice the length difference…3″.

Silly Bella!

And now compared to the mini skirt. The difference in length is 5 inches. The mini is 16″ and the pencil skirt is 21″. But

So, this is one duplicate print I won’t be keeping. I’m returning the mini because I’ll get more use out of the pencil skirt. I do love the “new summer length” though. I know some of you taller ladies may not but it saves us shorties a trip to the tailor.

Oh, and look how my Paper Poplin shirt was packaged. It was tied in a knot. Weird huh?

Have a great weekend!
