Do you ever pair the same print together and wear them at the same time? I have done that for the past two days.
Exhibit A

Cardigan: J Crew Factory Vintage Zebra Stripe Cardigan
Skirt: J Crew Factory Vintage Zebra Stripe Mini
Tank: J Crew Perfect Fit Flower Tank in Gray
TOMS Glitter Shoes

Cardigan: J Crew Factory Evening Primrose Cardigan
Skirt: J Crew Factory Evening Primrose Belle Skirt
Tank: J Crew Perfect Fit Flower Tank in Burnished Olive
GAP City Flat in Purple

But I’m not alone in this. J Crew has matched the same print together as well. The first time I saw this image I thought “What an interesting dress?” But it’s actually the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Royal Paisley and the Talia Top in Royal Paisley (either that or a sweater in the print that hasn’t reached online yet.)

Have you ever dressed in the same print, as separates, top and bottom?

I am really happy I am finally able to wear something other than shorts. It’s nice to finally wear clothes you readers have wearing for weeks – cardigans, booties, long-sleeves. I created a Polyvore of this same outfit but with the J Crew Seacomb Sweater. Unfortunately, the sweater completely covered up the Arced Crosshatch Blouse, which was not my intention. I wanted to keep the look in the black/gray color scheme and when looking through my sweater boxes I came across my J Crew Plaid Boyfriend Cardigan. So I also give you a little pattern mixing.

(I have 2 pair in this color. I cannot express how much I love these jeans.)
Now, here’s a quick little Shoes-day about the Perry Peep-Toe Booties.
I’ve had my eye on these little booties for a while. I was very leary of making a purchase because they looked like the same style as the Odeon Oxford Booties which did not work out for me because they ran small. I hadn’t seen anyone mention these until The Chic Chauffeur wore them a few weeks ago. She confirmed my suspicions that they fit just like the Odeon’s.
When JC offered 30% off sale I ordered these in a 7 1/2 as opposed to my usual size 7. They were just a little tight in the width when I first put them on but stretched a bit as I wore them throughout the day. I like the menswear pinstripe tweed on the gray tweed. It’s such a fun bootie and I may try to wear them with Blythe Shirtdress.
Speaking of the Blythe Shirtdress, I saw it in the San Antonio La Cantera store for $59.99 plus 30% on Thursday in both the Navy and Poppy. Also, there was one more Merino Skirt in a Large on sale and lots of the Maisie Dress in Getaway Green for $59.99 plus 30% off. Just putting that out there if you were looking for any of those.
Have a great day!

Just another gorgeous day around here. Great for layering one of my new favorite blouses and a favorite cardigan.

Cece Suede Ballet Flats in Bright Flame

I was able to find another pair of Cece Ballet Flats on ebay, this time in the Bright Flame. They are not as red as they show online but still great for a subtle pop of color. The Retro Lemon has now caught my eye. As for the Lemon Liftoff Blouse, my Anthropologie (La Cantera San Antonio) is having the 40% off sale items and there were a few of these blouses still available, if you are looking for one.

Enjoy your day!

Tuesday we finally had our first hint of Fall weather. Temps dropped to the 70s! So not only did I wear a sweater but also some boots. Yes, probably a little over-kill for today but I couldn’t contain my excitement over the cool air. I finally was able to wear one of my Missoni for Target items.

Cardigan as outerwear: Missoni for Target Long Cardigan
Sweater: J Crew Silkspun in Toasted Honey
Jeans: J Crew Ankle Stretch Toothpick
Boots: Pebbled and Primped Boots

The yellow in the cardigan is almost an exact match to the The Toasted Honey sweater.

Have a great day!

Can you believe it is mid-October already? We are starting to feel just a slight nip in the air, but only in the mornings and after dark. Hence my first outfit from Tuesday. It was chilly and I was excited to wear my J Crew Maritime dress in Navy. You’ve seen me in the Sail Blue here. And now there is a black color as well. Online it looks too similar to the navy so I’ll pass on it. I went with rolled sleeves and my new TOMS Bennett Metallic Slip-On. These are exactly like my Metallic Cork Wedges but a flat version. I was surprised at how neutral this shoe was and wore the wedges a lot this summer so I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of the slip-on version as well.
Unfortunately, I didn’t keep this on all day. It was pretty warm in the afternoon so I had to change before I was off to the salon and didn’t get pictures.
Wednesday I brought out my new Whirligig Dress in Dark Orange. I love the wrap on this dress and it’s so comfortable for day-wear. Husband sprung a last minute cook-out with friends so I threw on my Lanvin Espadrilles to run to the grocery store. Even though they are espadrilles they have a dark jute wedge so they are still perfect to wear in the fall, at least in South Texas.

…And my new haircut. I love it and feel so much more like me now. I call it the “chic-mullet”…Mom-bob on the right, Short and Sassy on the left, with a touch of bang. I now have my best accessory back.

Thursday I was off to my parents hometown for an impromptu wedding shower. I wore my Twinkle Twinkle Dress by Girls from Savoy and my new Christian Louboutin Simple 70 pumps in Copper. They are such a gorgeous color and I just happened to be in Neiman’s the day after they arrived.

And finally, today, I had lots of errands so I brought out a great tunic from Lucky Brand that I bought on sale along with my J Crew Ankle Toothpick jeans and new “cheaper on ebay” Cece Suede Ballet Flats in Bright Flame.

Husband and I are off for a quick weekend get-a-way with friends tomorrow so I’m off to pack a bag.

Have a GREAT weekend.
