~ Midweight Striped Boatneck Tee, Cherry Red/Ivory, Medium ~

This next tee is what started the Stripe Sickness. The Cherry Red is a true red and very saturated in person. I have maybe two items in red and this will be the third. This also comes in Navy as well as a Colorful version, which is Jade/Navy/Ivory. The Medium fit well through the shoulders and arms but is boxy through the body. I don’t think I could size down to the small without stretching the arms and chest some.

~ Patio Pant, Vanilla White, size 6 ~

I’ve tried these on several times, in different sizes. I tried on the 6 and 8 this time and only found a difference in the waist and hips. The length was still about the same. I think $30 is a good price for them to then add a $10-12 hem job (I can’t do it myself). If suspect the white may move back to full-price once Spring rolls around. That and the Navy are great staples for Spring.

They both look great with the Gemma Flats in Stripe (still not online).

A few more Red, White and Stripes options for you. I think the Halogen Flats are my favorite.

I really love this Cherry color of the Midweight Striped Boatneck Tee. I may even have an opportunity to wear it this weekend when Husband and I go antiquing in the Hill Country.

To finish out the week I have one last set from J Crew, the very popular Patio Pants.

~ Patio Pant, Cabernet, size 8 ~
I reviewed the Patio Pant in the Navy in a size 6 and was able to find a size 8 during my last visit in the Cabernet to compare. The length it longer but still a little off when wearing them with heels. I would like for them to be about a half inch longer to look a little better with the heel. They are a cropped pant so I expected this. The fit is not as snug/form-fitted as the size 6 but there is a little bunching in the front.

With “flats” the length is perfect though I did have a defective pair of pants on. The right leg is slightly shorter than the left so I don’t know which length is correct. You can tell by the break in the pant on the left side.

This color looked really good with my Collection Heart Dot blouse.
~ Petite Patio Pant in Bi-Stretch Wool, Blue Stone, size 8P ~
I ordered the Blue Stone in 8 Petite to compare length and fit, which I expected to be similar to the regular size 6. The length is just where I would like it, hitting just above the ankle bone. The fit is snug, just like the size 6.

The Footless Capri Spanx will smooth things out a little more and hide those VPLs. It seems colors are limited between the Regular and the Petite sizes in Bi-Stretch Wool. The Blue Stone is beautiful IRL. It looks a little Chambray in color which I’m hoping will make it versatile enough to dress down.
Here is a closer look at the color.
I’m so very happy with the 8 Petite size. If I wanted a true trouser I would probably buy the 6 Tall. After receiving these I ordered them in the Leather Tux Stripe in an 8 Petite as well. I’ll share some IRLs when they come in.
What do you think of the Patio Pant in Bi-Stretch Wool?

J Crew has a new promo that started today and runs through Sunday. Take 25% off $100 or 30% off $200 with code SHOPMORE. If you want to see what I’m considering, I’ve updated my August picks over on the side-bar –>. One of the items I included is the Indigo Vintage Cotton V-Neck Tee. The Indigo Tee actually comes in a variety of necklines as well as stripes and either short- or long-sleeve.

My store only had the V-Neck available. I thought I would have preferred the crewneck but once on, I really liked it. I wanted this to fit well and not very loose so the Small is the perfect fit to achieve that. The Vintage Cotton Tee is so very comfortable and I love the Indigo color. I would/will buy a long-sleeve version.
~ Patio Pant, Navy, size 6 ~

I’ve been waiting to try the Patio Pant since they first arrived in April/May. But my store never received them and they sold old very quickly online. They are back in stock in several colors. I like the comfort level of these, cotton with stretch, and the size 6 fits ok. If they came in petite I would prefer the 8 Petite. The inseam claims to be 25-inches but they run just slightly cropped wearing heels on my 5’2″ frame. Which is good because I would be lazy about getting them hemmed to the perfect length. I think the size 8 would be a better fit for the length to be just at the floor and to have a little room in the hips and thighs without them being too loose. If you do vary in pants size like I do, I would get your larger size. Especially, if you are hippy like me.

Overall, I liked both of these items and I did buy the Indigo V-Neck Tee. I am passing on the pants since I don’t have anywhere I would wear them regularly.
