I received my Anthropologie Birthday Discount before I left. Since my birthday is the LAST DAY of June I couldn’t wait for any birthday money or gift cards to use the discount.

Maia Column Dress, Sz M – I have been intrigued by all of Bailey 44’s column dresses but haven’t really liked any of the colors, styles or lengths. Then this dress came along. It’s colorful, sleeveless and shorter and perfect for me. I would have tried the Cap Sleeve Column Dress but my size was sold out in the Navy colorway. This definitely came home with me.

Revisited Impressionist Dress, Sz 8 – I knew I wouldn’t be buying this dress but I just had to try it on. That didn’t help as now I want it even more. It fits amazing and makes my waist look tiny. Also, just when you think it might be a little too tight in the stomach, the dress starts to flare out.

Back Story Blouse, Sz 6 – This blouse is so cute and I really wanted it to work for me. It fit well in the chest but it didn’t flow like I expected it to and grabbed a little at the hips. Sizing to an 8 only made it look big everywhere. There’s a cute tunic dress in this print as well

Matana Tunic – This was on my wishlist to use my birthday discount with. But when I saw it IRL it was super sheer. Like sexy lingerie sheer. I was so disappointed that I didn’t even try it on.
So, after being disappointed I noticed a cute little cream-colored top with leather straps near the Matana Tunic. When I pulled it off the rack it was this super-cute cream-colored swingy crochet cami, the Adorned Whimsy Tank. I grabbed a Small to try on as it looked to run a little big. It was a perfect fit and goes well with my J Crew Linen Shorts in Safari Cat.
Pom Burst Pouch – This clutch also came home with me. It so cute and adorable and fun.
Lilliput Top, Size 6 – I bought this when I first saw it in the store a few months ago. It’s a gorgeous top and sold out quickly. I just noticed a restock online. It fits TTS and dips a little lower in the back. It’s so flattering and the green is very vibrant IRL. As you can see I wore it with white denim jeans and my Target Espadrille Wedges.
There was also a huge sale going on but nothing really caught my eye. Also, there was a Bike Lane Dress re-stock at my store, a size 6 and 8, several 2’s, and 4’s. I tried it on again and loved it but passed on it as it just seemed too whimsical for me.

Have a Great day!

Saturday I did the craziest thing ever in my love for J Crew. I drove 90 miles one way for a skirt! When I told The Boy what I was going to do he looked at me and laughed! And then asked why. Well, my dear Boy, because I needed it. I compared it to when he needed the latest Call of Duty video game or the latest map pack and he understood.

So what skirt would cause me to lose my mind for a moment and drive 90 miles to get it?

It went on sale in stores this week from $118 to $69.99. I was already contemplating a full-price purchase on this skirt but when it hit sale, my store and the other in San Antonio sold out in the size 4 in this color. My PS was going to order it for me but I asked her to look and see if there were any in Austin first. There was one at Barton Creek Square and a few at the Domain. She called BCS and had it put on hold and I drove Saturday evening to pick it up. An hour and a half drive for a 10 minute stop (I picked up some Lammes Candies Longhorns too) and then we turned around and came home.
Now, why, you ask, would I drive to pick this up instead of having it shipped and possibly getting the additional 30% off? Because I’ve re-planned my packing list for the umpteenth time and included this skirt as a possibility. So I had to have it as quickly as possible and I knew it wouldn’t get here by Wednesday.
And I was a walking J Crew ad for my adventure on Saturday. After seeing the Gimlet Skirt in Coaster Stripe on the CNBC show about Mickey & J Crew I was itching to wear it again. I paired it with one of my favorite Linen sweaters, the Linen Dot Popover, and my Iris Sandals in Tortoise
How Crew “Cray Cray” have you ever been? Confess!
Have a Great Day!

I really wanted to wear this skirt as soon as possible and didn’t want to wait for another go-into-the-office day (since I won’t have one for three weeks!!). So I decided to try my options to see which one I liked best for running errands on Friday. My goal was to keep things simple and let the skirt shine.

First, I paired the Porcelain Paisley Skirt with a J Crew Factory Favorite Fit Tank in Navy (similar here) and my trusty Stuart Weitzman Nude Wedges. For the hot day we had the tank was perfect.

Next, I added a J Crew Cotton Cardigan, from 08/09, in Navy (similar here). A nice pairing but I didn’t like the longer length covering the print of this skirt, at least for today.
I swapped the wedges for the Cece Suede Ballet Flats in Wild Berry, making the outfit a little more casual, with a pop of color.
I swapped the Navy cardigan with a Factory Jackie in White (similar here) and the Mona Heels in Wild Berry. I love the pop of pink.
Finally, I swapped the heels for the Chambray Soludos. I quite like this for a super casual look. It was the one I went with today and ended up not wearing the cardigan since it was so hot today.
So tell me…what do you think of these pairings? I must confess I was going to wear a red tank but it was too big on me so I had to go for a smaller one. How will you style this skirt?

Here’s Wednesday’s outfit, which I loved! The J Crew Seersucker pencil skirt from Summer 2011, the Linen Dot Popover, and the latest Anthropologie Wrap Around Blouse that I found on sale and my trusty CL Simple 70s in Navy.

The Wrap Around Blouse has lines on the body and polka dots at the neckline and tie. I think this was a good match in colors.
I must confess, if I haven’t already, the Linen Dot Popover was a total blogger peer pressure purchase. Originally, I was not a fan when it first came out. Especially when I heard it was pretty thin and see-through. Then I kept seeing it on bloggers and in the store and then on more bloggers and right as it sold-out I wanted it. I was able to find it on ebay and have worn it several times already, as seen below. I am wearing the popover with the Morse Code Cafe Capri’s and the Safari Pumps from a few years ago. I’m happy with the Morse Code Capri’s and they will serve me well through the rest of the year.
Do you ever have an item you didn’t like when it came out but then were “swayed” after a few weeks?
Have a Great Day!

Tuesday was another office visit day. As much travelling as I’ve been doing it’s nice to be able to wear some “NWT” items as well as some of my favorites. I was able to do both on Tuesday.

I absolutely adore this Cocodrillo print from J Crew, circa 2009. I have it in the pencil skirt, 3-inch shorts and the ballet flats. I missed out on the swimwear and search for it every once in a while on ebay. I paired it with the Chambray Top and my trusty CL Simple 70s in Navy. I am certainly bringing my cost-per-wear down on those babies. One of my favorite things about this skirt – the pockets. Love those!
I have two more days in the office so you’ll be seeing a few more “professional” Que Bella’s.
Do you have anything in the Cocodrillo print?
