I always find it so hard to find the right pair of Navy-colored shoes. The ones I find are either too bright or too dark and not a true Navy. I was very excited to see the Sylvia Patent Wedges offered in Navy during the last Factory roll-out. During the Early Access, they were priced at half off and I also had a 20% off coupon, making them around $57. Let’s see if they live up to my expectations.

~ Sylvia Patent Wedges, Navy, size 7 ~

Though you see a little gap at the heel, these fit TTS. These look a little lighter blue than Navy but IRL they are a true Navy.
The last time I ordered Sylvia Patent Wedges they were actually the Martina, I’m guessing from overstock. This time these are true Factory shoes with a Poly upper. They are very comfortable and padded on the insole. I’m glad they haven’t skimped out on that part.
I have a lot of Navy in my closet but I do have a pair of Navy pumps that are similar in color. I think I would wear the wedge quite a bit though. For the price I paid, I think they are keepers.
Have you tried the latest Sylvia Patent Wedges? Do you have trouble finding Navy colored shoes?

I placed several Factory orders when I had extra promo coupons bringing some of the prices fairly reasonable. I decided to try a few more shorts as I wear those constantly in Summer. I feel more comfortable in shorts and skirts in the Summer, especially with our heat.

3″ Boardwalk Pull-on Short, Navy, size 8 ~
5″ Boardwalk Pull-on Short, Navy, size 8 ~

The 3-inch short is on the left and the 5-inch is on the right. I like the length of the 5-inch better, though the 3-inch looks longer that it probably should be due to the elastic waist. You can have it sit lower on your hips to give you a little more length. The size 8 is the best fit in these shorts (my normal shorts & pants size). The Navy is a little darker color than my Factory Chino Shorts in Navy. Those are a faded Navy. I kept the 5-inch since they just looked better.

3″ Chambray Drawstring Short, Medium ~

The Medium was a good fit in these, but the inseam looks shorter than the Boardwalk shorts. I bought these for really cheap and though they look like a really short inseam I kept them. They are good for around the house/pool/yard. It seems a little silly to buy shorts for non-outfit days but I can still run to the store looking somewhat decent if needed.

~ 5″ Chino Short, Barbados Cherry, size 8 ~

These fit fine in the size 8, TTS. I was hoping the red was a little more saturated but it’s somewhat faded. I want a nice bright red short, for no real reason. This won’t do.

~ Geometric Trim Tunic, Vintage Canvas, Medium ~
I really liked the geo-design on this tunic but this ran loose so I need to size to a Small. The material is a little thicker cotton but still very comfortable. I ended up returning this one because I did not think it was very flattering on me. Maybe because there was no shape or structure to it.
 ~ Denim Tee, Medium ~
When I ordered this I thought the color different/shading was my computer. It’s IRL too. The very first inches of the top are a faded denim compared to the rest of the tee. That turned me off right away. The Medium fit fine though this was pretty boxy and not shaped at all. I couldn’t get over the color fading at the top to concentrate on anything else about this tee. It is popular though, as it is sold out now.
Other than the two pairs of shorts, Factory was a miss overall. I’m hoping Summer brings some nice prints but I don’t need anything more.
How did you fare with Factory items?

The J Crew Factory roll-out a few weeks ago had a lot of items that I really liked. Below is just a sample of what I added to my wishlist and what I ordered during the Early Access preview.

Wouldn’t a white Shirtdress look so crisp during the Summer. I would roll the sleeves and change the belt to something bright or maybe even metallic. You could go preppy by tying the Basketweave Sweater around your neck or waist.

I would love a nice pair of Linen Trousers but I rarely wear pants or trousers, preferring skirts and shorts so they would just sit in my closet. Now, the Printed Drapey Short is more my lifestyle so I did order those.

!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js’; var cb = new Date().getTime(); p += ‘?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);
I am a fan of the Pleated Short having them in the retail version. I ordered the Bright Scarlet as I’m missing a pair of red shorts in my closet.
The Tie-Dye D’Orsay Flats would be a lot of fun to wear during the Spring and Summer, don’t you think? The Sylvia Patent Wedges in Navy were the first item I added to my cart. I’ve been looking for them ever since missing out on the retail version. I’ll have a review of them next Shoes-day.

I have a couple of Shoes-day posts I’m behind on so let’s get started.

~ Calf Hair Double-Strap Sandal, size 7 ~

These were part of a new roll-out two roll-outs ago. I placed a decent sized order during both roll-outs since I had and extra percent off with the Gilt City coupon and then another email coupon last week. These are a dupe of the Camden Calf-Hair Sandal though the strap across the toes is thinner on the Factory version.

Though completely flat, these didn’t feel too uncomfortable. The strap across the instep wasn’t too tight on me either. The size 7 is my normal size.

I liked the look of these sandals but not on my feet. I think because they are completely flat they allow your feet to relax and spread. The straps then make my feel look even wider than they really are.

I do recommend these even though I don’t like them on me. I do have the Lillian Sandal in Calf-Hair and love those because they have just a little wedge, changing the look of my feet in the sandal.

These really don’t seem like a Factory sandal. I know that the upper is faux but they are still a nice looking pair of sandals.
What do you think of the Calf-Hair Double-Strap Sandal

Trying to round up what I tried on at the Factory store Monday. It seems I did try on quite a few new arrivals that hit the stores and online this week.

~ Bristol Trouser in Herringbone Linen, Navy, size 8 ~

Yes, these are retail pants that were at the Factory; overstock I guess. I didn’t think to check the tag and just assumed these were Factory. The size 8 fit well until I sat down. Then they were a little snug in the thighs. I would need to hem the length as well. The store also had the Modern Red color but not in my size.

~ Drapey Sleeveless Top, Bright Poppy, Small ~

I grabbed two colors in two different sizes to see which worked better for me. I believe the retail version came in numbered sizes and I took a 6. The Small of the Factory version still seems a little big in some areas but fits well in the arms so I wouldn’t size down further.

~ Drapey Sleeveless Top, Black, Medium ~

The Medium was overwhelming big on me. The armholes were also large and hung low.

~ Teddie Sweater, Mint Cream, Medium ~

I grabbed this because I liked the mint color IRL. It is see-though so this may be a good layering sweater for Spring. The Medium was the right fit as well.

~ Long Cardigan Sweater, Navy, Medium ~

I’m pretty bummed I didn’t get this when I was in the store. I love the Navy color and it also comes in Ivory. It’s not too long that it’s overwhelming. The Medium was the right size and you get some shape when you button it.

The material does feel too thick and it feels really cozy on making it transition well into Spring.

I have one more set scheduled for tomorrow but this does wrap up the reviews of the new arrivals I saw in store. Tomorrow, I’ll have a few Clearance and other items I never had the chance to try.

Have a Great Evening!
